This is killing me. I haven't stopped laughing for days. Is there room in Scotland for all of the defectors?
PS. Love that suit. Who else would dare wear that colour? Where can I buy one?

We knew something would come of English interference in The Referendum, but even I didn't expect it to be this good.
When is The Election, by the way? Can't wait.

Re: Dis-United Kingdom General Election campaign officially kicks off
There's NO point in watching the BBC where Scottish matters are concerned, Sabot.
The BBC lied, lied and lied a bit more during the Referendum. The BBC blatantly spun/outright invented 'stories'. That muppet Murray, leader of ScotsLab, was never off BBC Scotland. The BBC simply did not report any stories that reflected badly on it, and the London establishment - like the huge demo against their bias, outside their own Glasgow HQ.
Al Jazeerah and RT are a much better bet for straight reporting on UK politics. What that says about the BBC and other matters, I will leave people to judge for themselves.

Re: Dis-United Kingdom General Election campaign officially kicks off
One of the worst mistakes the London establishment made was conducting such a dirty, dishonest campaign at the time of the referendum. And they're still at it. Here is today's offering:
http://news.sky.com/story/1458465/diplomat-denies-sturgeon-backed-cameron
Diplomat Denies Sturgeon Backed Cameron
France's consul general in Edinburgh tells Sky News the First Minister did not privately express support for David Cameron.
A senior French official says claims that SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon said she would rather see David Cameron than Ed Miliband as PM after the election are incorrect.
A Daily Telegraph report claims a leaked UK government memorandum - likely from the Foreign Office - sets out an account of a meeting between Ms Sturgeon and the French ambassador to the UK Sylvie Bermann.
The memo was written by a British civil servant after a conversation with France's consul general in Edinburgh, Pierre-Alain Coffinier, who was present.
But speaking to Sky News on Saturday, Mr Coffinier said that no preference for Prime Minister was discussed at the meeting in February.
"At no stage did anyone comment on their preference regarding the elections," he said.
"I didn’t say that. I did not. I don't know (how it ended up in the memo)."
Sky's James Matthews asked: "Did you tell a civil servant that Miss Sturgeon had expressed a preference for David Cameron?"
He replied: "No. No."
The memo reportedly said: "Discussion appears to have focused mainly on the political situation, with the (First Minister) stating that she wouldn't want a formal coalition with Labour; that the SNP would almost certainly have a large number of seats ... that she'd rather see David Cameron remain as PM."
t added that Ms Sturgeon said the Labour leader was not "prime minister material".
But in a direct tweet to the journalists who wrote the story Ms Sturgeon wrote: "Your story is categorically, 100%, untrue ... which I'd have told you if you'd asked me at any point today."

A spokeswoman for the First Minister added: "It must be a belated April Fool.
"As Nicola has said on numerous occasions, she wants to see the back of a Tory government which is decisively rejected by the people of Scotland and unlike Labour, the SNP is the only party that has promised to lock David Cameron out of Downing Street."
Mr Miliband said: "I think these are damning revelations.
"What it shows is that while in public the SNP are saying they don’t want to see a Conservative government in private they’re actually saying they do want a Conservative government.
"It shows that the answer at this General Election is that if you want the Conservatives out the only answer is to vote Labour for a Labour government."
Ms Sturgeon's performance in the televised debate has focused attention on her party's potentially pivotal role in forming the next UK government.
Tories described the prospect of a Labour government propped up by the votes of the Scottish nationalists as a "lethal cocktail".
The party said such an alliance would destabilise the country and undermine the economic recovery.
She was branded "the most dangerous woman in Britain" by the Daily Mail. Polls suggest the anti-austerity SNP could snatch dozens of Labour seats north of the border.
Meanwhile, campaigning continues into Easter with Labour unveiling a plan to build 125,000 homes by creating a £5bn housebuilding fund.
The Tories, meanwhile, are unveiling a pledge to force pornography websites to use effective age-verification tools to keep out under-18s.
Ms Sturgeon is due to join the annual Scrap Trident group march in Glasgow, only a short distance from the Faslane home of nuclear-armed submarines.
Any sane person trusts the French Ambassador and the Scottish First Minister over the lying sh*ts in the Foreign Office and a Tory rag like the Telegraph.
More like, ancient nightmares are being revived in Whitehall involving French Ambassadors and Scots-type people.
And notice, Millipede is too busy shrieking like an outraged maiden aunt to ask WFT the Foreign Office is doing leaking to the Torygraph in the first place?
They really shouldn't have lied and cheated a few months ago. No-one has forgotten.

Can they now see what they have done? I know we can. But are they in denial? That campaign was downright dirty. They must surely see that.
Actually, I can't quite put it all into words at the moment. And probably after The Election would be a better time to do so.

