I'd like to know what all the think tanks are doing.

Not thinking, that's for sure. Did we not predict disaster, on this tiny forum, a year ago, when all this started? And lo, it has come to pass....

Incidentally, if Obama does decide to 'ignore borders' as is being threatened....

Any bets on how long it takes for a US warplane to be shot down by one of those Stingers that went missing in Benghazi, or one of the MANPADS the US supplied to the 'nice rebels'?

What a complete and utter mess!

Doing so would require acknowledging that, in opposing Islamic State, the U.S. and Sunni Arabs have a common interest with traditional foes such as Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Hezbollah, which the U.S., the European Union and Israel consider a terrorist organization.

Putin warns U.S., West against arming organ-eating Syrian rebels

(CNN) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the West on Sunday against arming Syrian rebels "who kill their enemies and eat their organs," referencing a widely circulated video that purports to show a rebel fighter eating the heart of a dead soldier.
Putin's comments signaled a clear disapproval of a U.S. plan to increase military support to Syrian rebels, and his warning came just one day before he was to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama for talks at the Group of Eight summit in Northern Ireland where Syria is expected to top the agenda.
"I believe you will not deny that one should hardly back those who kill their enemies and eat their organs. ... Do you want to support these people? Do you want to supply arms to these people?" Putin asked, speaking to reporters in London after meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron.

The video referenced by Putin first surfaced online in May and generated outrage. The video, which was posted by a group loyal to President Bashar al-Assad, also raised questions abut the credibility of the rebels despite widespread condemnation of the act by the opposition.
Putin said those actions do not represent the "humanitarian and cultural values" of Europe or Russia......etc.

I've nothing against the Feebs, but I would have thought they had more pressing issues back home, Lily. Our borders may be a bit leaky at airports and Channel ports, but we're talking about people trying to sneak in in fairly small numbers.

They aren't just walking in in their tens of thousands as at your non-existent southern border.

Writing in the Sunday Times, Philip Hammond said it was horrifying that the perpetrator "could have been brought up in Britain".

Really? When so much of  the  'British' tourist trade is build on the public beheading of innocent people? What does he think this is all about?

The 'nice rebels' aka ISIS were being trained by the US in the killing of prisoners.

They were being shown how to commit war crimes - quite possibly on living human beings.

And now the west is bleating because the monsters they created are, predictably, acting like monsters.

BTW, the prisoners of war the US was training the 'nice rebels' to kill were regular Syrian soldiers, fighting for THEIR country, and the elected president of Syria. And Assad is elected, whether Obama and co like it or not.

Yet Obama now thinks Assad should let the US bomb Syria to wipe out the monsters the US helped create.

The hypocrisy of certain western politicians, and the western media, is sickening. The west is up to its armpits in innocent blood.

That reminds me, saw the most awesome program about the Tower last night.   

I confess, for ages I couldn't figure out how Traitors' Gate fitted in with the rest of the Tower - until I saw a mock up of the Tower in the days when it had a rather smelly moat...

I had a complete blank about how it all worked, LL, as the Tower is now moat-less.

When you get inside it is like a pool and then the stairs up to the actual Tower.

No wonder they drained the moat.....look at that small amount of water in there. YUK!

 As I remember, that was a landing area for barges to enter into the Tower as close as possible to the Bloody Tower; easiest to put the accused into the barge at Westminster Hall, where the nobles, prelates etc would be arraigned, and then go straight down the river to the Tower.   That way there would be no chance of a possible rescue attempt.   The Thames acted as a moat on that side of the Tower, then there was the inner moat, which is now silted up and I think covered by grass.   LL

Thanks LL.  I  do realize that and have been to the Tower a few times and stood on the green.  When my youngest (2 years old) was there for the first time, he loudly mimicked the orders being barked out by the guy in uniform...
