Re: MCCANNS TO GIVE EVIDENCE TO LEVESON INQUIRY
Well, they are really just irritating, background static, aren't they? What is rather more important is that it should mark the end of the road for the likes of Bennett and B$own.
As for Gonc - if the identity of the person in the PJ who illegally siezed and then leaked the diary becomes public knowledge, and his pawprints are anywhere near it, as many suspect, then he can forget the libel trial in February.
He may well be facing more criminal charges by then.

How can anyone be so thick?

@Katycakes1 just don't understand. & if a copy why handwritten? Not photocopied.Did #McCann leak diary to the press themselves?
1. It was handwritten because Kate McCann wrote it by hand after Madeleine was abducted.
2. It was illegally siezed when clothes were taken from the villa.
3. It was ordered returned, but by that time, some nasty elements in the PJ had taken photocopies. The photocopies came out in HANDWRITING.
4. A Portuguese judge ordered all copies of it to be destroyed, but some scumbag linked to the PJ sold/passed it to CdM, where translations appeared.
It later appeared in the NOTW.
What is difficult to understand about that? Anyone with an IQ greater than their shoe size should be able to follow it.

Will Scotland Yard be looking into this? They might get some answers from The PJ. Entente Cordial and all that.

Re: MCCANNS TO GIVE EVIDENCE TO LEVESON INQUIRY
That is absolutely typical. It was exactly the same with @Maysey last night who could not understand that to get a match for DNA you had to have something to match it to (the pillowcase). She was claiming that the DNA from the reference pillowcase was proof the PJ had a direct match to Madeleines DNA. She could not grasp that the pillowcase was Maddies DNA to be matched to. I also resorted to the 1), 2), etc. staged explanation but then she claimed I was playing a semantics game. You can't win.

Re: MCCANNS TO GIVE EVIDENCE TO LEVESON INQUIRY
In the name...this one thinks the McCanns were negotiating with NOTW to serialize the findings of the Scotland Yard review.
So the McCs who are complaining about privacy, intrusion of the press, were negotiating with New International via Rebecca Brooks to gain support for a Scotland Yard Review using their Coulson contact, in return it is alleged the McCs would give them serialisation rights, for an inquiry from the public purse at an initial cost of £3.5million the findings of which would not be made public. Is this because it was known the McCs had an agreement with News International to serialise the findings, im sure for free
What on earth can you say to something as stupid as that? It's awesome - these people shouldn't be allowed to vote, never mind anything else.

McCann witness in the case of illegal wiretapping
Kate and Gerry McCann testified today in London, an inquiry into illegal wiretapping, following the scandal of the newspaper "News of the World."
The McCanns went to court today in London to be heard at the inquiry into illegal wiretapping, along with other public figures like Hugh Grant. K. Rowling or Sienna Miller, who also testified to have seen their lives spied for British newspapers.
This survey follows the wiretapping scandal of the newspaper "News of the World", which ended in July after a proven systematic violations of the law.
The McCanns said that the constant media pressure that was submitted, affected her family life. The disappearance of Madeleine MacCann, during the vacation that the couple spent in Portugal and the suspicion that falls on Kate and Gerry, led to intense media coverage that had a devastating effect on their life.
Gerry said in the survey, news circulated that "sinister" about their involvement in the abduction of her daughter, who quickly became "highly speculative". His wife, Kate, explained that he became depressed when the news began to Madeleine as dead and that his words have never had great weight against the power of the media.
Also asked about a newspaper has reported that the couple sold Madeleine to be without money, responded that this news was "nothing less than shameful."

Re: MCCANNS TO GIVE EVIDENCE TO LEVESON INQUIRY
Anyone who has had an eye on Twitter has seen journo after journo, outraged by the vile, hateful spam by the Truthseekers that trashed #leveson, and other feeds, yesterday and today. These are people who had never come across the McCann-haters before, and to a man, they have been revolted and angered by them.
Then, on MM, I saw one of the Truthseekers come out with this gem - 'they' meaning the McCanns, believe it or not.
They may just have upset some journo's today who may start digging, but won't hold my breath
The McCanns haven't upset any journos - why would they? They finally spoke out about the horrible treatment they got from sections of the press, and 99.999999999% of the population of the UK feels heart-sorry for them tonight.
The remaining tiny, miniscule minority is the whackjobs, conspiraloons and envy-ridden haters on assorted Truthseeking sites, who seem blissfully unaware of the PR disaster that their buddies have caused.
Oh, upset journos may indeed start digging - but the McCanns won't be the targets; the pondlife that has been hurling abuse in every direction is top of that list.

