Libel trial postponed by Gonc

I have checked PT newspapers, TV news channels, no word about the postponed.

I hope the Portuguese media dig into this a bit; it's been clear for a week that Gonc was almost certainly going to chicken out.

Announcing it via a Spanish hateblogger is a very hole-in-corner way of doing it.

I don't quite understand their rage to be honest. They seem so assured that Gonc is going to win, his Ace is coming into play, so why this massive snarling?

They're very entertaining when they're like this. You can almost feel sorry for them, watching them try to find ways of pretending that their beloved Gonc hasn't, yet again, failed to live up to their expectations.

Especially when some of us were predicting days ago that he would do that very thing.

And it doesn't help them that, contrary to all their delusions, no-one is going to get to torment the McCanns again and hide behind a court while they do it.

She's worried about his health, certainly caused by him having to cough up a lot of money?

He never seemed to care too much about what happened to the McCanns as a result of the investigation which he left in a shambles.

Wasn't that the December 2007 when Sofa waived bye bye to Gonc as he went off to visit Jaoa Cipriano in prison with warm clothes and stuff? With the odd threat or two thrown in, no doubt.

I can't read that. But why would Sofa tell Kate about Christmas 2006? What did that have to do with the price of a bunch of bananas?

Lovely Sofa's letter was mid-2008, so that doesn't help much. Surely even she wouldn't tell such a huge, huge whopper?

This bit makes me chuckle:

I've thought about this before, and had a bit of a wonder. I thought Sofa was talking about Christmas 2007 re the Mission of Mercy. But we didn't know about the Christmas Punch up at the time. Which she blatantly denied, even though we had seen the letter she wrote.
And Yes, she would tell such a whopper.

His visit to spread Christmas Cheer was definitely the year that Madeleine was abducted.

At the time that he spread his cheer around we did not know about his girlfriend who was threatened by him. It was thought that he was such a saintly kindly man doing that on Xmas Eve.

Sofa sure did get angry with him from time to time, didn't she? Writing those letters to his boss.
