The poor child's eyelids may have briefly twitched, but it is horribly obvious there is nothing there. That poor, poor child is grotesquely bloated, and as he can't hear, see, move, breath, make a noise or express pain, it is IMO, grotesque and cruel to keep him suffering, locked in a hellish limbo, tubes everywhere, a machine breathing for him and his lungs being regularly suctioned to clear mucus.
I am afraid his parents are deluding themselves and NOT putting that poor baby first.

Probably because it doesn't exist.
What is being glossed over by 'Charlie's Army' is that transporting their child to the US is as good as impossible.
Moving anyone on life support is a tricky business, and needs a full intensive care unit of doctors and nurses. On top of that, whatever is left of the poor child's brain is so damaged, he couldn't fly in a pressurised jet.
He would need a turbo-prop, which would have to stop to refuel via Iceland, Greenland and Canada. The consequences of hitting bad weather could be ghastly.
It is, IMO, time this ghastly drama ended and Charlie's parents faced reality. Without the involvement of the pope, Trump, deranged US evangelists and the lunatics in the 'Charlie's Army' mob.

Re: Charlie Gard: Great Ormond Street considers 'new evidence'
Charlie Gard's mother ran from court in tears today as a judge was informed of 'very sad' news about her son.
The results of a new MRI scan on the 11-month-old had just come through, a lawyer for Great Ormond Street Hospital told London's High Court.
Charlie's parents Connie Yates and Chris Gard had not seen the report, which arrived moments before the hearing began at 2pm.
Katie Gollop QC, for the hospital, told Mr Justice Francis: 'The MRI report has come through. It makes for very sad reading.'
Miss Yates, who had not read the report, broke down and sobbed: 'That's not how we are supposed to read it', and ran out of court.
Mr Gard fixed the QC with an angry glare and shouted: 'Evil!'
The judge said: 'I know it is very difficult for the parents. It is unfortunate that Miss Yates had to hear what she heard.'

Charlie Gard campaigners have been urged to show consideration to the parents of other children being treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The High Court judge in Charlie's case warned there were "lots and lots" of other sick children at the hospital.
It follows complaints from the family members of other children being treated at the hospital.
Mr Justice Francis said the relatives of those children may not want to be confronted by campaigners.
A spokeswoman for Great Ormond Street acknowledged the hospital had received complaints from families but would not provide further details.
Mr Justice Francis was speaking while overseeing the latest hearing in the 11-month-old's case in the Family Division of the High Court.
Charlie suffers from a rare genetic condition and has brain damage.
Lawyers for the hospital said on Friday a new scan of Charlie made for "sad reading".
Earlier this month the judge condemned people who had abused and threatened Great Ormond Street medics on social media as a result of Charlie's case.

Re: Charlie Gard: Great Ormond Street considers 'new evidence'
http://news.sky.com/story/great-ormond-street-staff-receive-death-threats-over-charlie-gard-case-10957933
Staff at the hospital treating terminally ill boy Charlie Gard have received death threats, it has emerged.
Great Ormond Street Hospital says it has contacted police following a tide of "shocking and disgraceful" hostility and disturbance.
Thousands of abusive messages have been sent to doctors and nurses and families visiting their children at the hospital have been harassed discomforted.
Mary MacLeod, chairman of the hospital, said in a statement: "Great Ormond Street Hospital cares for many thousands of seriously unwell children every year, providing outstanding treatment for those who need it most.
"Charlie Gard's case is a heart-breaking one. We fully understand that there is intense public interest, and that emotions run high.
"We recognise the tireless advocacy of Charlie's loving parents and the natural sympathy people feel with his situation
"However, in recent weeks the GOSH community has been subjected to a shocking and disgraceful tide of hostility and disturbance. Staff have received abuse both in the street and on line.
"Thousands of abusive messages have been sent to doctors and nurses whose life's work is to care for sick children. Many of these messages are menacing, including death threats.
"Families have been harassed and discomforted while visiting their children, and we have received complaints of unacceptable behaviour even within the hospital itself.
"Whatever the strong emotions raised by this case, there can be no excuse for patients and families to have their privacy and peace disturbed as they deal with their own often very stressful situations or for dedicated doctors and nurses to suffer this kind of abuse.
"Great Ormond Street Hospital is in close contact with the Metropolitan Police and we will do everything possible to hold to account anybody who involved in this kind of deplorable behaviour."
More follows...
It is, IMO, time FB took down that 'Charlie's Army' page, it is horrible - just like the 'Charlie' car air fresheners and other tat being sold by these lunatics.
And Charlie's parents needn't pretend they don't know anything about it - it's run by his aunt.
I shudder to think what GOSH staff have to put up with from the Gard family, who know perfectly well the staff just have to take whatever abuse is handed out out of the public eye.

