Second Turkish Gaza flotilla will have military escort, group says
Tourism minister calls on Israelis to shun Turkey, after operation to bring home some 3,000 stranded tourists.

The Turkish pro-Palestinian organization IHH announced that its second Gaza flotilla will be launched soon - and will be afforded protection by the Turkish Navy, Israel's NRG reported on Sunday.
The group's chairman told local Turkish media that the mission, titled 'Freedom Flotilla II,' was in the process of finalizing the legal paperwork needed to commence on the trip, and would embark as soon as it got the necessary permissions.
This fleet, as opposed to the group's previous one that was intercepted by the Israeli navy in 2010, would be protected by the Turkish Navy, he said.
Ankara, has so far not officially confirmed the report, according to Israel Radio.
In May of 2010, a six-ship flotilla organized by the IHH (The Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief) sailed toward the Gaza coast with the stated intention of breaking through the Israeli naval blockade and bringing humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza. There were over 600 Palestinian supporters, from several different countries, on board, one Israeli MK among them.
The fleet did not reach the Gaza shore; thirteen IDF soldiers were helicoptered onto the fleet's main vessel, the Mavi Marmara, and in the ensuing fight nine members of the flotilla were killed.
Israelis told to shun Turkey
A day after the government mounted an operation to bring home some 3,000 stranded tourists from Turkey, Tourism Minister Uzi Landau called on Israelis to find other countries to visit.
“Israelis don’t need to need to go traveling to places that don’t treat them with respect. If in the future the government proposes to rescue Israelis from Antalya, this won’t be a top priority for me,” he said, adding a message for the public: “Stop flying to Turkey as tourists.”
Should Israel attack that flotilla, if and when it sails, all Hell is going to break loose - they won't find it so easy to kill the Turkish military as they did the civilians on the last flotilla.

Ah, right.....the Israeli economy minister set my bullsh*t-0-meter off, bigtime. He kept repeating the same meme about 'human shields' they all come out with. Odd how not one of them has been able to SHOW the world this is happening.
He was getting rather irate when the interviewer asked him difficult questions about the reality of what Israel is doing to Gaza; worth watching if it goes online later on the AJ site.

Israel's real leader and navigator: Naftali Bennett
Israelis have cause for deep concern as Bennett, at the end of a year’s term, appears to be well on his way to achieving his dangerous goals.

Thanks, LL, very interesting. I'd never heard of him till a few minutes ago, but what I saw in that interview was enough to suggest to me that he's a wrong 'un and nasty piece of work.
The likes of him are going to destroy Israel in the long term, it's inevitable.

Expel Palestinians, populate Gaza with Jews, says Knesset deputy speaker
Submitted by Ali Abunimah on Sat, 07/19/2014 - 15:20
A relative carries the body of four-year-old Qassim Elwan during his funeral in Gaza City on 19 July. Qassim was killed along with his brother by Israeli shelling the previous day.
srael must attack Gaza even more mercilessly, expel the population and resettle the territory with Jews, the deputy speaker of Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, has said.
Moshe Feiglin, a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ruling Likud Party, makes the call in an article for the Israeli news website Arutz Sheva.
Feiglin demands that Israel launch attacks “throughout Gaza with the IDF’s [Israeli army’s] maximum force (and not a tiny fraction of it) with all the conventional means at its disposal.”
Force Gaza population out
“After the IDF completes the ‘softening’ of the targets with its firepower, the IDF will conquer the entire Gaza, using all the means necessary to minimize any harm to our soldiers, with no other considerations,” Feiglin writes in one of several calls for outright war crimes.
Following the reconquest, Israel’s army “will thoroughly eliminate all armed enemies from Gaza. The enemy population that is innocent of wrongdoing and separated itself from the armed terrorists will be treated in accordance with international law and will be allowed to leave,” Feiglin writes.
More racism, ethnic cleansing and genocide at link.

