Funnily enough, if I had Windows I would not upgrade to that. I have an iMac and their products are usually great. Who knew it would be this bad?

My PC keeps offering to replace W8.1 with W10 and I refuse to download it. I am hoping to get someone to download Windows XP off my old PC onto here. My lappy has Ubuntu/Linux. LL

Doesn't it have added 'reporting' involved? aka spyware or something?

This new PC was bought in April this year. The W10 upgrade came as part of the system but I still have to accept it. It pops up a small window every so often which I close down immediately. LL

Something like that, Lily. I confess, I didn't bother reading it all, as I have NO intention of installing it.
Mine isn't new, LL, it's W7 - Microsoft started trying to force W10 on me after one of its interminable 'updates'.

Of course any leader could call for the summit, and if Merkel waits too long -as she is wont to do- someone else should. But she is the best person for the job. No-one else who leads an entire continent looks ready to take this on, and moreover it’s her own country that quite possibly faces the gravest consequences of the crisis.
But Merkel DOESN'T lead an entire continent - she was only elected in Germany. She's just acting as if she is in charge of all of Europe....
ETA, that whole article is dumb; what's the point of an 'international conference' of the very people who caused this mess?

No, I didn't read all the comments, Lily. But that is one of the stupidest pieces I've seen on ZH for a long time. Not least because Merkel ISN'T in charge of Europe, she just acts as if she is. Not unlike one of her predecessors...

Latest multi-kulti news:
http://www.france24.com/en/20151109-16-french-police-hurt-clash-with-calais-migrants
LILLE (FRANCE) (AFP) -
Sixteen police officers were lightly injured during two hours of clashes with migrants in the northern French city of Calais, a local government spokesman said Monday.
He said the violence erupted late Sunday when some 200 migrants tried to block traffic on the ring road around the port city where thousands live in a sprawling camp hoping to find a way across the Channel to Britain.
They hurled rocks and other objects at police, who fired over 300 teargas grenades to disperse them, a police source said.
"It is the first time it has been so violent and we unfortunately have many colleagues injured," said Gilles Debove of the SGP police union.
"If one day there is a revolt in the camp, it will be madness," he said, describing the situation as worrying.
The interior ministry says the number of migrants at the slum-like "New Jungle" camp had fallen from 6,000 to 4,500 in recent weeks.
A source at the ministry said scores of people had agreed to give up their plans to reach Britain -- seen as a dream destination by many -- and had been bussed to other parts of France to be registered as asylum seekers.....etc.

Germany unable to house 300,000 refugees
Published: 09 Nov 2015 17:27 GMT+01:00
Germany doesn't have the capacity to house hundreds of thousands of the refugees set to arrive in the country over the remainder of the year, a study released on Monday claims.
Minister 'attempts putsch' over refugees (09 Nov 15)
Germany to speed up asylum deportations (06 Nov 15)
Sweden tells refugees to stay in north Germany (05 Nov 15)
The report by Ernst & Young argues that Germany currently only has the capacity to house around half a million refugees.
But with almost that number already having arrived in the country - and 380,000 more projected to arrive before the year is out - that means housing solutions are still needed for 370,000 migrants.
The report included a survey of 300 local authorities in Germany who estimated that a total of 870,000 people would arrive in Germany in the whole of 2015 seeking asylum.
Over three quarters of local authorities said that their greatest challenge was finding shelter for all the refugees who arrive at their door. Almost two-thirds also voiced fears over the lack of reliable numbers of arriving refugees.
Many local authorities are simply improvising when it comes to finding solutions, said report author Hans-Peter Busson.
"There is no middle or long-term plan, mainly because it is so unclear how the number of refugees who arrive is going to develop," said Busson.
A clear majority of local authorities are not planning to raise taxes to deal with the problem, but one in every four said that they would take on additional debt to cover the costs this year, while 40 percent said this was the reality they face for 2016.
I am sure Germans will be absolutely delighted to pay higher taxes to keep 'migrants' in milk, honey, etc - it's all for multi-kulti, after all!

