The fact that their copyright piracy, and Gonzo's failure to do anything about it, means he has absolutely NO justification for whining about the McCanns 'damaging' him financially.

And he DID know about the pirated translations - somewhere back in one of the early hearings, there is a complaint from his side about ILLEGAL translations on the internet.

Incidentally, for all Gonzo's bombast and empty rhetoric, his threats are nothing but hot air under UK jurisdiction. Indeed, the last place he wants to be is in the High Court in London - they wouldn't give a flying f*ck about his imaginary honour.

Except for one thing - copyright theft, which is pretty much universal. His lawyers would be perfectly entitled to go after those UK citizens who illegally translated his opus and spread it round the internet.

Spot on and in fact, that might be the only money he wins out of this sham.

Mmmmmmmmm damage control? He knew his supporters were translating and placing it on the internet to 'get his word out' in defiance of the McCann's. Why doesn't he sue his supporters for placing the "any version" on the internet? Oh wait! it's called turning a blind eye so that he can claim "I didn't know M'Lord".

Words probably got to him that people are asking why he is wanting to sue for loss of book income, when he and his supporters where the ones making it available for free on the internet.

Ah, but he DID know - way back several years, at one of the early hearings, his legal team complained about the pirated copies. It was about the same time as one of Gonzo's legal geniuses announced that 'gerrymccannsblog', or whatever the Pamalan site is called, was run by one Dr. G. McCann.

If anyone wishes to wade through the old court documents on the Pamalan link, it's glaringly obvious that Gonzo knew all about the pirating. There were even Portuguese specialists in internet piracy in the court.

Looks very much like Gonzo was happy for his cult to spread his poison when he couldn't- and now he thinks he's back to being the Great Man, he wants them to stump up for that dubious privilege.

I decided that I would remove the translation if Snr Amaral asked or if it looked like he were to manage to get his own version published in English so that people would buy the book. It's been here a long time!