Re: Death in the Middle East
Reading this makes me sick to my stomach. He advocates removing all Palestinians and replacing them with Jews. It's called Lebensraum, only one step from what the Nazis did in removing the Jews and 'resettling'; them in the east - ie Auschwitz. LL

'Achieving Quiet in Gaza'[edit]
In July 2014, during the 2014 Gaza Conflict, Feiglin outlined steps toward "achieving quiet in Gaza." His plan included attacking all of Gaza, its infrastructure and military sites, without regard to civilian 'human shields'. After conquering and reinstating Gaza back into Israel, that portion of Gaza's "enemy population that is innocent of wrong-doing and separated itself from the armed terrorists will be treated in accordance with international law and will be allowed to leave." After again becoming part of Israel, Gaza would be repopulated by Jews.[34]
Ah, I've noticed a lot of them going on about 'quiet', I am not surprised it means driving Palestinians out of Gaza.
Incidentally, in the course of that interview, the Bennett person started ranting about the interviewer being 'paid by Qatar'. Well, yes, it's scarcely a secret that Qatar bankrolls AJ. But don't be surprised if the AJ offices in Gaza are 'accidentally' shelled; it's already happened to the RT crew, though they've managed to hang on.

Re: Death in the Middle East
Their plans are laid bare to the world.
LL asked about help for the children.....it is Eid in the M.E. They give large donations to charity and up the top is the children of Palestine. I know we would rather that they not need donations.
I now totally understand why Jews can travel into many of the M.E. countries but Israelis cannot.

Re: Death in the Middle East
Israel seems to have gone mad, Lily - or were mad all along, and no-one really noticed until now. They may think they are 'winning against terrorists', but they are actually sowing the seeds of their own destruction. How many 'terrorists' do they think they have created over the last few days? 100 for every dead child? 1000? And they needn't come crying to the rest of the world ever again after this, their only real ally is the US.

I remember seeing O as not being terribly bothered to be an ally but I guess things changed. Fundraising and the media might well do that.

Re: Death in the Middle East
The murdering barstards have killed and maimed women and children being sheltered by the UN now - the school is in a refugee camp. Oh, and they've targeted a market in the camp and killed yet more chlldren,
It makes you feel so angry and helpless to see this slaughter going on and be unable to do anything. Time the UN threw out Israel, they're no more fit to be a member than the Third Reich was. And charge the Israeli government with war crimes.

sraeli shells have struck a UN school in the Gaza Strip, killing at least 16 people and wounding scores more, after Israeli ground troops made a significant push into the territory amid Palestinian efforts to broker a 24-hour truce.
It was the second time in a week that a UN school sheltering hundreds of homeless Palestinians had been hit, with the latest violence pushing the Gaza death toll over 1,260.
Wednesday’s shelling hit the school in the Jabaliya refugee camp, Ashraf al-Qudra, Gaza's emergency services spokesman, said, confirming reports of the casualties on the 23rd day of Israel's military campaign.
The incident took the morning's death toll to at least 35, in a conflict that has killed more than 1,258 Palestinians, according to the Gaza's Health Ministry figures.
An official for UNRWA, the UN's Palestinian refugee agency, told the AFP news agency that the shelling hit a bathroom and two classrooms inside the girls' school.

If anyone wants to see EXACTLY what Israel is doing:
https://twitter.com/hashtag/gazaunderattack?f=realtime
But be warned, much of it is raw footage of the atrocities, not tastefully blurred images of death and dismemberment, as on the BBC etc.

Re: Death in the Middle East
As long as the US has big clout in the UN, Israel will stay a member and the children and their parents will continue to be blown apart. Netayhanu could stop this by lifting the Gaza seige that stops anything getting into the Strip. But he won't because he is as rigid and narrow-minded as Hitler was. LL

Re: Death in the Middle East
Good comment on CNN:
"'Hamas is responsible for all deaths on their side and on our side because they are the ones who kept this conflict going,' Netanyahu spokesman Mark Regev told CNN."
Apparently, Hamas is so masterful that it has single-handedly "kept this conflict going" by forcing the IDF to kill civilians.
The Nazis must be regretting they did not think of that excuse at Nuremberg. It might have got more of them off. ("It wasn't our fault we killed all those people in that Jewish ghetto in Warsaw, Your Honour. It was all those Jewish partisans in that uprising who were responsible for all those deaths, on their side and on ours, because were the ones who kept that conflict going.")
