Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
And here we go-
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/04/09/donald-trump-economic-adviser-pro-immigration-pro-outsourcing/
President Donald Trump has picked an economic advisor who believes in growing the nation’s economy by importing workers and consumers, and by expanding free-trade outsourcing, despite Trump’s “buy American, hire American” campaign promises.
Kevin Hassett is slated to become chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors if he is approved by the Senate’s banking committee. If Hassett is confirmed, that will be a win for the corporatist, business-first faction in Trump’s White House, which fights for influence in the Oval Office against the populist, America-first faction that helped Trump win the election in November.
The Axios news site used three bullet points to describe what the views held by Hassett, formerly an economist at the American Enterprise Institute.
China: Hassett warned in 2010 that bashing China-U.S. trade policy would bring the U.S. back to the downward spiral in the 1930s.
Globalization: “An absolute prerequisite for long-term economic growth is full participation in the global economy and trading system.”
Immigrant workers: [E]conomic growth could expand significantly if immigration in the U.S. were expanded.”....etc

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
Well, I'm torn between digging a fallout shelter in the garden, and getting in more popcorn.
Right now, it is looking very much as if Trump is tearing up every single vow he made to the people who voted for him. Now, everyone expects politicians to bullsh*t and find reasons why they can't carry out election promises, but this is off-the-scale betrayal.
He's nothing to fear from The Swamp, he's swimming away merrily in there. But his own supporters, who invested so much in America First, jobs, and most importantly, no more foreign wars and entanglements, are beyond angry.
The only 'message' his expensive fireworks display has sent is that the US military still can't shoot straight. So it scorched a runway for an hour or two and blew up a canteen? For $100,000,000?
Oh, but off-course missiles did hit a Syrian village, where they killed civilians, soldiers and four children. Well, at least they didn't hit any of their own troops that are in Syria illegally....
Winning hearts and minds, again!

Just had an email from an American friend who decampted to Canada a few years ago; consisted of just 6 words - "How the f*ck did you know????" My reply, "I'm a lawyer, I believe very little and when the hairs on my neck stand to attention I know it's time to run for the hills!!" LL

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
And following yesterday's piece about the villagers and children killed by Trump's airstrike, RT now has an interview with the widow of one of the Syrian servicemen killed.
Has Trump got the foggiest idea of the implications of what he did? Of how this looks to that part of the world that doesn't swoon over pics of missiles being launched as the Stars and Stripes billows in the background? The rest of the world knows how this really ends - with hundreds of thousands of innocent dead, whole countries destroyed, and US personnel shipped back to the States in coffins, or maimed in body and mind.
This is actually one of the worst - even Obama had the sense to WAIT for accurate information before acting, and was saved the humiliation of having launched airstrikes on false information. As things stand, Trump has attacked a sovereign nation that is NO threat to the US, and killed servicemen and civilians.

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
The above from Wikipedia explains Trumper to a 'T'. I am minded to think of Idi Amin, also Mugabe and even Fatty. Think back to Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Mao .... LLNarcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a long-term pattern of abnormal behavior characterized by exaggerated feelings of self-importance, an excessive need for admiration, and a lack of understanding of others' feelings. People affected by it often spend a lot of time thinking about achieving power or success, or about their appearance. They often take advantage of the people around them. The behavior typically begins by early adulthood, and occurs across a variety of situations.

But they all had some kind of vision, however bloody, of what they were trying to acheive. This one is like Mussolini attacking Brazil because they laughed at his hat.....

Bye bye ISIS: Donald Trump gives death cult 30 DAYS before he ‘bombs the s*** out of them'

Instead of which, less than three months later, he tries (and fortunately fails) to bomb the sh*t out of the people fighting ISIS.
ISIS aren't running, they can't. Because they're too busy laughing, because now they know that if they want the US to act as their air force, all they have to do is fake up another 'atrocity' for Ivanka to sob over.
I don't see how Trump comes back from this, and no, I don't think he's playing four-dimensional chess, as his supporters are trying to claim. I think he's screwed up royally, and demonstrated that he's very easy to manipulate, emotionally.

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
I'd say the impeachment starts when/if solid evidence emerges that this 'atrocity', was the result of some jihadist home-made poison being hit - there is already ample evidence that a lot of the photos were faked, though clearly some poor children did indeed die.
Remember, the sources for all this are Turkey/jihadists/a struck-off terrorist doctor - Turkey's involvement alone should give pause for thought. Oh, and the misnamed 'US intelligence' has some pictures. But no, they won't show them to anyone.
We've been here too often before.

