Like I said, did the CIA stick a horse's head in his bed or something? He didn't even sound like himself when he was babbling about 'beautiful babies'.

Oh, and the chocolate cake interview, when he couldn't remember which country he'd just bombed, was one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen.

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/21/world/middleeast/isis-chemical-weapons-syria-iraq-mosul.html?_r=0
WASHINGTON — The Islamic State has used chemical weapons, including chlorine and sulfur mustard agents, at least 52 times on the battlefield in Syria and Iraq since it swept to power in 2014, according to a new independent analysis.
More than one-third of those chemical attacks have come in and around Mosul, the Islamic State stronghold in northern Iraq, according to the assessment by the IHS Conflict Monitor, a London-based intelligence collection and analysis service.
The IHS conclusions, which are based on local news reports, social media and Islamic State propaganda, mark the broadest compilation of chemical attacks in the conflict. American and Iraqi military officials have expressed growing alarm over the prospect of additional chemical attacks as the allies press to regain both Mosul and Raqqa, the Islamic State capital in Syria....etc.
Pity no-one shoved a copy of that under Trump's nose before he attacked Syria, isn't it?

US drops 'mother of all bombs' on IS-held caves in Afghanistan
It is the first time the device, containing 11 tonnes of explosives, has been used in combat, according to the Pentagon.
The US military says it has dropped the "mother of all bombs" on a series of caves used by Islamic State in eastern Afghanistan.
It is the first time this type of bomb has been used in combat, Pentagon spokesman Adam Stump said.
It was dropped from an MC-130 aircraft in the Achin district of Nangarhar province, very close to the border with Pakistan.
The GBU-43 bomb, weighing 21,600 lbs (9,797kg), is GPS-guided, contains 11 tonnes of explosives and is the US military's largest non-nuclear device.
Its nickname, 'the mother of all bombs', is based on the name given to it by the US Air Force - 'Massive Ordnance Air Blast' bomb and it is regarded as particularly effective against clusters of targets on or just underneath the ground.
Mr Stump said the bomb was dropped on a group of caves and bunkers, believed to be used by Islamic State in Afghanistan, an affiliate group known by its US military acronym of 'ISIS-K'....etc
Now, personally, I don't give a flying one about ISIS being on the receiving end of explosives. But - if the US is now reduced to dropping MOABs on tribesmen running around in flip-flops and nighties, isn't it time to consider leaving Afghanistan?
It isn't called the Graveyard of Empires for nothing.
PS - only one person's plans have worked out perfectly. Unfortunately, that person is Bin Laden, who wanted to lure the US into unwinnable wars, on which they would throw away blood and treasure.

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
Incidentally, the MOAB isn't the biggest conventional bomb ever:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Slam_(bomb)
The Grand Slam was a 22,000 lb (10,000 kg) earthquake bomb used by RAF Bomber Command against strategic targets during the Second World War. It was the most powerful non-atomic bomb used in the war.
Known officially as the Bomb, Medium Capacity, 22,000 lb, it was a scaled-up version of the Tallboy bomb and closer to the original size that the bombs' inventor, Barnes Wallis, had envisaged when he first developed his earthquake bomb idea. It was also nicknamed "Ten ton Tess".[5]

For Trump, a Steep Learning Curve Leads to Policy Reversals.
WASHINGTON — For President Trump, the road to changing his mind on China included a discussion with corporate executives in the State Dining Room of the White House in February. When the conversation turned to China’s currency, the executives had a simple message for the president: You’re wrong.

His big problem is that he wasn't elected by 'corporate executives', he was elected by the Forgotten Man. And now he's rapidly turning into Hillary.
Why bother having elections in the US when 'corporate executives' win every time?

