An incident on a beach on the French island of Corsica on Saturday sparked clashes that left four people injured and three cars burnt out.
Witnesses said the brawl between locals and a party of bathers of Northern African origin began after the bathers objected to photos being taken.
Some of those involved were armed with hatchets and harpoons, a witness said.
The head of the regional executive, Gilles Simeoni, appealed for calm.
The French interior ministry issued a statement confirming that four people, including a pregnant woman, had received non-life threatening injuries as a result of the brawl.
Investigations had yet to establish the circumstances and motives behind the disorder, the ministry said.
The incident took place on a creek near the village of Sisco, Upper Corsica.
Tension has grown this summer between local communities and Muslims of North African origin in the south of France, especially following the massacre of 85 people by a lorry-driver in the city of Nice on 14 July.

The Swiss police still haven't named their thankfully-dead killer, Lily, or shown a picture of him. So now, it doesn't matter what they say, no-one will believe it, it will be regarded as just another cover-up for a revolting crime that had Nothing To Do With Islam.

Quite rightly so. It isn't always what people say, but what they leave out.

Terrorism in Australia:
http://news.sky.com/story/british-backpacker-stabbed-to-death-at-queensland-hostel-10549504
A British backpacker has been stabbed to death at a hostel in Australia by a man who allegedly shouted "Allahu Akbar" as he attacked her.
Police said they found a "terrible scene" when they arrived at the scene of the knife attack in Home Hill, north Queensland.
Two men were injured, including a 30-year-old Briton who was taken to Townsville Base Hospital where he is reportedly in a critical condition.
A dog was also killed in the attack, which happened at around 2.15pm (11.15pm local time) on Tuesday and was witnessed by up to 30 people.
Police have arrested a 29-year-old Frenchman and recovered a knife, which they believe was used in the attack.
Investigators said they were probing possible extremist links, while mental health issues and drug use were also lines of inquiry.....etc.
Oh, a 'mentally ill Frenchman' this time, is it? IMO, it takes a bit more than a passport to make someone 'French' - Jesus was born in a stable but he wasn't a horse.
And killing a dog? The religion of peace is notorious for its cruelty to animals, especially dogs.

Re: SHOOTING AT MUNICH SHOPPING CENTER
http://news.sky.com/story/car-containing-gas-cylinders-found-near-paris-notre-dame-10568689
An abandoned car containing gas cylinders was found near Notre Dame cathedral in Paris on Saturday night, a French police official said.
The owner of the Peugeot 607, who was arrested on Tuesday, is on a watchlist of people suspected of religious radicalism, the official said.
Another person is reported to have been detained by police.
The police official said it was believed the owner of the car may have been trying to carry out a "test run" for a terror attack.
French police said the car had no registration plates and it was found with its hazard lights flashing.
The vehicle contained seven gas cylinders, one of which was empty and placed on the front passenger seat.
There was no detonating device present, an official added.
La Parisien reports that a book written in Arabic was found at the scene.
The security alert comes after a warning from the head of the French domestic intelligence service, Calvar Patrick, that Islamic State could use booby-trapped vehicles to attack France.
In July, Mr Patrick said: "I am sure that they will move to the level of vehicle bombs and explosive devices and they will thus increase their power.
"They are going to send in squads whose mission will be to organise terrorist campaigns without necessarily mounting assaults that will end with their deaths."
France has been under a state emergency since the November 2015 attacks on Paris that killed 130 people and injured hundreds.
The state of emergency was extended for six months after the Bastille Day attack in July, in which 86 people were killed when a truck ploughed into a crowd in Nice.
Less than a fortnight later two young jihadists murdered a priest near the northern city of Rouen.

BRUSSELS TERROR THREAT: EU Parliament bomb-proofed to counter lone wolf attacks
EXCLUSIVE: THE European Parliament in Brussels is being clad with bomb proof glass amid warnings from insiders that inadequate security makes it a soft target for lone wolf jihadis, express.co.uk can reveal.
Eurocrats have ordered a major upgrade of the complex’s defences following a series of Islamist terror attacks across the continent, including in the Belgian capital.
Staff were sent an internal memo, seen by express.co.uk, announcing the major renovation which will see four buildings at the Espace Leopold fitted with reinforced glass.
Insiders at the parliament warned the complex could be an easy target for lone wolf jihadis, giving examples of lax security and design weaknesses with the buildings.
The main parliament building, which is made almost entirely of glass, is packed with around 6,000 staff looking after the workings of the assembly every day.
An insider said: “You could easily drive a vehicle right up to the building, and we know how ISIS use car bombs.
“The security at the parliament seems pretty lax at times.”...etc.
And why, pray tell, should the very people who have caused this get more protection than members of the public?
No, take ALL their security away. Let them face the same risk from their islamist pets as the rest of the public have to.
It should help concentrate their minds enormously. And I do hope they're not kidding themselves that their privileged hides are more valuable than the rest of us?

Re: SHOOTING AT MUNICH SHOPPING CENTER
http://news.sky.com/story/three-women-held-in-paris-planned-to-attack-railway-station-this-week-10570925
Three women arrested in connection with a car loaded with gas canisters were planning to attack a Paris railway station this week, according to French authorities.
France's interior ministry said: "An alert has been issued to all stations but they had planned to attack the Gare de Lyon on Thursday."
Gare de Lyon is a station three miles from Notre Dame cathedral, where the car was discovered on Saturday.
The boyfriend of one of the women was detained overnight, bringing the number of people being held over the alleged plot to five.
French President Francois Hollande said: "A group has been destroyed, but there are others. An attack has been foiled."
The youngest of those held, aged 19, is said to have written a letter pledging allegiance to Islamic State.
Shouts of 'Allahu Akbar' were heard on video footage of the women's arrests.
One of the women - thought to be the teenager - stabbed a police officer during her arrest before being shot and wounded.
TV footage showed a policeman leaving the scene of the arrests on the outskirts of Paris carrying a large knife.
The officer's injuries are not life-threatening.
The car also contained three jerry cans of diesel and was found with its hazard lights on.
Interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve said: "These three women aged 39, 23 and 19 had been radicalised, were fanatics and were in all likelihood preparing an imminent, violent act."
The 19-year-old's father was arrested and later released after reporting his daughter had gone missing with the Peugeot 607 car.

Merkel continues to publicly defend her "open border" immigration policies despite continued erosion of her popularity amid rising nationalist sentiments in Germany and across the EU. Meanwhile, Germany is preparing to deploy troops within its borders for the first time since World War II amid growing fears that the potential for a large-scale terrorist attack is "conceivable, even probable," at least according to Lt. Gen. Martin Schelleis.
Concerns of a potential threat come as nearly 30,000 asylum seekers continue to flood the country each month from Syria alone (see chart below). Overall, Germany took in about 2.1 million immigrants last year and over half of them were refugees. .....etc.
Well done, Merkel!

http://news.sky.com/story/extra-security-amid-fears-of-a-terror-attack-at-oktoberfest-2016-10581502?dcmp=snt-sf-twitter
The world's biggest beer festival has been enclosed for the first time in its history amid fears of a terror attack.
Backpacks and large bags have been banned at Munich's Oktoberfest, which has opened with long queues to get into the beer tents.
Fencing off the 75-acre Theresienwiese site means that every visitor has to go through security checks, carried out by a team of 450 guards.
During peak periods, 600 police officers will also be on duty - about 100 more than last year.
The number of security cameras has risen from 19 to 29. ..etc.
Hope they remember to thank Ma Merkel for enriching their lives like this.
