The hypocrisy is astounding, Lily. What do they imagine the US 'advisors' in Ukraine are doing? The Blackwater mercenaries? The Polish mercenaries - and the American mercenaries like this clown:
that got himself killed in Ukraine? What, precisely, was a 55-year-old investment banker from Manhattan doing in a war thousands of miles from the US?
He's not one bit better than the US jihadists that have joined ISIS - how many civilians did HE kill before he got his just desserts?

There have been rumours, though nothing proveable so far, that certain western morons have been travelling to Ukraine for precisely that reason, Lily, and spending their weekends playing War. And paying handsomely for the privilege of shooting real people. Doubtless bursting into tears when the real people shoot back.

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
I came across a story in a blog about the war tourists going to eastern Ukraine to kill people - 'hunting humans', they call it, apparently. It didn't have a 100% link, though, so I won't post it here.
This does, though - on the subject of the anti-Fascist Europeans travelling to the Donbass area to help defend it against the assorted scum currently trying to wipe out the civilian population:

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
Same link, on the subject of the mercenaries fighting on the Kiev side:
Foreign mercenaries in Kiev’s service
After the UN Security Council on Thursday blocked Russia’s statement calling for a ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine under a completely frivolous pretext, Russia's envoy to the UN Vitaly Churkin had a heated debate with colleagues from the US and Ukraine, who again accused Russia of a full-scale invasion as a large number of Russian volunteers are fighting in Ukraine.
Vitaly Churkin fired back, saying that nobody ever tried to hide the presence of Russian volunteers, urging Washington to acknowledge the presence of US advisers in Kiev and why mercenaries from private military companies are waging war in Ukraine.
“Maybe our American colleagues can tell us what tens of American advisers are busy with in the headquarters of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine [in Kiev]? Let them tell us how many American mercenaries from the so-called “security provider” companies are fighting [in Ukraine], thousands of kilometers from their home ground?” demanded Churkin, not forgetting to mention first-rate US-made armaments observed in Ukrainian units.
Exactly one month ago, Russia’s Rossyiskaya Gazeta daily quoted Igor Strelkov, the former Defense Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, who claimed that as of the end of July, self-defense militia had eliminated up to 330 mercenaries representing a number of foreign private military companies.
Strelkov specified the casualties from each of them, saying that Polish private military company ASBS (Analizy Systemowe Bartlomiej Sienkiewicz) Othago lost 139 mercenaries, American Greystone Ltd, a subsidiary of Vehicle Services Company LLC belonging to Blackwater/XE/Academi, lost 40 fighters, while Academi itself lost 125 personnel.
The numbers are probably exaggerated, but they are undoubtedly there. So, who's paying them?

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
We may have better news today, though these reports are unconfirmed so far:
http://rt.com/news/183916-russian-paratroopers-released-ukraine/
All Russian paratroopers who were detained earlier in the week in eastern Ukraine have been handed over to the Russian side, deputy commander of the Airborne Forces, Major-General Aleksey Ragozin has confirmed.
“The negotiations were very difficult. However, common sense prevailed, and all ended well,” Ragozin said on Saturday night, cited by RIA.
“The most important thing - all the guys are now back with us, in Russia. I want to emphasize that we never abandon our own," he added.
From the very first minute the patrol was caught after accidentally crossing the border the Russian side was doing everything possible to secure their release, Ragozin said.
“Our guys feel sorry that this happened,” he said, adding that they will be provided with all necessary “psychological and other assistance.”
"I consider it unacceptable that for so many days our soldiers were held by the Ukrainian side and, moreover, were transferred to Kiev,” he stated. “At the same time, hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers who found themselves on the territory of Russia, after the provision of comprehensive care by the relevant authorities were immediately transferred back to Ukraine."
In the meantime, Ragozin announced, 63 Kiev’s troops who crossed into Russia this week have been transported to the Nekhoteevka border checkpoint and transferred to the Ukrainian side. The soldiers sought refuge in Russia on Wednesday and were accommodated in a temporary camp in Rostov Region, he said, and provided with all necessary help.
Kiev’s army announced August 26 that it had captured the Russian paratroopers after their incursion into Ukraine. The military officials claimed the 10 detained servicemen had crossed the border to fight alongside anti-government forces.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the soldiers had been on a routine patrol, which accidentally strayed into foreign territory without any hostile intent.
President Vladimir Putin reiterated that Friday. “In fact, this is the case, I’m talking seriously. I believe that they had just gotten lost because there are no boundary markers there,” the president said.
Putin also said that he had negotiated the release of the paratroopers with his Ukrainian counterpart during their meeting in Minsk, Belarus, earlier this week.
“I believe this is just a technical issue. Petro Poroshenko and I talked about this [in Minsk] and he affirmed that the Russian military servicemen would be handed back over to Russia, just as we continue to return soldiers [to Ukraine] from the Ukrainian Army,” Putin said.
Moscow has reiterated there have been numerous cases of incursions into Russian territory by Ukrainian soldiers. At least one incident involved an armored personnel carrier, and the soldiers were armed.
At the beginning of August, over 400 Ukrainian troops were allowed to cross into Russia after requesting sanctuary.
Russia has always been quick in handing back Ukrainian soldiers who’ve crossed into its territory, while giving sanctuary to those servicemen who wanted to stay.
The huffing, puffing and melodrama - not to mention yet more doctored tapes - from Kiev was risible, especially considering their lunatics have actually shelled Russia 'by mistake' and killed Russian civilians.

