Oh, I realise the US takes religion generally seriously, it just sounds odd to European ears?

I found it interesting when I moved here.  I had never experienced the North-South issue before either.    I guess I had experienced a totally different idea of what the US is.  I love to learn about things though.

I am just reading round some US sites, concerning the fall-out from last night's debate, Lily.

I am glad to see that so many people have picked up on the way that Megan Kelly woman tried to stitch up Trump - is was exactly the same technique as the BBC use with people that aren't in their clique, or who don't stick to whatever script they deem acceptable.

And viewers don't seem to have seen the same debate as the political 'experts' - also a familiar phenomena.

I would like to see what he would do, Bonny, with a good V-P.  He's thick skinned so he can take it?

Lily, even if he isn't elected, he would be doing the US - and the world - a favour if he dragged all these scandals screaming into the spotlight.

That is what I am also hoping for.  He does't mince his words and could care less if people are offended.  The thing is that this is what many of the people are loving.

Not so much attention is being paid to Dem crowd pleaser Bernie Saunders, who - correct me if I am wrong - is rather like a US version of Corbyn.

Black Lives Matter activists interrupt Bernie Sanders rally

SEATTLE — A Social Security and Medicare rally at Westlake Park that featured Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was interrupted by activists with Black Lives Matter on Saturday afternoon.
As Sanders went up to the podium, activists took the stage to protest.

I was especially disappointed because on criminal justice reform and the need to fight racism there is no other candidate for president who will fight harder than me.

Doesn't make sense for the BLM loonies to disrupt Saunders, of all people, as he is sympathetic to their cause, does it?

BUT - BLM, and similar disruptive groups, have been caught red-handed being funded by our old friend George Soros. Who by sheer coincidence is very much in the Hillary for Prez camp.

When the crowd asked the activists to allow Sanders to speak, one activist called the crowd “white supremacist liberals,” according to event participants.

After waiting about 20 minutes, Sanders himself was pushed away when he tried to take the microphone back.

This is a good comment....This is the perfect example of why liberals (socialists) cannot run a country, if they can’t even control a stage how in the heck do think they can control a country let alone the military of the country. This is like the sixties all over again, only with social media, so you can see what the mad people are actually doing. And that ended with Nixon getting elected.

Ah, but socialists CAN run countries, Lily. It does tend to involve one-party states, and the military being given huge sums of money to keep the peasants quiet, however....

Bonny, after re-reading that comment even before I read your post after it,  I realized my error.  

The first 'dictator' most Americans have experienced is our present emperor so I think that comment is a result of that experience.  O is not the Commander in Chief as he should be......

If this keeps up, the Democratic convention looks set to be a repeat of Chicago 68, only with more gunfire.

I suspect that the BLMs will now keep on targetting Sanders, as he's shown how weak he is. Furthermore, I suspect that Hillary will have been absolutely delighted by yesterday's events. Because Sanders showed how weak he is.....

He was definitely competition to her.  Now, we will see if everyone's 'favorite' V-P decides to run....

Unless she decides to have him on her ticket....