Re: Hungary is new hot spot on migrant route into EU - Part 2
The novelty of multi-kulti appears to be wearing off....
http://www.thelocal.de/20151110/germany-to-reinstate-dublin-rules-for-syrians
Germany is once again sending Syrian refugees back to the EU country where they first arrived, in line with the so-called Dublin regulations, the government confirmed on Tuesday.
'Refugees must learn to respect German values' (10 Nov 15)
In August it emerged that for Syrian refugees, Germany had stopped following the Dublin rules, which stipulate that refugees must apply for asylum in the EU state where they first enter the 28-member union.
The move was in part to alleviate the burden on countries like Italy and Greece where hundreds of thousands of migrants have been arriving by boat.
But a spokesman for the Interior Ministry confirmed on Tuesday that Germany has now been applying the Dublin procedure for all countries of origin and all member states at which migrants arrive - except Greece - confirming this has been the case "for Syrian nationals, since October 21st".
At the beginning of October, Chancellor Angela Merkel called the Dublin rules "obsolete" as they put the burden on EU states where migrants first arrive to process claims for refugee status.
Still, of the refugees currently arriving in the country, few have actually been registered in another EU country before arriving in Germany....etc.

Immigrant to Germany and academic Ashley Nunes argues that refugees arriving in the Federal Republic must respect its values if the public's fears are to be overcome.
Germany unable to house 300,000 refugees (09 Nov 15)
Minister 'attempts putsch' over refugees (09 Nov 15)
Germany to speed up asylum deportations (06 Nov 15)
Two weeks ago, Klaus Bouillon, a politician from Germany’s reigning political party appeared on national television to discuss a recent visit to an asylum center. What he had seen clearly worried him.
Some migrants were insulting female volunteers simply for being women, some were refusing to eat meals because the women serving those meals were viewed as ‘unclean,’ and others were fighting to get to the front of the serving line when it wasn’t their turn.
When the moderator asked Bouillon why he decided to make these concerns public, Bouillon emphasized the importance of being truthful with Germans, saying, “we cannot tell the people that integration will be easy when it won’t be”.
The Chancellor, or ‘Mama Merkel’ as many migrants affectionately call her, has a different perspective. “We can do it,” she insists, a catchphrase that increasingly seems to instruct the ordinary Germans they will do it.
Merkel’s current stance on asylum seekers is a far cry from the summer. Back then, she told a 14-year old Palestinian refugee living in the north of Germany, “We can't accept everybody.”
Embracing that attitude today is met with accusations of xenophobia, a worry shared by Bouillon when he made some of his experiences known.
But this tactic robs the voice of large segments of the population who are increasingly nervous over what sudden large-scale immigration means for their daily lives.
Their discomfort is evident in public opinion polls that show waning government support in favor of anti-immigrant parties and growing concern over Germany's ability to manage the numbers of people arriving.
Better get those 're-education' camps ready, because people that think German women are 'unclean' are going to need more than a chorus of Kumbaya and a multi-kulti lecture to change their minds.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/nov/10/sweden-calls-on-army-to-help-manage-refugee-crisis
Sweden’s army is to help manage the fallout from the country’s refugee crisis, with the civilian administration struggling to cope with an unprecedented surge in arrivals and a top official claiming there is no room left, in the short-term, for migrants reaching Swedish shores.
On Monday, military officers were sent to help coordinate logistics at Migrationsverket, Sweden’s refugee and immigration agency. They will be involved at a management level, rather than on the ground.
More multi-kulti woe at link.
And how long will it be before the army has to control the mobs Sweden has asked in? Moonbat fools!

