Arrogance doesn't even begin to cover it, Bonny.
I read this 'sensible' comment after the Mail piece. At least it wouldn't inconvenience many plebs would it?
Why not just host this meeting in Guantanamo Bay? Very quiet and secure island.

What an excellent suggestion! What would be even better is the guards and staff then sneaking back to the US, leaving our 'leaders' to discuss foreign policy with the detainees......
Oh, and they could also toss the camp keys to the Cubans, I am sure Castro would LOVE to make some new friends in his twilight years.

Re: Scareforce One Makes Day Trip To Aberdeen
Following the Oh Noes releasing the WORST campaign video ever - Ehm just a wifie, I cannae think aboot all this politics stuff, eat your cereal - the day brings catastrophe from a different direction for Cameron:
http://news.sky.com/story/1326103/mp-douglas-carswell-quits-tories-for-ukip
MP Douglas Carswell Quits Tories For UKIP
The Conservative MP hands Nigel Farage a massive boost as he reveals he will quit Parliament and stand for UKIP in a by-election.
Conservative MP Douglas Carswell has announced he is defecting from the Tories and joining UKIP.
The MP For Clacton in Essex said he made the decision because he believes UKIP is the only party that can break up the "cosy Westminster elite".
Flanked by his new party leader Nigel Farage, Mr Carswell was cheered by supporters as he said he would take the unusual step of resigning from Parliament and fight to win back his seat for UKIP in a by-election.
Mr Farage told his latest recruit: "I think what you've just done is without doubt the bravest, most honourable and noblest thing I've seen in British politics in my lifetime."
David Cameron, who is in Scotland, was not told about his MP's decision
Mr Carswell was scathing in his criticism of David Cameron and his Government - accusing the Prime Minister of being insincere in his vow to reform Britain's relationship with Europe.
He said he had not told the PM of his decision in advance.
Speaking to Sky News moments after the announcement, he said: "I don't think they're serious about the change this country needs. This country needs serious political reform.
"They're not serious about making government accountable to Parliament and Parliament accountable to the people."
He added: "I know David Cameron is not serious because I've heard him say it."
He admitted that he could lose the by-election but said he would trust the voters to make their own decision.
Nigel Farage insisted Mr Carswell was not the only sitting MP who backed his policies.
He told Sky News: "I've spoken to people in the Conservative Party and the Labour Party who do not want Britain to be borderless, who think this is doing great damage to the working opportunities of people in Britain.
"I don't think Douglas Carswell is going to be considered an isolated eccentric - there are other MPs out there considering their options."
A Conservative Party spokesman said: "This is a regrettable and frankly counterproductive decision.
"As he's said, the only way to get a referendum on the EU is to return a majority Conservative government.
"The Conservative Party will contest the forthcoming by-election vigorously to make the people in Clacton have a strong conservative voice in this parliament and the next."
Sky News Political Editor Faisal Islam said: "This is precisely the sort of move that turns what might have been called a protest vote in May into something more substantial.
"Douglas Carswell is known for his views on Europe but he's also popular for a variety of reasons.
"The Prime Minister's up in Glasgow trying to keep the Union together and now he's trying to stitch his party together.
"And the old Conservative problem of Europe raises its head again, at the worst possible time."
If Cameron genuinely wanted a referendum on Europe, it would have happened by now.

They are rounding up beggars and rough sleepers in London. And helping them on a route away from rough sleeping. They don't actually say to where. Very scary, I don't think.

Re: Scareforce One Makes Day Trip To Aberdeen
The polls are peculiar, Sabot, they don't seem to bear any resemblance to what is happening at ground level. I tried to find out more about how they are being done; seems a lot of them are repeatedly polling the same people - via landlines. These days, people with landlines tend to be older, with long-term residences. Few people under 30-ish have landlines, for instance.
I don't know, I am not making predictions. But I've just put a bet on while the odds on a YES are still at 3/1, they're shortening almost hourly.
Just reading that:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2737535/Police-immigration-officers-round-dozens-rough-sleepers-central-London-crackdown-offensive-begging.html
I wish the people in eastern Europe and elsewhere could see that - the UK, or rather England, as that is where they all head for, is anything but the land of milk and honey.

Re: Scareforce One Makes Day Trip To Aberdeen
This is funny:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-28967716
Scottish independence: Tories cancel No vote 'champagne celebration'
A champagne celebration organised by a Conservative association in anticipation of Scots rejecting independence has been cancelled.
An advert for the event said an all-night party on 18 September would be "followed in the morning with a celebration champagne brunch".
The event has since been removed from the Dumfries and Galloway Conservative and Unionist Association's webpage.
A Conservative spokesman said the party was not taking anything for granted.
The event was to have been held at the Aston Hotel in Dumfries at a cost of £25 a head.
The spokesman for the Scottish Conservatives said: "We are not taking anything for granted ahead of 18 September.
"This event was not appropriate and it has now been cancelled."
Joan McAlpine, an SNP MSP for the south of Scotland, said: "The Tory toffs in the No campaign are obviously taking Scotland's voters for granted - just like in the days when they expected folk to doff their cap and tug their forelock.
"Despite cancelling this event under orders, the No campaign are obviously counting their pheasants and champagne in advance, which is very foolish."

Re: Scareforce One Makes Day Trip To Aberdeen
Remember, Sabot, this isn't just about the SNP - many other sections of society are backing YES. Apart from the Tories, of course, they're a lost cause.
The Greens and other left-of-centre parties are; the Lib Dems are split over it, and so, increasingly, is Labour.
It's most amusing; the Tories can't campaign for the Union, as they are generally detested and have only one MP in the whole country, so NuLabour has been wheeled out, which has led to them having to explain why Westminster Tory policies are so wonderful.
On top of that, the traditional, old working class Labour loathes the champagne socialist NuLabour, so the traditionalists are YES. And are following the NuLabour bandwaggon around the country, heckling them, calling them Traitors! Red Tories! etc.
It's interesting to see how ill-equipped spoiled and insulated Westminster politicians are to deal with an irate electorate.

I think I knew that Scotland has only one Tory MP.
The rest sound hilarious. I hope you win. And not just for your money.

It does to me as well, Lily.
It's a bit of a hoot only having one Tory MP though.
Okay, ED, tell us what you think of The LibDem Tory Pact?

I hope YES wins for the sake of the rest of rUK, because it will give Westminster such a kick up its corrupt backside, it might even start listening to the electorate and working for THE PUBLIC'S benefit, instead of their own.

Glad you said that, I've no idea what it was about, either. But it's always good to see governments getting sacked.
Oh, Dave's on the telly, warning us about 'terror attacks'. Frankly, if ISIS left the public alone and did a V for Vendetta on Westminster, I suspect many would cheer them on....

Oh My God. Get out your muskets and take to the beaches.
On second thought, the hills might be a better idea.
Actually, it's quite amazing how many of these attacks are stopped before they get started. We just don't hear too much about them.
