The husband of Gloucestershire teacher Kate Prout - murdered in 2007 - has admitted to killing her for the first time.
Adrian Prout will now meet police and show them where her body is.

He was convicted of murdering his 55-year-old wife last year.

To "Danger Goat" about his comment on eddie: just because he found (if he did, I recall of reading somewhere that neither eddie nor keela were no longer used) the remains of Mrs. Prout, that doesn´t make him an infallible dog, I´ll bet that about Mrs. Prout´s remains, eddie was not forced to do something against his own will.

Killer Reveals Where He Buried Wife's Body

The husband of Gloucestershire teacher Kate Prout - murdered in 2007 - has admitted to killing her for the first time.
Adrian Prout is now with police showing them where her body is, three years after her disappearance from the couple's £1.2m farm.

He was convicted of murdering his 55-year-old wife last year, following a trial at Bristol Crown Court.

Searches for Mrs Prout's body on the 1,400-acre farm and surrounding countryside have previously drawn a blank - but officers revealed they had received "significant information" from Mr Prout after visiting him in prison on Thursday afternoon.

Detective Superintendent Simon Atkinson, of Gloucestershire Constabulary, said: "Yesterday morning we received some new and significant information in relation to the murder of Kate Prout.

Our main priority now is to recover Mrs Prout's body and enable her family to have some closure after the long ordeal they have been through.

"Yesterday afternoon two detectives paid a visit to the prison where Adrian Prout is being held.

"Adrian Prout has admitted to those detectives that he murdered Kate Prout - something which he had always denied - and has now suggested that he disposed of her body on Redhill Farm, in Redmarley.

"He has agreed to visit the farm to point out the exact location.

"A detailed search of that location will be conducted next week, however this will be a painstaking process so is likely to take some time. The scene will be guarded throughout the weekend.

"We are keeping Mrs Prout's family updated and fully informed of developments.

"The investigation into Kate Prout's death was challenging and complex, and ultimately led to Adrian Prout's conviction. This latest piece of information does not change that.

"Our main priority now is to recover Mrs Prout's body and enable her family to have some closure after the long ordeal they have been through."

Prout, who ran a commercial pheasant shoot and pipe-laying business, is thought to have strangled the retired teacher and disposed of her body to avoid having to pay her a large divorce settlement.

Mrs Prout had demanded half the matrimonial assets, a lump sum of £800,000, according to financial documents seen by Sky News.

The only way for her husband to raise the money would have been to sell the couple's farm, which he was not prepared to do.

That's the thing, Pedro, the remains of Mrs Prout were never found - Eddie was involved in searching for them, but came up empty.

A dog did bark at a carpet, however.

I will be interested to see what comes of this; it baffled me that Prout did not plead guilty to a lesser offence, as Mrs Prout was a rather unpleasant woman with alcohol abuse problems.

So, why couldn't Eddie the Wonderdog find out where the actual body went when it left the carpet - Eddie was involved in the searches of the countryside and failed to woof.

On past form, he could have been carpet- woofing at a dropped bacon sandwich.

Exactly, Maggs. This business of woofing at carpets is meaningless, unless one believes that corpses can dematerialize and reappear somewhere else, as if they have been put in Captain Kirk's transporter.

I have to say, that Eddie's overblown antics are doing a disfavor to other police dogs who work steadily and reliably.

My thoughts and prayers are with Kate Prout's family and friends.

I know; they seem to be missing the bit about no forensic evidence being found - I seem to recall that, in the process, the forensic team warned about Eddie being liable to bark at dropped bacon sandwiches - BECAUSE HE WAS TRAINED TO BARK AT PORK.

Grime himself said so; Eddie went bin-raking in PDL...

I will try not to be too gruesome here, but it is a established fact that, particularly in violent death, the body voids whatever it has digested...

So, how come no trace of waste matter is ever found on the floors Eddie woofs at? Always just this nebulous, 'scent of death'.

Does it never strike the Eddie fan club that no trace of body waste is found, but they believe in the existence of this death miasma?

But right now, I can think of no good reason why a dog would woof at a carpet - BUT NOT AT A DECOMPOSING CORPSE IN NEARBY WOODLAND.