It is free of guff about non-existent 'cures' in the US. There are also links to the previous court rulings, which make it clear what a terrible state this poor, tormented baby, who can't even cry in pain, is in.
The hate campaign whipped up by the family on anti-social media is inexcusable.

Re: Charlie Gard: Great Ormond Street considers 'new evidence'
That finally does it for me - threatening doctors and nurses. I have not mentioned this before but when I was 11 I was a patient in GOSH as I had to have an operation due to having inherited Graves Disease. I spent a month there and I can still remember the kindness I received as a terrified kid. These people and the parents are not interested in the fate of the boy, they are only interested in fame and being on TV etc. Did you notice the father carries a toy, just like Kate carried Cuddlecat? I am sick to my stomach at this latest development in Charlie's case. LL

They are one of the best, most respected children's hospitals in the world with good reason, LL, as you can testify.
I had had enough of them two weeks ago, when they held a demo outside the hospital, not giving a sh*t about the effect of their shouting and bawling on other sick children, their parents, or the staff. Seems that American right-wing evangelist that has latched onto the case - thanks to Trump - has another one planned for tomorrow and they are also demonstrating outside the court on Monday and Tuesday.
I shudder to think how the Gards treat GOSH staff inside the hospital.
The aunt that runs the FB page is frantically trying to clean the page up, despite her previously having been one of the main instigators of abuse.
That monkey toy the father carries into court? Apparently, there are two of them. One stays with Charlie, and the father carries the other one around for extra drama when he storms out of court. It's just a stage prop, a stunt.
I wish to God they would stop this circus and let that poor, suffering baby pass in peace.

I would just like to say that Alastair Seaton-Marsden is NOT our spokesperson.
Despite repeated requests, he has continually expressed views and put out statements on our behalf (including one just a few minutes ago) which we have NOT consented to and do not agree with. He is not helping us and he is certainly not helping Charlie. All he has done is tarnish the reputation of two parents who have been trying to save their son and we are getting a stream of abusive messages because of it.
With regards to parents being harassed in the hospital, this was Alastair getting other distressed parents to try and sign a petition which we were unaware of and would not of agreed with had we been aware. We have tried very hard not to involve other parents in our fight for Charlie as we know what a devastating place this can be for upset and anxious parents and they have enough on their plate without hearing about our problems too.
With all the stress we are under, the last thing we need is this man putting out quotes on our behalf which we do not and have not expressed.
We have always acted in Charlie's best interests and we have never slated gosh publicly, in fact we have been grateful to the staff for their care despite some conflicting issues.
All the quotes you read in the media criticising gosh, have come from him, not us.
I just want to make that clear.
He was certainly their spokesman a few days ago-

Thing is, Sabot, all the court reports are freely available online and make horrifying reading; that poor baby can't see, hear, move, cry, nothing. He's in purgatory, unaware of anything except pain and suffering.
Every organ in his body is being destroyed by the damaged DNA - just look at how swollen he is! Because he cannot breathe unaided, his tiny lungs have to be suctioned regularly to clear mucus. Think about how that feels to a dying baby....
His family have, IMO, behaved abominably; last time GOSH was given permission to cease artificial life support, they gave the Gards extra time to say goodbye.
The Gards repaid GOSH by getting involved with lunatics in the US and by inventing 'new evidence'; they then threatened GOSH with a judicial review if it didn't go back to court, thus starting the current circus. It's pointless, the poor baby is too frail to go anywhere.
And these US lunatics seem to think the Gards somehow own their son, as if he's a human doll or a pet.
Not under UK or European law they don't; here, parents have responsibilities - their children are not their property. There isn't going to be a 'miracle cure' and it's long past time Charlie's parents let him go peacefully.

My son is currently there and thank God hopefully out of intensive care by Tuesday. I've been there for two weeks and I've seen the behaviour of people and how they act around the staff it is disgusting to the point a couple of us parents have had to complain. It's heart breaking enough were all their in the same boat supporting each other. We all talk to each other but when the family come in everyone stops talking. It's too upsetting.

Charlie Gard's parents back in court after 'backlash' over hospital death threats
The terminally ill child's parents say they have been "shocked by some of the public response" to their High Court battle.
They should have thought of that before whipping up their barmy army - those crazies make the McCann-haters look reasonable.
I won't be at all surprised if the judge brings this ghastly business to an end today.
