Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
Looking at today's hoo-ha, I cannot help thinking Obama only pardoned Manning because Manning decided to change sex. If 'she' had stayed a bloke, 'she' would have done the full stretch......

Obama uses his final press conference to issue extraordinary warning to Trump that he will step in if he 'rounds up' children for deportation, hits voting rights or 'silences dissent'

ASSANGE RENEGES ON PROMISE
WikiLeaks' Julian Assange retreats from extradition pledge
PARIS (AP) — WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange retreated from his pledge to accept extradition to the U.S. if Chelsea Manning was granted clemency, arguing Wednesday via his lawyers that what he was really asking for was an immediate pardon for the ex-Army analyst.
It was only last week that Assange raised eyebrows across the internet when he appeared to offer himself up as a kind of swap for Manning, the former private convicted of leaking the hundreds of thousands of documents that made WikiLeaks a household name.
"If Obama grants Manning clemency Assange will agree to US extradition despite clear unconstitutionality of DoJ case," WikiLeaks said, apparently referring to the U.S. Department of Justice's continuing investigation into the radical transparency website.

No, not a good move by Assange - it gives the impression he's splitting hairs over legal terms.

Indeed it does - I sense he has been hoisted by his own petard. Do you think he hears the gods laughing? LLbb1 wrote:No, not a good move by Assange - it gives the impression he's splitting hairs over legal terms.

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
Yes, I agree, it's a bad mis-step. I wonder, will he re-think it, and leave the embassy when Manning is released, and the new administration is safely established in Washington?
I confess, I have lost track of what it is he is supposed to have actually done; the 'rape' allegations that were actually arguments over condoms look ludicrous in the light of Sweden's treatment of actual vicious rapists.
The idea that it was Assange in person who was putting recent Wikileaks online is also ridiculous, as anyone, anywhere in the world, with a thumbdrive and free Wifi could have been doing it.

This Queer Dance Party Outside Mike Pence’s House Looks Way More Fun Than Trump’s Inauguration
Actually, no, it doesn't look like 'fun'. It looks like the usual freak show making pests of themselves outside an empty house (Pence is in Washington), annoying his neighbours, and still failing to grasp they are a large part of why Trump won....

And I am sure the US Air Force will be delighted to have him on board, after eight years of the Obama clan's sulks, rudeness and general disrespect.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/01/18/cnn-airs-segment-saying-obama-admin-keep-power-trump-pence-blown-inauguration-day/
On the Wednesday, January 18 broadcast of CNN’s The Situation Room, host Wolf Blitzer aired a segment with a chyron featuring the headline “Developing Now.” During that “developing” segment, Blitzer and correspondent Brian Todd discussed what would happen if the unthinkable occurred on January 20.
Blitzer introduced the segment, saying, “What if an incoming president and his immediate successors were wiped out on day one?” and from there, CNN contributor Brian Todd took over to outline the line of succession if an attack blew up the inaugural dais, killing both Trump and Pence.
What on EARTH is wrong with CNN these days? They used to be one of the world's most respected media outlets. Were they so indulged in the Obama years, they thought it would go on forever?

http://news.sky.com/story/wikileaks-julian-assange-ready-to-go-to-us-amid-chelsea-manning-release-decision-10734900
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who has feared extradition to the United States, says he stands by his offer to go to America.
It comes after President Barack Obama's decision to reduce Chelsea Manning's 35-year jail term to about seven years served, meaning she is set to be freed in May.
Mr Assange welcomed the move to release the ex-US soldier who was imprisoned for handing over classified documents to the anti-secrecy organisation.
He's probably safe after midday tomorrow. But he should keep an eye out for enraged Hillbots seeking revenge.

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-01-19/after-snubbing-obama-russia-invites-incoming-trump-administration-syria-peace-talks
Three weeks after John Kerry's State Department was humiliated one last time when Russia, Turkey and Syria sat down alone, demonstratively without inviting the US, to discuss the terms of a proposed Syrian ceasefire, Russia has already offered a diplomatic fig leaf to the incoming Trump administration when Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the press Russia has invited the United States to take part in the upcoming talks on Syria,
"As I said yesterday, we have already invited the US," Lavrov told journalists in Moscow on Thursday.
And since the meeting on the Syrian settlement is scheduled to take place in the Kazakh capital of Astana on January 23, three days after Trump takes over, the implication is clear: the invite is for the Trump administration only. Lavrov confirmed:
“We think it would be the right thing to invite the representatives of the UN and the new US administration to the meeting,” Lavrov had said on Wednesday, at a press conference summing up the results of Russian foreign policy in 2016.
Ouch! Well, at least they can be sure that Trump won't be arming ISIS, Al Quaeda, and other terrorist scum.

I bet Melanie's really upset that Michelle's 'stylists' don't want to work with her....
She looked quite decent in simple, well-cut clothes, but more often than not, these frills, belts, cardigans and patterns made Michelle look as if she'd got dressed in the dark.
PS - I hope the White House clean-up crew check under the bed for any wigs she may have forgotten, wouldn't like Barron to get a nasty fright.....
