Heavy gunfire was heard from inside Kramatorsk air base, in the east of the country, after a crowd of pro-Russian locals had approached.

Best thing the Kiev government could do, IMO, is kick out Greystone, Blackwater, Kerry, Nuland, the CIA and the whole state-wrecking circus. Then sit down with Putin and Merkel and work out a peaceful solution. If the south-east wants to be Russian, let them. If the north-west wants to be European, let them - that is democracy.

That won't happen, though, and Ukraine will slide into civil war and become yet another failed state. It'll be in an even worse situation than most, though, because the IMF, etc., will pump money in and then want it paid back, which will reduce Ukrainians to subsistance level, while resentment grows daily in the south-east.

Kerry, Greystone and the neo-nazis will be happy, though. I don't greatly like Ms Merkel, but she has one advantage over Kerry and co - she's more or less sane.

I swear Kerry is actually insane, he seems to be channelling Dr Strangelove. That he was still trying to start a war with Syria after it turned out that it was his own allies that were behind the gas attack is beyond frightening. And Hague isn't much better. Neither of them, IMO, should be allowed near anything more challenging than the parish council, their enthusiasm for shedding other people's blood is terrifying.

I know what you mean. It was scary and he doesn't exactly inspire confidence. In fact, quite the opposite.

I see McCain is jumping up and down because Europe is doing, well, nothing.

Sen. John McCain of Arizona has dismissed the European Union's sanctions on Russia following the crisis in Ukraine as "almost a joke" during a tour of the Baltic countries.

Speaking in Estonia on Tuesday, McCain said the EU's sanctions against a handful of Russian individuals and one financial institution were "minimal."

It might have helped if Ms Nuland hadn't gotten herself taped declaring F*ck the EU when she was deciding which corrupt unelected president was going to replace the elected corrupt president.

He's a fool if he thinks that will be forgotten by France or Germany.

Six Ukrainian tanks in Kramatorsk have reportedly switched sides and are now flying Russian flags.

Must have got fed up with being chased by terrifying Ladas. No doubt Kerry will see tanks flying Russian flags and announce that Russia has invaded.

Bit embarrassing, though - fancy Ukrainians not wanting 'liberated' by neo-nazis and Greystone mercenaries.

Ukrainian troops sent east by Kiev government to squash pro-Russian uprising kindly donate six armoured personnel carriers and a tank to pro-Russian uprising, to applause from terrifying local ladies.

The CIA really isn't awfully good at this 'intelligence' stuff, is it?

It starts with  a lot of shouting in Russian/Ukrainian, as the personnel carriers and tank are surrounded by terrifying blonde ladies, elderly men, teenagers taking pictures, stray dogs, etc.

After a bit of back-and-forth, there's much cheering, the army guys get down, people dance around in a big circle for a bit, the army guys sort-of line up, and there's more cheering.

Kerry, Hague and co will be SO disappointed no blood was shed.

Wow!! That's the way to do it!      

Washington's having a very bad week, what with their embarrassing retreat from the Bundy ranch and now this. Wonder when the message is going to get through?