Re: Dis-United Kingdom General Election campaign officially kicks off
London doesn't seem to be grasping that the Scottish electorate nowadays are NOT a bunch of muppets, with no interest in anything beyond the size of Kim Kardashian's backside or who's shagging who in Eastenders. They are NOT a bunch of dumbed-down sheep. This started during the referendum campaign, with people turning out in their thousands for meetings and debates, and it hasn't stopped.
The majority of the Scottish electorate KNOW the London establishment is going to try every dirty trick in the book to cling on just a bit longer, as they did in the referendum campaign. And that is actually going to be their undoing.
That stupid 'Vow' was torn up as soon as the polls closed; the 'Scotland, we love you' guff turned into the most appalling, racist attacks - like that vile Guardian cartoon.
Look at that Tory clown Gove, calling Sturgeon a 'debutante' - the out of touch arrogance in that beggars belief.
They may finally be waking up to the fact that 'First Minister' is just the same as 'Prime Minister', and the First Minister of Scotland is perfectly entitled to hold talks with the French consulate in Edinburgh.

So, the whole thing was, yet again, a pack of lies from the London establishment - Labour Unionists or Tory Unionists makes no odds, they're both the same.

Sturgeon: Inquiry needed into false claims
Sat, 04/04/2015 - 12:17
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has today (Sat) said she will be writing to the head of the UK Civil Service, Sir Jeremy Heywood, following the publication of details of a UK Government memo on her recent meeting with the French Ambassador
The First Minister said:
“This story has already been shown to be 100 per cent untrue – having been comprehensively rejected by both the French Ambassador and Consul General.
“The real issue is how a second hand and inaccurate account of this meeting – which was not even attended by the UK government – came to be written by a UK Government civil servant and then leaked to Tory-supporting newspapers at the start of a General Election campaign.
“It suggests a Whitehall system out of control – a place where political dirty tricks are manufactured and leaked. And the Foreign Office now appears to be denying the very existence of such a document.
“I am therefore writing to the head of the UK civil service, Sir Jeremy Heywood, requesting an urgent inquiry into the circumstances of such a false account being leaked for transparently political motives.”
Note: France’s Consul General in Scotland, Pierre-Alain Coffinier, who was at the meeting with the First Minister, was interviewed today on Sky News – link below – and has made it clear the claims are untrue:

I must admit to ROFLMAO at this. It is a perfect example of both the stupidity and duplicity of the Unionist establishment that they have ended up with egg all over their faces.
And in a truly uncanny echo of history, have succeeded in annoying Scotland and France at the same time.

http://news.sky.com/story/1458676/investigation-ordered-into-leaked-sturgeon-memo
Investigation Ordered Into Leaked Sturgeon Memo
A report of a meeting between the SNP leader and the French Ambassador said Ms Sturgeon prefers David Cameron over Ed Miliband.
According to chatter, the LibDems are in the frame for this one, as Cameron foolishly let them run the UK civil service in Scotland, thinking not even they could foul up something so irrelevant. They then cooked this Cunning Plan up on the back of an envelope in a pub, which is why it was ScotLibDems no-one has ever heard of that did the first commenting on their own concoction.
It has, naturally, completely backfired, having been easily exposed as a total lie and general bollox, won the SNP a few more members, as even the most blind could see it for what it was, and got both the French and Scottish governments shouting at Whitehall in outrage.

Oh, and Millipede didn't bother to do even the most basic fact-checking. He and the SLabs jumped in with both feet, without even attempting to find out if it was true or not, and generally making tw@ts of themselves.

Re: Dis-United Kingdom General Election campaign officially kicks off
I should think that, privately, the French are absolutely fuming about this, Sabot. Someone has used them to plant a false, smear story in the Tory press.
This is currently the prime suspect:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alistair_Carmichael
Alexander Morrison "Alistair" Carmichael PC [1] (born 15 July 1965) is a Liberal Democrat politician and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Scottish seat of Orkney and Shetland since the 2001 general election.
He is the Deputy Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats and, since 7 October 2013, the Secretary of State for Scotland in the UK coalition government.
It is, frankly, a non-job these days, it just deals with matters when the Civil Services overlap. Like the FM meeting with French Ambassadors....
Cameron threw him that bone assuming not even the LibDems could foul it up.....but they seem to have managed to.
Remember, this meeting took place weeks ago, and suddenly became a 'bombshell' within hours of the big debate at which Ms Sturgeon triumphed.
And when the 'bombshell' was dropped, the Tory media rushed off to ask one Willie Rennie all about it. Who he, you may well ask - I had to check myself.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Rennie
William Cowan "Willie" Rennie (born 27 September 1967) is a Scottish politician and current Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats.
Now, why, logically, would they ask a nonentity like him about it, rather than the French Consulate, or Ms Sturgeon? Remember how often we've noticed in this part of the internet that whenever the haters find something obscure to be 'outraged' about, it generally turns out that it's them behind it?
Same principle.
On the plus side, Millipede and co proved that actually, they AREN'T fit for office, because they rushed to be 'outraged' without bothering to check if the story was actually true in the first place.

Re: Dis-United Kingdom General Election campaign officially kicks off
Well, you know my thoughts on the subject. And I ain't even Scots, although possibly by The Irish Connection.
There are more Mitchells buried in The Culloden Irish Grave than ever there were Campbells buried on the site of the battle itself.
But that is by the by.
I don't actually know why The French love The Scots. I just know that they do. But lies are lies anyway. And so easily proved.
My heart is feeling so good at the moment. It is emotive, and so it shall be.

Yes, of all the embassies in the world, it had to be the French one.
Unless even the thought of Scots and French having talks set off all kinds of atavistic terrors in Whitehall, of course.