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
https://consortiumnews.com/2017/04/08/where-was-cias-pompeo-on-syria/
There is a dark mystery behind the White House-released photo showing President Trump and more than a dozen advisers meeting at his estate in Mar-a-Lago after his decision to strike Syria with Tomahawk missiles: Where are CIA Director Mike Pompeo and other top intelligence officials?
The photograph released by the White House of President Trump meeting with his advisers at his estate in Mar-a-Lago on April 6, 2017, regarding his decision to launch missile strikes against Syria.
Before the photo was released on Friday, a source told me that Pompeo had personally briefed Trump on April 6 about the CIA’s belief that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was likely not responsible for the lethal poison-gas incident in northern Syria two days earlier — and thus Pompeo was excluded from the larger meeting as Trump reached a contrary decision.
At the time, I found the information dubious since Trump, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and other senior U.S. officials were declaring quite confidently that Assad was at fault. Given that apparent confidence, I assumed that Pompeo and the CIA must have signed off on the conclusion of Assad’s guilt even though I knew that some U.S. intelligence analysts had contrary opinions, that they viewed the incident as either an accidental release of chemicals or an intentional ploy by Al Qaeda rebels to sucker the U.S. into attacking Syria. more at link.
If even 10% of that is accurate, then Trump isn't even going to finish one term.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/08/world/asia/china-xi-jinping-president-trump-xinhua.html?_r=0
If Syria had nuclear weapons, the United States would not dare attack it, said Shen Dingli, a professor of international relations at Fudan University in Shanghai. “Chemical weapons and nuclear weapons are totally different,” Mr. Shen said. “A chemical bomb kills dozens of people, and the atomic bomb at Hiroshima killed hundreds of thousands.”
Mr. Shen added that many Chinese were “thrilled” by the attack because it would probably result in the United States becoming further mired in the Middle East.
“If the United States gets trapped in Syria, how can Trump make America great again? As a result, China will be able to achieve its peaceful rise,” Mr. Shen said, using a term Beijing employs to characterize its growing power. “Even though we say we oppose the bombing, deep in our hearts we are happy.”
I don't think that was quite the message Trump thought he was sending.....

http://uk.businessinsider.com/breitbart-jared-kushner-coverage-steve-bannon-2017-4?r=US&IR=T
Employees at Breitbart News have been asked by senior editors to refrain from writing stories critical of Jared Kushner, two people familiar with the matter told Business Insider.
The news comes after The New York Times reported over the weekend that Kushner had complained to President Donald Trump about the negative coverage he was receiving from the far-right website.
Kushner had become a target of Breitbart News amid reports that he was feuding with Stephen Bannon, the news website's former executive chairman....etc
If Bannon got loose, he'd eat Pretty Boy for breakfast and use his ribs as toothpicks.

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
Yes, he and Ivanka seem to be the causes of this entire clusterf*ck. I don't know what Trump was thinking of, genuinely.
In one fell swoop, he's:
1. Pandered to the globalist neo-cons and upset most of his support base.
2. Given Fattie a perfect excuse for his nuclear programme.
3. Aided Assad - Why should we trust America? Why is Trump bombing us instead of ISIS?
4. Infuriated Russia and made life more dangerous for US personnel in the area.
5. Made the US look stupid - if there's one thing worse than an illegal attack on a sovereign nation, it's an attack that turns into a fiasco.
6. Made himself look weak and easily manipulated.
7. Given his domestic enemies an open door to impeach him.
Madness!

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/04/10/donald-trumps-action-syria-proves-not-league-putin-says-son/
Donald Trump’s decision to launch a cruise missile attack on Syria proved he is not in league with Russia and will not be “pushed around” by Vladimir Putin, the US President’s son has told The Daily Telegraph.
Eric Trump said his father was not intimidated by President Putin’s talk of war, and there would be “no-one harder” than President Trump if they “cross us”.
He also confirmed that President Trump’s decision to bomb a Syrian airbase to punish President Bashar al-Assad for a nerve gas attack last week was influenced by the reaction of his sister Ivanka, who said she was “heartbroken and outraged” by the atrocity.
Words fail me.
Ahead of the G7 meeting in Italy, Mr Tillerson said the Nazi atrocities of the Second World War would “serve as an inspiration to us all” as he visited a memorial in Italy to 560 people, including 130 children, massacred by the Waffen-SS in 1944.
He said: “We rededicate ourselves to holding to account any and all who commit crimes against the innocents anywhere in the world.”
Best go and turn yourself into The Hague, then. Napalm and Agent Orange ring any bells? Half a million Iraqi children dead because of sanctions being a price worth paying? Bombing hospitals and droning wedding parties?
Has this all been airbrushed out of history?

To avoid any hurt feelings some people may feel by attempting to speak standard, correct English, Gallagher wants to eradicate the stigma associated with Ebonics — or African–American Vernacular English, a nonstandard dialect of English spoken by some black people.
“I want to center the voices of the people who need to be centered,” Gallagher, a participant in the UW-Madison writing fellows program, told The Daily Cardinal. “As a white-passing person, I have a lot of power and privilege that should be shared.”
