Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
Poroshenko's week gets worse and worse....with no parliament and his 'country' a basket case, he has to go to Minsk. And very probably face Putin:
http://rt.com/news/182776-putin-meeting-ukraine-poroshenko/
Quote:
Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko said ahead of the talks said that he intends to discuss a peaceful way of regulating the crisis in eastern Ukraine.
“The intensity of the dialogue [in Minsk] will be very high,” said Poroshenko, adding that the key issue of the talks will be peace.
“The Ukrainian nation and I stand firm that a peaceful plan of [solving crisis in] Ukraine should come into force,” he added.
Kiev’s military crackdown in the southeast of the country began in April after the people in eastern Donetsk and Lugansk Regions refused to recognize the new coup-imposed authorities and demanded federalization of the country.
According to the UN, over 2,000 people have so far been killed and over 5,000 wounded in the fighting.
Perhaps he should have thought of that before he let Right Sektor thugs burn Ukrainians to death in Odessa; let his ragtag army of mercenaries and thugs use white phospherous against civilians; let them use ballistic missiles against civilians. And they're so inept they even managed to bomb a mortuary, never mind all the homes and businesses his thugs have destroyed.
And there's the little matter of the Ukrainian air force and MH17 - remember, Putin will be holding PROOF they did it.

Captured Russians: 'We Are Here As Cannon Meat'
Video purportedly showing Russian soldiers captured in Ukraine increases tensions before talks to try to end the conflict.
Another tale from Kiev that doesn't quite make sense; I somehow don't see Russian paratroopers behaving like this and bursting into tears. Time will tell.

I am tired of listening to it from our 'leaders' - as soon as they start, you just KNOW they are lying. And in the fullness of time, it always turns out that they are indeed. I wouldn't care if the whole dirty lot of them were thrown out, and sentenced to ten years' hard labour down a coal mine or something.

There needs to be some substantial punishments in place for it to stop in the future. They get financially rewarded beyond belief so that would be a good place to start?

http://consortiumnews.com/2014/08/13/ignoring-ukraines-neo-nazi-storm-troopers/
Exclusive: You might think a story about modern-day Nazi storm troopers attacking a European city without mercy would merit front-page coverage in the U.S. press, but not when the Nazi paramilitaries are fighting for the U.S.-backed Ukrainian government and are killing ethnic Russians, writes Robert Parry.
It's ISIS all over again. Just as for months - a year? - the Syrian 'nice rebels' were supposed to be Our Gallant Allies, despite the atrocities they were committing, so these scumbags and mercenaries are currently being supported by NATO. (I don't include the hapless conscripts, they are victims too.)
And I have little doubt that, as the days and nights grow colder, and the scumbags don't get what they were promised, they too are going to turn on their creators. Pity Nuland, Kerry, McCain and co will stay safely on their side of the Atlantic when that happens.

This is hard to beat for a stunning demonstration of Washington stupidity:
http://edition.cnn.com/2014/08/26/business/putin-poroshenko-ukraine-david-clark/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
Military analysts say that the date by which Putin could have safely hoped to initiate and complete a full scale invasion of Ukraine before the onset of winter has already passed, so the threat of an open military confrontation has receded and there is space to give diplomacy a chance.
1. Why on earth would Putin want to invade that failed-state basket case that the 'helpful US/EU/NATO have created in Ukraine? It's become the European equivalent of Haiti, with neo-nazis and a civil war as a bonus.
The morons in Kiev have even bombed the coal mines.
2. How on earth can 'military analysts' come out with such sh*te about Russians and winter? Have they forgotten the lessons learned by Napoleon and Hitler on the subject?
Cold weather is only a few weeks away. Putin doesn't need to do anything besides laugh and point as Ukraine further collapses, happy in the knowledge that the morons in Kiev are going to be too busy chopping up their grandiose furniture for firewood to bomb any more schools, bus shelters, morgues and coal mines.
Who are the 'military analysts'? Bimbos like Harf and Pzaki? Because real military types know all about Russia and General Winter.

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
Energy is another area of concern for Poroshenko. In the absence of a new agreement on gas supply from Russia, reserves will probably be insufficient to cover demand in the cold months ahead. Reverse flow from the West might help to mitigate the problem, but a harsh winter would leave Ukraine badly exposed.
No, it won't, because the German company that was supposed to do the reverse-flowing was bought by Russia a few days ago. 'Military analysts' really should know these things.
And Putin has something else up his sleeve - the truth about MH17. He's not going to keep quiet about that forever.