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
http://rt.com/news/184040-ukraine-putin-peace-plan/
Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on Kiev to start substantial talks on deescalating the crisis in eastern Ukraine. He added that it’s an illusion to expect that the rebels would calmly watch their homes being destroyed.
“We have agreed on a plan, so its realization must be pursued,” Putin told Channel 1 TV, adding that the Ukrainian government “must immediately start substantial talks – not a technical discussion – on the political organization of society and the state in southeast Ukraine so that the interests of people who live there are protected.”
Putin stressed that while the resolution of the crisis now solely depends on Kiev, it is impossible to say when it may end.
DETAILS TO FOLLOW
Why isn't Obama calling on Kiev to stop bombing civilians? Oh, silly me, vice-president Biden's son Hunter needs that land cleared so his oil company can frack it.
With any luck, Poroshenko will start to see the error of his ways as the nights grow chillier - his 'government' is already issuing instructions on how to survive winter without heating or hot water. And the trouble breaking out elsewhere in Ukraine will only get worse as it dawns on the Right Sektor thugs that they were used in the coup.

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
It's way past time the western media started reporting honestly about what is happening in eastern Ukraine, Lily. The only difference between Donbass and Gaza is that refugees can get out to safety in Russia. And I will leave others to decide for themselves what that says about the 'side' our leaders are supporting with such atrocious lies.
Russia is supporting these poor people when they get there - at least they are reaching a comparatively wealthy country. But they've still seen their homes destroyed, and frequently family members killed in front of them.
People would be well advised to stop watching the BBC and reading the Mail, etc - they're every bit as bad as Pravda. There are plenty of blogs written by people on the spot - though the pictures of what Kiev is doing are stomach-turning. They should also start reading financial blogs, find out the truth about sanctions, and the squeals coming from Europe as it plunges back into recession having lost one of its main markets.
Do they even know about BRICS? About the southern hemisphere suppliers only too happy to have a HUGE new market in Russia for their fresh produce in our winter?
I doubt it. They just swallow down this nonsense from our Leaders and convince themselves we are the good guys. We're not. We, or rather our governments, are doing some very wicked things indeed, and the lies being told about this are every bit as bad as the WMD lies about Iraq.
Putin's bad? Maybe - but he's a positive angel in comparison to the US government, with its Vice President's son, Hunter Biden, heading up a Ukrainian energy company that had planned to make a killing fracking the very areas that are being attacked by Kiev.

Was watching a political program this morning and had to walk away from it. It's the usual pack of lies being told no matter what the topic.
Thank goodness people walk around with their eyes glued to their cellphones. It keeps people in the dark.....

Re: Ukraine arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych
That's it exactly - you find you actually can't watch a lot of TV news, because it's blatant lies. Obviously, RT is pro-Russia, Press TV is pro-Iran and AJ is pro-Qatar, they make no secret of it, and you know what you're watching.
But this business of broadcasting outright lies is something else again. It always comes unravelled in the end, though, and people find out they've been deceived, which causes even more trouble than being semi-truthful with a pro-west spin would have. Because then people ask themselves, Well, if the BBC, or Sky, or CNN, or Fox, or whatever, have lied about this, what else have they lied about?

From:
http://news.sky.com/story/1327779/russia-warns-ukraine-troops-to-pull-back
Meanwhile, a Ukrainian military spokesman said a rescue operation was continuing for two seamen missing in the Azov Sea after pro-Russian separatists attacked a Ukrainian navy vessel for the first time.
Eight other seamen survived the attack and were being treated for wounds and burns after the vessel was hit by artillery from the shore.
Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko said the events of the past few days have shown that Russia has launched "a direct and open aggression" against Ukraine
Separatists in the region claimed responsibility for the attack on social media.
Writing on the site VKontake, former separatist military commander Igor Strelkov said: "The militia have dealt the enemy their first naval defeat."
Although pro-Russian rebels have been fighting government forces since April, this is the first incident at sea.
Separatists have made significant gains in several towns close to the Azov Sea in recent days and are said to have set their sights on Mariupol.

