The reaction on Twitter was swift, and largely negative. Many viewed the mailer as a privacy violation. As the mailer notes, the information on it was pulled from public records, and that is legal, but printing the names and voter records like that, along with the implication that the neighbors are seeing the same information, is unsettling to some. The Iowa Supervisor of Elections does not actually assign voter grades like this mailer implies.

Which means some control freak in the Cruz camp assigned 'F' grades to the very people they wanted to support Cruz.....

It's not really a surprise that  videos of Trump One landing are so popular.

Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler confirmed to IJ Review that the mailer was theirs in a phone call Friday evening, saying that the targeting had been “very narrow, but the caucuses are important and we want people who haven’t voted before to vote.”

That is shameful behavior in treating adults like they are naughty children. Cruz has some of his records sealed?

I'm sure Trump could go to town on that stunt.

That really is woeful; between that and the threatening letters, is he actually trying to lose? Because the voting stunt makes him sound like a bully, and that email makes him sound like a pathetic beggar.

I know what it reminds me of - one of those chain letters that claim the original author will die of galloping leprosy if it isn't passed on.

Pate’s comments didn’t seem to deter Cruz’s attitude about the mailers as he brushed off the fuss, saying “I will apologize to nobody for using every tool we can to encourage Iowa voters to come out and vote.”

Incidentally, it is fine entertainment to watch Fox attempting to cover the election without saying the word TRUMP.

It is so interesting so far, Bonny. This campaign sure seems one of a kind.

I cannot believe what Cruz is doing. He sounds so desperate and the wording in those e-mails he was sending out are, in fact, illegal according to the Governor of the State.

I suspect Cruz thought he was the Anointed One, Lily - Fox and Breibart were both backing him, and have been left looking pretty silly, trying to cover all this without saying TRUMP.

I find it interesting that both Trump and Sanders are Washington outsiders, even though their politics differ. I wonder, do the talking heads and 'experts' have any grasp of just how sick fed up voters are of the Establishment - and not just in the States?

I think it fills them with dread, Bonny.
