Yes, we are now in the middle of summer, and there still isn't a word about Gonc's 'new book' which Lovely Sofia promised would be out in April.

She even told the Sunday Express all about it:

Mr Amaral’s wife Sofia said: “Goncalo has been working on his book for about six months, spending days and nights assessing all the evidence. He has put in an enormous amount of work. The title has not been decided and a publication date will be sorted out this week.
“At this stage he doesn’t want to say too much, but he will say his investigation was cut short and he will explain what he would have done if he had been allowed to continue. The book is not just about Madeleine. He gives the background to other big cases he was involved with.

“The timing of this new book is just coincidental, nothing was planned. We are not trying to cash in on the fourth anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance and we do not want a fight over Kate’s book.”

That was on March 20th - and there is still no sign of the 'new book'.

Neither is there any sign of his first publishers, Guerra & Paz, removing The Truth - I'm a Liar from Ms Duarte's garage, despite her pleading with them to remove the junk.

I wonder if all this has anything to do with his criminal conviction for lying on oath being upheld?

Well, he has been awfully quiet since his sentence was confirmed, Tony...I think his last appearance was here, in CdM?

Considering that the libel case proper has yet to be heard and bearing in mind the original decisions, what publisher wants to even think of having to pay out even more money?

I guess they took Gonc at his word that it was the truth when they agreed to publish him.

If they have no regrets, where is his book of lies? Where is his new piece? Maybe no one wants to touch him with a barge pole at present? If you were a publisher, would you until the libel trial has finished?

What Publisher would want a convicted felon on their books; especially one convicted for lying?

Sad to say that some might, Tony, if it means a big profit although it might depend on the topic?

As for any book by Gonc on the subject of Madeleine, he would have to be very careful what he wrote. Except of course, if he were to win in the libel suit against him. Although that has a snowball's chance in hell.

Gonc only has the few cronies that bow to him now. The majority of Portuguese people hate the sight of him.

He wasn't accusing innocent people of harming their children, though, LL...all the UK big names who have ended up in jail have done the usual things...money, sex, etc.

Don't get excited, there still isn't any. But, in response to various people demanding to know why The Truth - I'm A Liar hasn't been returned to its author, Claudia had this to say:

It's not up to him to demand the book back. The books weren't his. It's up to the Publisher. And we don't know if they did or not.

Guerra & Paz don't want it back.

Guerra & Paz rue the day they ever heard the name 'Amaral'.

Guerra & Paz won't take it back for love nor money.

Sorry to get everyone's hopes up - there still isn't a 'new book'. Still, it's only six months overdue now...
In an idle moment, I had a look at the moribund Morais blog.

Apart from assorted squabbles about whether Textusa is

a. Slightly insane

b. Completely but curably insane

c. A total, psycho whackjob who should be someplace it can't harm innocent members of the public

This is the end of this sorry saga. THE MCCANNS WILL NEVER BE PROSECUTED....so we may as well all give up thinking otherwise, because quite frankly im sick to the back teeth of thinking they will stand trial..........IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN.

Even Mr Amaral has given up, he can't even be bothered to get his once banned books back even though the courts have granted him permission to have them back so that alone spells it out..

All what is happening now is everybody is going over the same old crap over and over and over again....it's boring now, unless the people who started this off ie Mr Amaral continue to persue them then its a closed shop, and lets face it Mr Amaral has done a disappearing act.....BOTTLED IT just like everyone else......

How many things can one person get wrong in one short post? Look and marvel at this, from Brat/Bennett fan Autumn, on MM. She demands of someone:

Out of interest, do you think that the McCanns should be hauled before a judge for not to returning Goncalo Amaral's books to him, as instructed by the courts. By refusing to do so, it would appear that the McCanns are in contempt of Court.

1. 'The McCanns' don't have the books.

2. The books do not belong to Gonc.

3. No-one has 'refused' to hand them over.

4. The books belong to Guerra & Paz, the publishers.

5. The publishers do not want them back out of storage.

6. G & P are no longer Gonc's publishers; they curse the day they ever heard his name, because he brought them nothing but trouble.

So stop dreaming up stupid stories about 'hauling the McCanns before a judge' over a pile of books no-one will touch with a ten-foot bargepole.

Then they wonder why we laugh at them.

But nothing about anyone physically transporting them, hence them still cluttering up Ms Duarte's garage?

I would suspect it was up to Guerra & Paz to send a van round to collect them from wherever they are stored?
But they seem strangely reluctant to go and retrieve their property....that, with them no longer being Gonc's publisher, rather tells its own story.