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
http://news.sky.com/story/1326116/ukraine-russia-has-invaded-the-country
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says there has been a Russian military invasion in the country.
He has cancelled a working trip to Turkey and called an emergency meeting of Ukraine's security and defence council.
Mr Poroshenko said it followed "the rapidly deteriorating situation in Donetsk region, in particular in Amvrosiyivka and Starobesheve, as an invasion of Russian forces has taken place".
Earlier the security and defence council said the border town of Novoazovsk and other parts of Ukraine's south-east had fallen under the control of Russian forces who were staging a counter-offensive with rebels.
"A counter-offensive by Russian troops and separatist units is continuing in south-east Ukraine," the council said in a post on Twitter.
It said Ukrainian government forces had withdrawn from Novoazovsk "to save their lives" and were now reinforcing troops in the port city of Mariupol.
It added that Russian forces and separatists were combining to launch attacks on Ilovaysk and Shakhtarsk, east of Donetsk.
Ukraine's Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk accused Russian President Vladimir Putin for having "deliberately unleashed a war in Europe" and called for an emergency UN Security Council meeting, a called echoed by Lithuania.
The US ambassador to Ukraine has said Russian troops have been directly involved in the fighting.
"An increasing number of Russian troops are intervening directly in fighting on Ukrainian territory," Geoffrey Pyatt wrote on Twitter.
"Russia has also sent its newest air defence systems including the SA-22 into eastern Ukraine and is now directly involved in the fighting."
On Wednesday a top rebel leader, Alexander Zakharchenko, admitted Russian troops were fighting alongside his insurgents, but said they were on "holiday" after volunteering to join the battle.
There has been increasing concern in Kiev and the West of Russia's direct involvement in the conflict -- a charge Moscow has repeatedly denied.
And as usual with Kiev says, there are NO pictures. No-one ever seems to have a cameraphone handy when Russia 'invades' the Ukraine - this must be the sixth or seventh time they've 'invaded'.
Truth is, the Kiev troops are totally fed up and deserting in their droves. The Right Sektor thugs run away if anyone shoots back, and the mercenaries aren't quite so cocky since the American one got killed.
Incidentally, doesn't the presence of American mercenaries give the rebels the right to bomb Washington?

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
Oh, phew, that's good, the Chocolate King seems to have changed his mind and decided that Russia hasn't invaded after all. Someone told him there were Russian speakers in the Russian-speaking part of Ukraine and he got a bit hysterical, yet again.
Now, there no doubt are Russian irregulars 'helping' in Donbass, but Kiev has NO room to scream about anything. One dead American mercenary is testimony to that. Allegations are also flying that Polish mercenaries are being employed by Kiev.
And assorted anti-Fascist movements in Europe are also sending people to Donbass.
It's like a re-run of the Spanish Civil War, with the supposed 'civilised west', US and NATO taking on the shameful role of the Condor Legion.

The world's gone mad, Lily. You know, there are causes you shouldn't have to think twice about NOT supporting, like crazed jihadists, neo-nazis and corrupt oligarchs....
If the west, the US in particular, had used the slightest bit of common sense, not to mention morality, none of these messes would be happening. I have little doubt that if Ukraine, Putin and Merkel had been left to sort out a way forward, there might have been a bit of street unrest from the neo-nazis, but that's all. Between them, they would have worked out some kind of federal deal for the regions, under which Ukraine benefited from both 'sides' by being a neutral buffer state.
Instead, F*ck the EU Nuland and her cookies came along. And it's been downhill all the way since then.

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
http://www.infowars.com/ex-cia-official-proposes-assassination-of-putin/
In a recent op-ed, a former CIA official suggested the removal of Russian President Vladimir Putin, by assassination if necessary, should be the primary objective of the Obama administration in its strategy for Ukraine.
Herbert E. Meyer, who served as a Special Assistant to the Director of Central Intelligence under the Reagan administration, said the goal of U.S. sanctions against Russia “should be to get the Russians who’ve been keeping Putin in power, or tolerating Putin in power, to throw that knockout punch.”
“If Putin is too stubborn to acknowledge that his career is over, and the only way to get him out of the Kremlin is feet-first, with a bullet hole in the back of his head — that would also be okay with us,” he stated.
Asshole. Can you imagine the outcry if a Russian speculated about the benefits of assassinating Obama.

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
The article continues.....
The former CIA official is describing a centuries-old tool of statecraft in which a foreign power creates discontent between the nobles of another country and their ruler to ensure the eventual overthrow of that ruler.
But given today’s explosive increase in tensions between Russia and Ukraine, which could very well lead to another world war, Meyer’s suggestion is particularly disturbing considering is it likely that current Western intelligence officials also share similar views.
And the destabilization of the Russian government with the loss of Putin will only create chaos in the East, chaos which can be exploited by the global financial elite who hold no allegiance to any nationality.
“Every major international crisis for the past century or more has ended with an even greater consolidation of world power into the hands of the few, and this is no accident,” journalist Brandon Smith

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
Like a great many other people, Lily, I've had enough of them destroying one country after another, and ripping at the carcasses like vultures. Obama and his corrupt gang don't like Putin because he hauled Russia back from the abyss after the drunken rampages of the Yeltsin years.
He also jailed a good few of the looters. And he famously ISN'T politically correct and has no intention of letting Russia be destroyed from within.
One of Obama and NATO's biggest problems now is that they can't get away with demonising entire nations, and then regime-changing and destroying them, any more.
Anyone who has the stomach for it can see for themselves the atrocities being committed by Kiev in eastern Ukraine. I've reached the point where I almost wish Russia would invade just to stop this appalling slaughter of innocents, and f*ck Obama and his lying and hypocrisy. The US caused all this - but hey, Hunter Biden really, really needs to get into the eastern region to frack it to Hell, so it suits ghouls like him that the residents are dead/refugees in Russia.