AFGHANISTAN
'Mother of all bombs' kills 36 Islamic State militants, Afghanistan officials say
Afghanistan officials said 36 Islamic State militants were killed when the U.S. dropped the “mother of all bombs” on a tunnel complex Thursday.
The Afghanistan Ministry of Defense added in a statement Friday that there were no civilian casualties and that several Islamic State caves and ammunition caches were destroyed.
The GBU-43B, a 21,000-pound conventional bomb, was deployed in Nangarhar Province close to the Afghanistan/Pakistan border. The MOAB -- Massive Ordnance Air Blast -- is also known as the “Mother Of All Bombs.” It was first tested in 2003, but hadn't been used in combat before Thursday.
President Trump told media Thursday afternoon that "this was another successful mission" and he gave the military total authorization.
Pentagon spokesman Adam Stump said the bomb had been brought to Afghanistan "some time ago" for potential use. The bomb explodes in the air, creating air pressure that can make tunnels and other structures collapse. It can be used at the start of an offensive to soften up the enemy, weakening both its infrastructure and morale.
"As [ISIS'] losses have mounted, they are using IEDs, bunkers and tunnels to thicken their defense," Gen. John Nicholson, commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, said in a statement. "This is the right munition to reduce these obstacles and maintain the momentum of our offensive against [ISIS]."
The MOAB had to be dropped out of the back of a U.S. Air Force C-130 cargo plane due to its massive size.
"We kicked it out the back door," one U.S. official told Fox News.
...etc.
So, just like Lancasters and Grand Slams more than 70 years ago? And it cost $16,000,000 to kill off 36 crazies in flip-flops?
Following last week's triumph in which it cost $100,000,000 to blow up a canteen and Syrian civilians and servicemen who had been fighting ISIS? Oh, and six ancient MiGs, so decrepit collectors can buy them for some $100,000?
No wonder the US is rapidly going bankrupt. Bin Laden must be laughing his head off in the Afterlife - his plan is working perfectly.

Well, the Washington establishment hate Trump anyway, and he's backstabbed his base supporters repeatedly over the past week.
I reckon he's going to be asssinated or impeached - and no-one is going to care.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-14/us-releases-video-mother-all-bombs-explosion-which-killed-36-isis-fighters
Hakim Khan, 50, a resident of Achin district where the attack took place, was quoted by CBS as saying he welcomed the attack on ISIS, saying, “I want 100 times more bombings on this group.”
But fierce opposition among Afghans also surfaced. Former President Hamid Karzai condemned the strike, saying it “is not the war on terror but inhuman, and (the) most brutal misuse of our country as (a) testing ground for new and dangeorus weapons. It is upon us,Afghans, to stop the USA.”
Karzi said, “I vehemently and in strongest words condemn the dropping of the latest weapon.”
Others were similarly stunned by the unexpected US show of force.
Since news of the strike broke, most social media users in Afghanistan criticized both the Afghan government and U.S. One user calleld it “our generation’s “Hiroshima,” adding, “I’m still in shock.”
In a 2003 review of the legality of using the MOAB, the Pentagon concluded that it could not be called an indiscriminate killer under the Law of Armed Conflict. “Although the MOAB weapon leaves a large footprint, it is discriminate and requires a deliberate launching toward the target,” the review said, adding, “It is expected that the weapon will have a substantial psychological effect on those who witness its use.”
Yup.
Mainly, Test your weapons of mass destruction in your own country, you madmen.

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
Well, I don't think it was awfully clever of Pompeo to turn on Wikileaks:
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-14/assange-responds-cia-director-produced-al-qaeda-isis-iraq-iran-pinochet
Julian Assange @JulianAssange
Called a "non-state intelligence service" today by the "state non-intelligence agency" which produced al-Qaeda, ISIS, Iraq, Iran & Pinochet.
11:26 PM - 13 Apr 2017
"WikiLeaks walks like a hostile intelligence service and talks like a hostile intelligence service," Pompeo told an audience at a Washington think tank, adding that Russia's GRU intelligence service had used the anti-secrecy group to distribute hacked material during the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
On Thursday, Pompeo cited the intelligence community’s January report concluding that the GRU, Russia’s foreign military intelligence unit, went through WikiLeaks to released hacked emails from the DNC to influence the presidential election. The report concluded that Russia’s state-controlled media outlet RT actively collaborated with WikiLeaks in the influence campaign against the election.
Pompeo called Assange "a fraud, a coward hiding behind a screen," skewering him for exposing information about democratic governments rather than authoritarian regimes.
Which is ironic for Pompeo to say when just last July, Pompeo was quite keen on using the information disclosed by this "fraud and coward" for his own political purposes, when he was sharing Wikileaks documents on his Congressional Twitter account less than a year ago.
And why was Pompeo raving about Assange supporters being 'devils'? Does that include Pamela Anderson? Has everyone in this administration taken leave of their senses?

