President Trump earned neocon applause for his hasty decision to attack Syria and kill about a dozen Syrians, but his rash act has all the earmarks of a “wag the dog” moment.

Just two days after news broke of an alleged poison-gas attack in northern Syria, President Trump brushed aside advice from some U.S. intelligence analysts doubting the Syrian regime’s guilt and launched a lethal retaliatory missile strike against a Syrian airfield.

Trump immediately won plaudits from Official Washington, especially from neoconservatives who have been trying to wrestle control of his foreign policy away from his nationalist and personal advisers since the days after his surprise victory on Nov. 8.

There is also an internal dispute over the intelligence. On Thursday night, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the U.S. intelligence community assessed with a “high degree of confidence” that the Syrian government had dropped a poison gas bomb on civilians in Idlib province.

But a number of intelligence sources have made contradictory assessments, saying the preponderance of evidence suggests that Al Qaeda-affiliated rebels were at fault, either by orchestrating an intentional release of a chemical agent as a provocation or by possessing containers of poison gas that ruptured during a conventional bombing raid.

One intelligence source told me that the most likely scenario was a staged event by the rebels intended to force Trump to reverse a policy, announced only days earlier, that the U.S. government would no longer seek “regime change” in Syria and would focus on attacking the common enemy, Islamic terror groups that represent the core of the rebel forces.

The source said the Trump national security team split between the President’s close personal advisers, such as nationalist firebrand Steve Bannon and son-in-law Jared Kushner, on one side and old-line neocons who have regrouped under National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, an Army general who was a protégé of neocon favorite Gen. David Petraeus. etc.

Maybe someone should show Ivanka photos of the little Christian children mutilated and decapitated by AQ/ISIS? Or the children crucified by AQ/ISIS? Or how about some of the Yazidi girls and boys raped and used as slaves? Or the women stuffed into cages and used as human shields?

Then next time she goes wailing to her father, he might actually attack ISIS/AQ, instead of the people who are fighting them?

WASHINGTON — The Islamic State has used chemical weapons, including chlorine and sulfur mustard agents, at least 52 times on the battlefield in Syria and Iraq since it swept to power in 2014, according to a new independent analysis.

More than one-third of those chemical attacks have come in and around Mosul, the Islamic State stronghold in northern Iraq, according to the assessment by the IHS Conflict Monitor, a London-based intelligence collection and analysis service.

The IHS conclusions, which are based on local news reports, social media and Islamic State propaganda, mark the broadest compilation of chemical attacks in the conflict. American and Iraqi military officials have expressed growing alarm over the prospect of additional chemical attacks as the allies press to regain both Mosul and Raqqa, the Islamic State capital in Syria.

Bomb attacks targeting worshippers marking Palm Sunday at two Egyptian churches have left at least 36 people dead.

The first explosion, in Tanta - about 70 miles north of Cairo, killed at least 25 at the Mar Girgis Coptic Church.

A statement issued on Sunday by a joint command centre consisting of forces of Russian, Iran and allied militia alliance supporting Syrian President Bashar al Assad said that Friday's US strike on the Syrian air base crossed “red lines” and it would "respond with force" to any new aggression while increasing their level of support to their ally.

In the statement published by the group on media outlet Ilam al Harbi, the pro-Assad alliances says that “what America waged in an aggression on Syria is a crossing of red lines. From now on we will respond with force to any aggressor or any breach of red lines from whoever it is and America knows our ability to respond well."..etc

Boris Johnson cancels Russia trip after US air strikes in Syria.

A visit by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will go ahead, while Mr Johnson gathers support among G7 nations.

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has cancelled a planned trip to Moscow following US missile strikes in Syria.

The visit has been scrapped after strategic talks took place between London and Washington about how the West should approach Russia in the wake of the military action.

A trip planned by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will still go ahead later in the week, with Mr Johnson leading efforts to bring together a coalition against Russian action in Syria and the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Russia has hit out at Boris Johnson's decision to scrap a planned trip to Moscow after discussions with the US.

The move showed the UK has no "real influence" over world events, Russia's foreign ministry said.

Mr Johnson said events in Syria had "changed the situation fundamentally" and he would go to G7 talks instead.

The UK deplored "Russia's continued defence of the Assad regime even after the chemical weapons attack on innocent civilians," he added.

The foreign secretary said: "We call on Russia to do everything possible to bring about a political settlement in Syria and work with the rest of the international community to ensure that the shocking events of the last week are never repeated."

In a statement, the Russian foreign ministry said: "During Johnson's visit to Moscow there were plans to hold open and exhaustive talks on the entire spectrum of international problems, and also to discuss the state of Russo-British relations, which have, in essence, been forced into a dead end by the UK.

"The decision to call off Johnson's visit to Moscow confirms once again doubts in the presence of added value in speaking to the UK, which does not have its own position on the majority of present-day issues, nor does it have real influence on the course of international affairs, as it remains 'in the shadow' of its strategic partners.

"We do not feel that we need dialogue with London any more than it does."

As soon as I read Ivanka had gone sobbing to her father, my stomach dropped.  The feeling has not gone away.....and I wish it would.

The US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, who has done a remarkable job of continuing the diplomatic tone set by her predecessor Samantha Power, said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” which will air in full on Sunday, that regime change in Syria as one of the Trump administration's top priorities in Syria. Her statement was a complete U-turn from what she said just over a week ago, when she told a group of reporters that the US was "no longer focused on getting Assad out."

In her CNN interview, Haley also said that defeating the Islamic State, pushing Iranian influence out of Syria, and the ouster of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad are top priorities for Washington.

And just how does the stupid bimbo imagine she's going to 'push Iranian influence' out of Syria? Is she going to kill some ten million loyal Syrians, and take on the Russian and Iranian army, and the other odds and ends fighting for the LEGAL GOVERNMENT OF THE COUNTRY?

The world has seen what happens to every single nation the US attacks, and their people will fight to the death to stop it happening to Syria.