Re: MCCANNS TO GIVE EVIDENCE TO LEVESON INQUIRY
My friends, I received this through google alert:

Madeleine McCann's parents testify about illegal wiretaps
Kate and Gerry McCann claims that most news about ther daughter were invented.
LONDON - The British Parliament on Wednesday received the parents of Madeleine McCann, British girl who disappeared in 2007 during a vacation with her parents in Portugal. Gerry and Kate McCann were the targets of numerous reports suspicions of British tabloids. The former "News of the World" went on to publish excerpts from the diary of Kate. The couple, however, believe that it was the victim of illegal wiretapping. Earlier, a British newspaper reported that James Murdoch, son of Australian magnate Rupert Murdoch, would have left the board of News Group Newspapers, responsible for publishing the newspaper "The Sun", "Sunday Times" and "The Times".
Gerry McCann recalled a hearing in Parliament that suffered exposure after the disappearance of his daughter, Madeleine, and said that one of the worst news was the machete of the tabloid "Daily Mirror" that gave the girl dead. Kate has already said she felt "completely violated" to see her diary published in the "News of the World. The couple blamed the Portuguese police of leaking protest information to British journalists.
Unless gramped as our phones have been, and I believe they were not, the news was all invented - said Gerry.
James Murdoch had resigned from the board of British newspapers
James Murdoch, son of Australian magnate Rupert Murdoch, would have left the board of News Group Newspapers, responsible for publishing the newspaper "The Sun", "Sunday Times" and "The Times". According to the newspaper "Evening Standard," James continued as director of the European arm of News Corp.. Nobody's News International commented on the information.
The crisis in the media conglomerate began with the illegal wiretapping scandal and led to the closing of the Sunday tabloid "News of the World." Editors, reporters and Murdoch themselves are accused of obtaining information and encourage the use of wiretapping in the newspaper. According to documents obtained by "Evening Standard", James had resigned last September.
This week, witnesses and victims of illegal wiretaps began to testify in the British Parliament. Until now, the girl's parents Milly Dowler, who had invaded the answering machine after being kidnapped and killed, and the actor Hugh Grant appeared in court. On Wednesday, who's going to Parliament are the parents of Madeleine McCann, missing since 2007.
Press was biased and confusing, say parents of Madeleine McCann at a hearing on "News of the World"
The parents of Madeleine McCann, who disappeared in 2007, Kate and Gerry McCann, were heard Wednesday at a hearing that is part of the investigation into the wiretapping scheme of News Corp., which led to the closure of the tabloid "News of the World "Rupert Murdoch.
In the statement, the couple criticized the confusion of information and the suspicions raised about the participation of the parents in the crime.
Kate said she was "desperate" by news fluids found in the car the couple. "There was fluid blood, but it was repeated so that it became a fact. We just wanted to find our daughter," she said.
The "News of the World" was one of the publications that raised suspicions about the couple, but curiously, Kate and Gerry McCann tried to publish a series of articles in the book written about Kate worse case. "I was terrified at the invitation after what they had written about us," said Gerry in the audience.
He said there was a meeting with Will Lewis and Rebekah Brooks, former director of the tabloid, to set the negotiation. The couple's interest in the agreement was to generate a new interest in the case that he should be reopened.
The couple said they had been suffering from cramps, but criticized the way the British press, generally covered the case. Newspapers such as "Daily Star", "Sunday Star" and "Daily Express", all the company's Express Newspaper, were cited for publishing biased material on parents. In the case of the "Daily Express", the newspaper was forced to pay compensation of 550 thousand pounds to the couple for libel.
For parents, the extra publicity the case has not helped. "I do not believe that has contributed, especially in 2007 and 2008. There was much confusion," said Gerry. "She was on the covers of newspapers every day, but this is not the issue, when the story is negative, does not help," added Kate.
The survey, conducted by Judge Brian Leveson, may recommend major changes in the way the media is regulated in the UK and also present new revelations in the case of staples.
This week we have been hearing the parents of the young Milly Dowler, killed in 2002, actor Hugh Grant and comedian Steve Coogan. This first phase of investigation will be focused on the practices carried out by the media, culture and ethics of the media and its relationship with politicians and police and also covers the case of the victims.
The second part will be further investigated in the case of wiretaps performed by the newspaper, although this phase can only begin after the completion of the ongoing police investigation, whose completion date was not determined.
The "News of the World", which was closed because of the scandal, held for years, apparently in a systematic way, a spy of famous cell phones, journalists and others in order to obtain exclusive stories.