WTF?
https://qz.com/959770/donald-trump-sent-dozens-of-us-troops-to-somalis-in-the-same-week-he-dropped-the-mother-of-all-bombs-moab/
Quote:
And that’s not all: the US has announced April 14 that, for the first time since 1994, it’s deploying “dozens” of regular troops in Somalia to help the ongoing fight against al-Shabab, al-Qaeda’s jihadist ally. They are to provide training and support to the Somali National Army and the African Union mission on the ground, Voice of America reported. The US troops will enhance what has been America’s small presence (three to 50 people) in the country to facilitate the military relationship between Somalia.
The mission is scheduled to continue until the end of September.
This is the first time the US has sent regular forces to Somalia since March 1994, after special forces that were part a peacekeeping mission aimed at enforcing a ceasefire during the Somalian civil war were ensnared in a 15-hour-long battle in Mogadishu. Eighteen Americans were killed in the incident, memorialized in Black Hawk Down, prompting then president Bill Clinton to order a US withdrawal.
Very good; on how many fronts is the US now at war? I've lost count.
I suggest this is a good time to invest in body-bag stocks, as the US never, ever seems to learn - as soon as their technology fails, they get walloped by goat herders in flip-flops.

This week, in policy flip-flops from Donald Trump: NATO is "no longer obsolete." China is "not a currency manipulator." The Export-Import Bank is a "good thing." Syrian President Bashar al-Assad must go.
Talk about plot twists.
The most radical thing about the U.S. president's dizzying spin toward globalism over the last few days might be how conventionally interventionist his world view seems to have become. The worrying bit, foreign policy analysts warn, is those reversals could undermine the credibility of his office.
In a foreign policy campaign speech, Trump declared last year: "We must, as a nation, be more unpredictable." Link.

West Palm Beach, Florida (CNN)President Donald Trump arrived for another weekend at his languid Florida resort on Thursday, this time without the usual retinue of top aides who have accompanied him in the past, even as global tensions flare.
Trump's jaunt to Mar-a-Lago, his seventh since taking office in January, coincides with a closely watched anniversary in North Korea, where analysts have said the rogue regime may be preparing for a sixth nuclear test. Link.

Re: Donald J. Trump wins Presidency
Maybe he should read this while he's eating his chocolate cake?
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-15/video-tampering-evidence-syrian-chemical-weapons-attack
Video Shows Tampering with "Evidence" of Syrian Chemical Weapons Attack
It would be funny if it wasn't so serious.
Clearly, the 'evidence gatherers' are immune to sarin. As is the bloke on the motorbike, and all the other nonchalant bystanders.

'Ooh, look, Evil Assad just dropped a sarin bomb - look, the budgies have mysteriously died! Look, it made a pothole in the road!'
'Ooh, that's really Evil, lemmee have a look in the Sarin Pothole too!'
Utterly ridiculous.

The world is fast going to hell in a handbasket and nutcases are fighting over tax returns? Trumper could stop this by publishing them NOW - or does he have something to hide as many might think? LL

Quite.
No wonder the US Left lost the election - they're as bad as Corbyn. The world has more important things to worry about than Trump's flaming taxes, yet they seem to be obsessed with them.
And if the Trumpers and antifa are fighting, well, it's just domestic violence, better than them taking their aggression out on the rest of the world. Do any of them actually know what they're fighting about?
