I wonder, do all these disgusting Portuguese pitchforkers that hog CMTV also double as 'wonderful translators' on internet hate sites?
Absolutely appalling; if this is Portugal's idea of 'justice' I suggest building a barbed-wire-topped wall around the place, with lots of warning signs about Portugal being unaware that it is a 21st century European nation, and is doing its best to revert to its glory days of the Inquisition and witch-burning.

Something is very wrong, IMO, Lily, that people like Anjos and co are going on Portuguese TV and actively lying, smearing and feeding the hate machine.
I don't know what the answer is, but it is glaringly obvious that neither the McCanns, or anyone else that falls foul of these people, can have a reasonable expectation of anything resembling normal justice in Portugal.
It is utterly shocking.

Re: Gonzo's appeal
Now, the McCanns face a huge legal bill — as well as the agony caused by the book’s continued availability. Their feud with Amaral has become a running sore that may yet empty the much-depleted Madeleine’s Fund.
The ruling also raises questions about the impartiality of the Portuguese courts in a highly politicised case that saw prime ministers from Tony Blair onwards intervening at one level or another to assist in the investigation.
There is continuing widespread and bitter resentment towards the McCanns in Portugal because of the case’s impact on tourism in the Algarve.

Oopsie!
Glad we aren't the only ones just asking questions and all that.
And yes, we've all seen the leather-faced ex-pats of PDL, more concerned about their property values than a missing child - or justice. They'd say ANYTHING to make a buck, from what we've seen on TV.

Yes, Pedro.
Few will weep tears for Amaral, seeing an angry man locked up in his own bitter and baseless theories.
That sums him up perfectly, IMO. And the whole squalid episode does raise HUGE questions about the impartiality of Portuguese courts. Anyone but the thickest, most bigoted hater can see that that verdict drove a coach and horses through the most basic, accepted principles of human rights in 21st century Europe.
Furthermore, that CMTV show was quite disgusting, nothing but lies, smears and rabble-rousing to stir up a lynch mob, IMO.

bb1, your words are mine.
that judge, due to his disgusting behaviour, obviously, does not know nothing of PT Law, because it is also obvious that he doesn´t understand the meaning of removal of arguido status : which means: no longer suspect, also means: completely cleared, their innocence proved.

I know the thicko forkers celebrated that bizarre 'judgement', but it left anyone with an IQ greater than their shoe size wondering what it is that the Portuguese Establishment are so desperate to cover up.

I think a rebuttal book should be made to be sold alongside amarals. It would sell.
Oh, I'd go further than that. I would like to see, say, the Daily Mail buy the rights to it - and treat it as the now-unbanned Mien Kampf has been treated in Germany.
With line-by-line rebuttals, and explanations by genuine experts of exactly why Gonzo is not only a liar, he was too STUPID to understand anything at all about DNA, etc., or why the UK police were so horrified by his deranged gibbers.
Oh, and that Gonzo rushed to make the McCanns arguidos with NO evidence in full knowledge that in a few days, the law was about to be changed, and he couldn't have done something so vicious under those laws.
It could also be explained that a lynch mob was whipped up by the Portuguese tabloids. Oh, and that just hours before Madeleine McCann went missing, Gonzo himself was being made an arguido because of his conduct in another missing child case.
I am sure readers would be fascinated to find out that in any normal country, Gonzo would never have been allowed anywhere near another missing child case while he was under suspicion himself.
Yes, an expose of Gonzo's incompetence and proven mendacity would be a breath of fresh air to UK audiences.
Mayhap the Sun could do a couple of pullouts about his private life at the same time, let UK readers see the truth about the haters' idol?

if this idea happens, if amaral issue a complaint about it, an answer should be appeared: since you amaral used your free speech to create lies, smears, defamation about innocents, we can also use the same free speech to expose the truth about you, with one difference: everything written against you amaral, is the truth about the nasty person you are.

If honour is the bench mark of Portuguese Law, how is it possible for the honour of the victims of a criminal to be weighed and found less than the honour of a convicted torturer (Almeida) or a convicted perjurer (Amaral).
How is it possible for there to be no evidence against you ... for you never to have been charged with any crime ... never to have been put on trial for any crime ... yet a Portuguese court feels free to impugn your honour by apparently denying your innocence.
Exactly. That piffle reads more like the work of some of the Hounders' 'wonderful researchers' than genuine, qualified judges. No wonder that, now the first horror has worn off, so many people are laughing at 'Portuguese justice'.

