I was going to post up a humorous comment about this situation but to be honest when I looked at it I thought any kind of humour completely innappropriate and binned it.

This is people's lives that are at stake. People have committed suicide over less in the past.

I wondered earlier if this might be a journalist getting to the bottom of the leaks in the PJ. I still wonder if that is the source of this rather than either pro or anti McCanns.

I would be surprised if it is anything as high-minded as that, greenink. It looks very much like someone wanting payback for Paiva's intervention to support Ms Spencer, and very possibly telling the press all about it.

I do know what you mean, this kind of thing has indeed caused tragedies in the past.

It is just so...so stupid, all of it.

And, as a serving officer, Paiva should never, ever have been on FB to begin with, befriending a load of forkers.

So, if the UK press have got hold of it, it may well end up being spun into the leaks - but I very much doubt if that is what it started over.

I would put money on it being the Sun, Tony - Bret is forever boasting about sending stuff to them. Despite their failure to apologise.....

Hopefully, we will all find out the truth some time round about midnight tonight, when the Sunday papers come out in the UK.

I think The Pitch Forkers tracked down Paiva on Face Book, didn't they? But more fool him for getting involved. He should have kept right out of it.

Facebook will hand over the culprit without a second thought.

He was best mates with all of them, Sabot, then he told Bret and co to stop harrassing Ms Spencer. Then the forkers started hurling abuse at his friends and family, and he closed his account, or whatever it is you do with FB - don't ask me.

He then reappeared with a forker-free account, and some time in January, was greatly taken by Candice, the young American model, from those wierd posts I saw on the Brunty blog.

Who now turns out to have been a man all along.

Do not ask me, hopefully the Sun will tell all tomorrow.