Re: MCCANNS TO GIVE EVIDENCE TO LEVESON INQUIRY
As we can all see, the press published smears, theories without no evidence to prove it, just to sell newspapers, without care for searching the truth:
Madeleine McCann was abducted, her parents are completely innocent,
Madeleine McCann is real, living, findable child.
Madeleine McCann was abducted, her parents are completely innocent,
Madeleine McCann is real, living, findable child.

Re: MCCANNS TO GIVE EVIDENCE TO LEVESON INQUIRY
Interesting analysis in your link, Pedro:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15860071
Analysis
Peter Hunt
BBC News
The McCanns' evidence was a searing indictment of the way the media can operate when in full flight.
The couple have suffered in many ways. Their daughter is still missing and in the process of trying to find her they have been damaged by the way their search has been reported. "It's your voice against the powerful media", was how Kate McCann put it.
A new low, after months and months of lows, came when Kate McCann's once private diary was published by the News of the World. The tabloid may have folded, but its publisher isn't off the hook. Lord Justice Leveson wants to know how the paper got hold of words a mother wrote at the "most desperate time" of her life.
The McCanns' motive for giving evidence was a simple one. They don't want others to experience what they experienced after Madeleine disappeared

I suspect there are some very worried people in Portugal tonight.

They deserve to be worried. It seems that the identity/ies will be made known.

Oh, I have no doubt they will be made known.
You know, this would be a very good time for Gonc to settle out of court; every single bit of his stupid 'thesis' has just been publically torn to ribbons.
And B$own should do a very hasty rethink, too.

Re: MCCANNS TO GIVE EVIDENCE TO LEVESON INQUIRY
Where do these idiots come from?
Posted by: JL3 on November 23, 2011 10:50 PMKate McCann just stated there were NO body fluids in the boot of the car?
Hello???
Has ANYONE in the UK related to media actually read the police files on this case?
=====================
That'll be the files that make it crystal clear that there was NO 'BODY FLUID' IN THE BOOT OF THE CAR?
Yes, the police, the media, the politicians - all the people who back the McCanns' efforts to find Madeleine, have ALL read the files, as have a great many members of the public.
The only place that happened is in Gonc's sick head; he can explain that to the judge in February.

Can you just imagine the headlines when the information is known?

Re: MCCANNS TO GIVE EVIDENCE TO LEVESON INQUIRY
I suspect that once the identity of whoever did that is known, a lot else will become clear, too, Lily.
Gerry touched on the 'Pact of Silence' nonsense; now, it is no secret that the raddled, addled Cabrita woman invented that out of spite after UK witnesses wisely refused to speak to her.
But - questions have to be asked about how she got what was supposed to be restricted information about witnesses to begin with.
One widely-held 'thesis' is that Gonc accidentally left notes, addresses, phone numbers etc on his desk and Cabrita accidentally saw them when she accidentally went into his office.

Re: MCCANNS TO GIVE EVIDENCE TO LEVESON INQUIRY
For once, it's interesting watching #mccann. Because the Hindley Fan, Ironside, and one or two others wrecked #leveson with their endless hatespam, people who have never come across the pitchforkers before are fetching up on #mccann.
And guess what? They are disgusted by the bile, venom and filth being spouted by the haters and ghouls.
