I am fairly certain that Eddie wasn't half bad at finding people in a Search and Rescue Situation, which is what he was trained to do. Trying to later turn him into a Cadaver Dog was an act of gross stupidity, motivated by money and fame. And not a thought for innocent lives. And much good Martin Grime was as a Dog Handler.
I have had four Afghans and a Pekinese who could find a pile of Rotting Compost at ten miles distance, which had probably been peed upon many times by Park Attendants behind the Potting Shed.

We searched this apartment and the dog hasn’t shown any interest in this particular apartment, apart from around the table, where there was a tennis ball which is how we reward the dog for finding things, as soon as we removed the tennis ball the interest was gone. And so it was a negative search.

This whole business of Cadaver Dogs has gotten out of hand because there is no such thing as A Cadaver Dog. Cadaver Dogs don't exist. They are just Dogs who can find a Cadaver if there is one. But all Dogs can do that. So I own a Cadaver Dog.
Someone has got to put a stop to this because it is causing trouble without an iota of proof. No Law Enforcement should have a right to produce some ridiculous sniffing of a Dog to have someone hanged, drawn and quartered in The Court of Public Opinion.