Who lied in the Maddie case? The answer lies in the account of former inspector Gonçalo Amaral. All the fanciful and never-proved theses that a certain press has spread are in his book. And they continue without any evidence to support them.
Gonçalo Amaral must be a man full of himself. It was responsible for a calamitous investigation in the 'Maddie case', but according to the balance that he does, everyone was to blame except him.
According to Gonçalo, the McCanns' apartment was not protected, from the British police who did not give all the collaboration, from the journalists who were hindered, from the Government of His Majesty that pressured, from the Portuguese Government that allowed itself to be pressed , Of the prosecutors, of the leaders of the PJ, of the conspiracy of the powerful, and - if they let him continue to vent - the CIA, Freemasonry, Opus Dei, Trilateral, Bildberg and Pope remain, habitual suspects in conspiracy theories Circulating on the Internet.
The same inspector should not be inhibited (not to mention embarrassed), because after the suspicions about him fall due to the conduct of the 'Joana case' (another missing girl whose mother, convicted of her death, accuses PJ of To have tortured), and to the disaster of the 'Maddie affair', he assembles himself into a national hero and holds the truth, against everything and against all, and maintains an absurd theory that does not withstand a minimally structured analysis.
Amaral also should not have thought that it was not good for him to speak and write in detail about a process that - although violated abundantly - is still in secrecy of Justice. Or that it does not suit you to be a judge on your own.
But the most interesting thing about the former inspector's book is to learn where the celebrated 'lies' of social media are born. Finally, it turns out that the most disheveled theses came out of that enlightened brain. And that certain newspapers, for want of better, published without contradiction, without investigation, without logic and without evidence.
But Goncalo continues to affirm his 'conviction' that Maddie died in the apartment. He must have inherited from medieval justice this idea of 'conviction' without proof; Or from Alice, from Carrol, the idea that one first cuts off his head and then makes the judgment; Or 'O Estrangeiro', of Camus, the fixation on the importance of the "facies" of the criminal or of the fact of crying or not before death.
The rule of law is based on the test, beyond doubt. The idea that innocence prevails over guilt-when there is no evidence to the contrary-separates civilization from barbarism.
Unfortunately, we have remnants of barbarism between us. Until recently, he was head of PJ de Portimão. I hope it was the last one.

Those 'judges' have brought ridicule down on their own heads, IMO, Sabot.
If the Old Boys' Club wanted to assist Gonzo, then they should have stuck to some guff about their imaginary Free Speach. Instead, we have been treated to emotional incontinence about Gonzo's non-existent 'honour' and forum myths being repeated as Troo Facts.
And crowning it all, the most appalling insult to the McCann family, which flies in the face of established law in normal Western civilizations - not to mention logic.
Dunno, maybe Gonzo's chum Cristovao has more of his notorious 'dossiers' in which the judges play starring roles?
Not accusing, just asking questions.......

Maddie McCann parents considering legal action as TV show appears online in English
MADELEINE McCann’s parents were last night considering legal action over a TV show about their missing daughter.
374
By Jerry Lawton / Published 16th February 2017
The programme appeared on the internet in English after the couple spent nine years trying to ban it.
It was made in Portugal to accompany ex-detective Goncalo Amaral’s controversial book about the three-year-old’s 2007 disappearance.
In it Mr Amaral, 57, repeats claims about events in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz.
Parents Kate and Gerry launched a legal bid for a lifelong gagging order on the show and book, and £1million in libel damages.
The couple, both 48, who believe their daughter was abducted and may still be alive, said his claim she was dead had hampered the search.
Both the programme and book were outlawed, and in 2015 Mr Amaral was ordered to pay them 500,000 euros (£430,000) in damages by a Portuguese judge.
But the award was overturned, and both the book and a DVD of the show are back in circulation.
The McCanns have been ordered to pay Mr Amaral’s legal costs, which could wipe out the fund set up to find their daughter.
He is said to be seeking a British publisher to release his book in the UK for the first time.
Now the TV show has appeared on YouTube with an English voice-over.
Last night the McCanns’ lawyers, London libel specialists Carter-Ruck, were considering legal action.
The couple’s spokesman said: “Any potentially defamatory material found online will be reviewed and assessed by Kate and Gerry’s lawyers.”
During their legal battle against Mr Amaral one of the McCanns’ lawyers, Ricardo Correia Afonso, said in court: “His book is written like a novel and that’s exactly what it is.’’
That liefest from CartofMuck telly was just disgusting, real rabble-rousing, witchburning stuff.
Naturally, the Gonzo-worshippers lapped up every word, due to being a. Thick and nasty b. Ignorant bigots.

KATE and Gerry McCann may sue over a “lunatic conspiracy theory” video that blames them for Madeleine’s disappearance.
The heartbroken parents face fresh turmoil after a controversial TV documentary based on ex-cop Goncalo Amaral’s shocking book ‘The Truth of The Lie’ emerged on YouTube.
Madeleine’s parents – who are preparing themselves for the tenth anniversary of their daughter’s disappearance in May – are now considering legal action against the show.
A close pal of Maddie’s family branded the documentary, which was barred after the McCanns launched a successful lawsuit in Portugal, a “lunatic conspiracy theory”.
They told The Sun Online: “YouTube videos with lunatic conspiracy theories against the McCann’s have sadly been available on the website for years. It’s not just Amaral but all the anti’s spouting their nonsense.
“Kate and Gerry can’t silence them all but their lawyers will be looking at any they feel are potentially libellous and damaging.”
Goncalo Amaral, who headed the initial investigation into Maddie’s disappearance, wrote The Truth Of The Lie in 2008.
It accused Kate and Gerry McCann of faking Maddie’s abduction – prompting the couple to launch a successful libel claim against the former detective. But the couple have previously been left reeling after having their £395,000 libel victory revoked by Lisbon appeal judges who overturned a ban on his book in April.
To add insult to injury, Amaral is now planning to sue the couple for compensation after winning his appeal.
The couple have on board the country’s top libel lawyers, London-based Carter Ruck.
Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns' spokesman, said today: “Any potentially defamatory material found online will be reviewed and assessed by Kate and Gerry’s lawyers. They will decide if it is appropriate to take any legal action.”
The Sun Online today revealed the McCanns slammed Portuguese media claims they are plotting to reap in hundreds of thousands of pounds from 10th anniversary interviews.
Mitchell branded the claims "spurious nonsense", adding: "They want to make it clear that they are not making any money out of Madeleine’s disappearance."
Madeleine vanished from a holiday rental apartment in Praia da Luz, Algarve, in May 2007.
Her disappearance made headlines across the world and the search for Maddie is thought to have cost £10m so far.
