They will be speaking to a key witness, as well as several individuals suspected of carrying out burglaries, as part of the second phase of the Scotland Yard probe on the ground in The Algarve.

The same team of British police who were involved in the digging of several sites outside the resort of Praia da Luz earlier in June arrived back in Portugal on Monday.

"We think that this includes the three or more former workers from the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz where Madeleine vanished who are suspected of carrying out a series of burglaries in the months leading up to Madeleine's disappearance."

Four defendants Maddie case will be interrogated

Four people suspected of involvement in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are expected to begin tomorrow questioned by Scotland Yard inspectors, together with the Judicial Police.

When the DN found, the suspects were accused already constituted, according to the same source. Interrogations take place in Faro, Algarve.

Also tomorrow will be heard eight others as witnesses.

Scotland Yard inspectors have been in Portugal to investigate, together with the PJ, the case of, missing British girl's apartment that parents rented holiday in Praia da Luz in 2007.

I stand to be corrected, but about the arguido business...

I seem to recall that one of the reasons Gonzo made the McCanns arguidos without any evidence against them, was that in a few days, the law was going to change so that no-one could be made an arguido without proper evidence?

Which suggests the police have some strong reason to make these four locals arguidos?

For approximately 5 or 6 years the witness works in the firm Blue Ocean, which undertakes cleaning work in the area of Praia da Luz and specifically in the area of the Ocean Club where the company performs cleaning work in some of the apartments near the apartment where the English minor Madeleine McCann disappeared, namely in an apartment that is in the same block but which is on the top floor, it being that the witness does not know precisely which apartment.

Scotland Yard is to begin questioning four formal suspects in the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, ITV News understands.

Officers will begin questioning the four people - identified as arguidos, meaning formal suspects - tomorrow at a police station in Faro, Portugal.

Eight key witnesses will also be questioned.

The three-year-old vanished while holidaying with her parents in Praia da Luz in 2007.

Yes, the law changed 15th September 2007, McCanns & Murat were made arguidos the 7th September. After the law change Amaral would never have been allowed to declare them arguidos.

Dizzy Izzy I read that earlier online .... I was wondering, where does that leave everyone if suspects who are not connected with the family get questioned, the police get answers, someone's charged... And it's not Kate or Gerry ??? Where would things stand then?

Where would things stand? Why, they would 'stand' at proving to the world that the McCann-hating Amaral fans really are nothing but a lynch mob. One that has dedicated the last seven years to abusing, stalking, harrassing, attacking and lying about the family of a missing child.
