Nevada rancher V US Government
I think I just felt the ground rumble........oh, it's only the Founding Fathers turning in their graves.

Re: Nevada rancher V US Government
I was spellbound by the idea of federal government creating a 'first amendment zone' in the Nevada standoff; as an American commentator remarked, isn't the whole of the US supposed to be covered by that?
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/04/10/tense-video-feds-taser-pro-nevada-rancher-protester-during-clash/
I can see that going very badly wrong, not least because no-one seems to believe this stupid cover story about turtles, and militias are pouring in to support the farmer.
I won't pretend to understand all of what it's about, but it seems to me to be similar to what happened in Britain in the past when aristocrats seized what had been common grazing ground and drove off smallholders?

Re: Nevada rancher V US Government
The idea that a person can demarcate an area for First Amendment Rights flies in the face of everything. Do they want this idea tested in court?
Personally, I believe it is a big bullying tactic, and similar to what you said. However, where will this end? Whose land will be next......

Re: Nevada rancher V US Government
Now the Bundy ranch is a no-fly zone:
http://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_4_1687.html
What are the feds going to do next, send in drones to bomb the farmhouse?
And reading around, this seems to have naff-all to do with turtles, and a great deal to do with a dirty senator, solar farms, Vegas and Chinese investors.
Which makes far more sense than a row about turtles and grazing rights.

I think the Russian ambassador should go to Nevada, hand out some cakes and pies to the ranchers and their supporters. How could Obama possibly object after Ms Nuland showed the way?

Big problem - the world is watching this time; they aren't going to get away with a repeat of Ruby Ridge or Waco. And this time, an awful lot of Americans seem to be angry at Washington's efforts to trample on people's rights and the Constitution.

True Bonny.
This administration is the worst since I don't know when IMO. Nixon was bad but this? Those in power who behave in a decent manner towards the people do not have to act paranoid or thuggish like this.

That was one they saw that would make the ideal location for their multi-billion dollar project? That kind of a coincidence you mean?

I am sure it's just a huge coincidence, and the 'turtle' story is 100% true.

Of course the turtle story was true. Do you think people of that stature could possibly LIE? They are all heart let me tell you.

This is Alex Jones, who I usually don't listen to but he has the core of the issue correct.
The video is.......... Alex crystallizes Sen. Reid’s involvement in the Nevada land grab:
Actually this is stunning. Chinese Govt takeover of Ranch - via Harry Reid.
I think the poiticos have a problem.

Re: Nevada rancher V US Government
Embarrassing or what? Funny how the feds went off the whole idea as information about the Senator and China spread, isn't it, after all the concern about turtles.
And I suppose the hundreds of armed vets and militia helped concentrate federal minds enormously as well.
I hope they don't try any dirty tricks when the cameras go home.

They will try something else Bonny. There is too much at stake. Reid, greed and China being the first 3 things I could think of.
I saw this and thought it was funny.

Re: Nevada rancher V US Government
That sign just about sums it up, doesn't it?
Oh, he's going to get his cattle back! And the horsemen up on the hills with guns are the militia - from the look of them they weren't going to back down to the government.
Apart from the fact that I'm watching this unfold on a laptop thousands of miles away, again, I have to pinch myself to remember what century this is supposed to be.
And they're off to get the stolen cattle.

Re: Nevada rancher V US Government
It does sum it up. I know the guys with the sign and stuff look rough but they are proud Americans. I would hate to be on the wrong side of them at times like this, for that matter. Although I suspect they are kind hearted normally.
They will kick butt and then some and will go down dying for what they believe in. The Constitution is a sacred document to true blue Americans. Something that cannot be said for many in government leadership but that's something else.
It does look like its from a historic site, doesn't it?
I wonder what they are going to do about the cattle that they killed and restitution.

Re: Nevada rancher V US Government
Rough? Here, they'd look perfectly normal.
I actually cannot believe that the American government tried to mark off 'free speech' zones in America, it beggars belief. Scary thing is, the feds would have got away with this a few years ago. That deal between Reid and China would never have seen the light of day, and the militia couldn't have got there in time.
Doubtless Mr Bundy would have been shot 'resisting arrest' after his ranch caught fire, or something.
It's a shameful episode.

Re: Nevada rancher V US Government
Retake......okay, Bonny.
I guess he won't be Senator Reid for too much longer. Also, I doubt that the Democrats will hold the majority in the Senate as of this November. This is not going down well in the US one little bit.
What has happened is a prime example of the reason for the 2nd Amendment - the right to bear arms. It is to safeguard against tyranny.

I can only assume that Obama's government thinks it's immune to the same forces that have brought down monarchies and destroyed empires over the centuries. You can't keep treating people like sh*t and expect them to never fight back.
I've just seen a guy from Constitutional Security Force on the other live feed - now that's a militia