Russia’s foreign minister believes that the peace plan offered by the Ukrainian president is “unrealistic” and calls of the US and the EU to persuade Kiev to stop using heavy artillery and airstrikes against the civilian population in the country’s east.
“We assume that the most important thing is for Washington and Brussels to demand Kiev do the same thing they demand in any other conflict: stop using heavy artillery, aviation against the cities, against civilians; not to destroy schools, hospitals,” Sergey Lavrov said on Monday, addressing students at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

Moscow hopes that the Monday peace talks in Minsk will primarily be devoted to agreeing on “an immediate unconditional ceasefire” in eastern Ukraine.
Lavrov stressed there would be "no military intervention by Russia into the conflict in Ukraine".
The peace plan offered by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is hardly implementable, according to the Russian Foreign Minister.
“They have to sit down and talk, and not insist on unrealistic demands of laying down arms and letting themselves be killed. This whole peace plan by Petro Poroshenko is about that,” Lavrov said.
People really should stop believing every word that's in the western MSM, and read social media, and the many blogs from the ground in eastern Ukraine.
And rid themselves of the idea that we're the good guys spreading peace'n'democracy.
We're not; we're up to our elbows in innocent Ukrainian blood.
Also, if people bothered to read the blogs, they would know why the hapless conscripts - some teenagers, some men of sixty - Right Sektor thugs and foreign mercenaries which make up Kiev's army keep getting thumped by local guerillas defending their homes.

THOSE UKRAINIANS JOHN MCCAIN WANTS TO ARM INCLUDE NEO-NAZIS
"Give them the weapons they need"
by PAUL JOSEPH WATSON | SEPTEMBER 1, 2014
Share on Facebook2Tweet about this on Twitter3Share on Google+0Email this to someonePrint this page
After vehemently pushing to arm extremist militants in Syria, Senator John McCain is now calling on Washington to give weapons to Ukrainian forces that include ultra right-wing neo-nazis.
During an appearance on CBS’ Face the Nation, McCain was asked if the introduction of more weapons to the region would improve or worsen the situation. The Senator responded, “For God’s sake can’t we help these people defend themselves, this is not an incursion this is an invasion,” with McCain adding that Russia had committed an act of war.
“It’s a conflict that requires our participation not through American ground troops but our participation and our help and our leadership and that is what seems to be missing,” asserted McCain, adding, “Give them the weapons they need. Give them the wherewithal they need. Give them the ability to fight.”
Democrat Robert Mendez, head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, also told CNN, “We should provide the Ukrainians with the type of defensive weapons that will impose a cost upon Putin for further aggression.”
Representative Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, echoed similar sentiments, telling Fox News, “If we don’t provide ‘small and effective’ now, you’re going to get very big and very ugly later.”
Rogers’ “very big and very ugly later” warning is chillingly ironic given that it was the United States’ policy of bolstering extremist radicals in Syria, many of whom defected to ISIS, that led to the rise of the Islamic State.
McCain’s rhetoric about Libya collapsing into a failed state due to lack of prolonged U.S. intervention is also a stunning piece of logical gymnastics given that it was the Obama administration’s policy to fund and arm radical jihadists in Libya in the effort to overthrow Gaddafi that led directly to the country being overtaken by warlords and jihadists, many of whom later crossed into Syria.
McCain’s call to arm Ukrainian forces would see weapons transferred directly into the hands of what Foreign Policy magazine calls the “fascist defenders of freedom,” including the Azov Battalion, an “openly neo-Nazi unit has suddenly found itself defending the city against what Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko called a Russian invasion.”
fter once being derided as “Kremlin propaganda,” the fact that neo-nazi fighters are openly aligned with and fighting alongside the NATO-backed regime in Kiev is now brazenly admitted.
As the Telegraph reported earlier this month, Kiev is now deliberately working with armed neo-nazi paramilitaries on the front lines of the battle with pro-Russian rebels, men who proudly display SS tattoos on their necks in honor of the feared Waffen SS – the armed wing of Hitler’s Nazi party.
The same fighters who McCain wants to arm to the teeth also march under the neo-Nazi Wolfsangel (Wolf’s Hook) symbol and proudly espouse white supremacist doctrines while praising Hitler and denying the holocaust.
When the Ukrainian government was asked about their policy of supporting and using neo-nazis in battle, Kiev’s Anton Gerashchenko was unrepentant, commenting, “The most important thing is their spirit and their desire to make Ukraine free and independent.”
And that is precisely what the United States and Europe are attempting to do,” writes Tony Cartalucci, “begin shipping more weapons and other forms of lethal aid to continue propping up the regime in Kiev. By embracing the Nazi militants fighting on behalf of Kiev, and simply claiming Russia is “worse,” the West can repeat the strategy it used in Syria after it became apparent that militants fighting the government in Damascus were hardcore terrorists driven by sectarian extremism and aligned to Al Qaeda.”
Following last year’s coup d’état, Kiev also handed key positions within the newly formed government to members of the neo-nazi Svoboda Party, despite the fact that one if its top members, Yuriy Mykhalchyshyn, founded a think tank named the Joseph Goebbels Political Research Centre as an homage to the Nazi propaganda minister.
Given the fact that the rise of ISIS can be partly attributed to Washington’s policy of arming extremist jihadists in Syria, in addition to America’s closest “allies” in the region backing the Islamic State, the notion of sending weapons to radical neo-nazi paramilitaries in Ukraine represents another foreign policy nightmare waiting to happen.
McCain likes nazis and terrorists.

Some of the 'Russian invaders' McCain is so terrified of:
One can only assume that mercenaries and neo-nazis don't like it up 'em.

I get this bizarre feeling that, far from 'isolating' Russia, the US and EU are actually only isolating themselves - from all the other nations in the world that are sick to death of being bossed around.