Re: Hungary is new hot spot on migrant route into EU - Part 2
It's going swimmingly for some - the manufacturers of pepper spray, for instance:
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-11-10/there-fear-germany-sells-out-pepper-spray-frightened-germans-buy-protection-against-
Despite occasional videos of angry Germans protesting at what has become the biggest "foreign invasion" of Europe since World War II, the German popular response to the wave of migrants, which is now expected to top 1 million in 2015 has been relatively calm. Fear (and anger), however, are building beneath the otherwise calm surface.
According to a report by Focus, following a 600% surge in sales over the past two months, Germany has run out of pepper spray, and the irritating substance can now only be purchased after weeks of waiting. Focus says that according to pepper spray manufacturers, "frightened Germans" have bought out all the available inventory. The alleged reason, according to the German publication: "die Flüchtlingskrise", or the refugee crisis.
Focus goes on to say that in private, Germans are equipping themselves "massively."
"There is fear" explains Kai Prase, managing director of DEF-TEC Defense Technology GmbH in Frankfurt, one of the major producers of repellents. "For the past six to seven weeks we have been practically sold out."
Compared to last year, orders have increased by more than 600 percent in the past two months. Only partial deliveries are possible Prase told FOCUS. The waiting period has already reached about five weeks.
The punchline: the reason producers and distributors give as the surge in demand is "the huge influx of refugees in recent weeks which has apparently unsettled many people."

Nightclub bans refugees for 'harassing women'

A club in southern Germany has started ejecting refugees from its premises, leading to accusations of racism. But it says it is simply trying to protect its female clientèle.
Germany sends Syrians back to EU borders (10 Nov 15)
Nazi terror suspect 'to break four-year silence' (10 Nov 15)
'Refugees must learn to respect German values' (10 Nov 15)
Last Friday the owner of Bucklyn club in Bad Tölz, Bavaria, told his bouncers not to let a group of young men into the premises.
The group had apparently done nothing wrong. The problem was that they were asylum seekers.
The situation escalated when a couple of local guests saw what was happening and accused the bouncers of being "Nazis pigs", according to a version of the story given by the club on Facebook.
But in the Facebook post the club admits to blocking entry to refugees in order "to maintain well-being in the club."
"This is a clear example of racism,“ Hamado Dipama of the Munich Refugee Council told The Local. "It is totally unacceptable to punish a whole group because of the actions of a few people – that is the definition of racism."
"It is absurd for them to treat people who come from so many different parts of the world as refugees do as if they were the same. It would be bad enough if they treated people who came from one country as if they were all the same,“ Dipama said.
However, the club sought to explain in its Facebook post that the it was not motivated by racism.
"It was never an issue for us what religion, background or skin colour guests have. Everyone comes in as long as he respects a few basic, self-evident rules,“ the post explains.
When refugees began to arrive in Bad Tölz early in 2015 the club had allowed them in just like any other customers, the post claims.
But young male asylum seekers began harassing women in the establishment, following them to the toilets or calling them "whores“ and offering them money for sex, according to the Facebook post.
The nightclub writes that it faces a dilemma. On the one hand it could ignore the problem and face losing more and more of its old clientèle, as women become more reluctant to drink there.
The second alternative is "to only let a limited number of refugees into the club. That way the girls can feel more comfortable" - but on the other hand they are aware this leads to accusations of racism, they say.
But for Dipama there is a clear third alternative.
"Of course it's unacceptable that women are harassed, but there are white men who also do this in clubs,“ he says. "So the club should react in every individual case when a women comes to them with a complaint, not make a blanket judgement.“
What are the moslem 'refugees' doing in night clubs in the first place - besides looking for German women to hassle?
I think I will believe the bouncers over the whiners and moonbats.

On Tuesday morning about 200-250 migrants surged onto the Port ring road to try to block it. Some of the refugees were seen throwing rocks at police officers.
“What’s happening is indefensible,” Jean-Marc Puissesseau, president of the Calais Port told France TV, adding that some trucks “were attacked with iron bars.”
“We are no longer dealing with nice migrants, but with troublemakers… Attacks against road users cannot be tolerated, because these are our clients…If this degenerates to guerrilla warfare, the reputation and turnover of the port of Calais will be hit,” he added.
Many local people in Calais say they are not comfortable living in such a neighborhood. About 4,500-6,000 migrants are currently living in Jungle temporary camp for refugees in Calais.
