This has got to be grandstanding at it's best. The Brit voice and all.
Whatever happened to all of the American Cadaver Dogs? Or are American Dog Handlers more likely to tell the truth, as they did in The Anthony Case?

No, he isn't. That is NOT what Grime said, in court, on oath.

I haven't heard anything that convinces me Lane is guilty, Sabot. I *think* he is, but that isn't good enough, the prosecution have to prove it.

Why on earth was Grime parachuted in? It smacks of straw-clutching, from what we have heard so far.

Thieves take car with kids, run over Roseville mom's legs

Roseville — Two men drove over a Roseville mother's legs Thursday morning as she tried to stop them from stealing her sport-utility vehicle with her two children inside, police said.

Roseville Police Chief James Berlin said the woman sustained head and leg injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The men who stole her 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed into a telephone pole less than a mile away; the woman's children were unhurt.

Police say the woman was in her driveway in the 26000 block of Collingwood about 8:45 a.m., preparing to drive her children to school, when she went back into her home to get something and left the SUV running.

When she got back, she saw two men getting into the vehicle's front seat, according to authorities.

Officials say the woman ran to the SUV and screamed to stop the thieves from driving away with her children, but they sped off, hitting her with the car.

When they crashed in the 18000 block of Marquette, the men abandoned the Jeep and were seen getting into a dark-colored minivan or small sport-utility vehicle driven by another person.

Officers searched the area but did not find the men.

The woman's children are being cared for by family members.

Now, I thought Lane's version of events was too far-fetched to be true, but it would seem not.

If you read the Detroit papers, the crime level there is so appalling, just about anything seems to be possible.

Who knows?

I am looking forward to more of Grime's testimony coming online, he didn't exactly cover himself in glory yesterday.

OMG. Those children could have disappeared if the thieves hadn't crashed the car.

This won't help the current Case. And there was a get away car. Why would a carjacker need a getaway car unless they were after the children and not the car.

Nearly 1 in 16 homeowners become victims of burglary and theft. In 2009, the city has seen more than 379 cases of homicide. Scarcity of jobs in the much-populated city is the key reason of depression among the residents. This compels them to get involved in criminal activities.

Thanks, Tony, Reading some of the ghastly crimes which seem almost routine, parts of Detroit sound like Hell on earth.

And D'Andre is beginning to sound innocent. What a turn up that would be for Grime, and his pesky dogs.

Strange that? There must obviously be a very complicated reason why that is?

Jetlag, maybe? Grime does seem to have been on the scene awfully quickly.

It's also odd that the woofs showed no interest in Lane's clothing; and that they didn't seem able to actually find the little girl.

Expert testifies blood, saliva found on two-year-old Bianca Jones pillow

(WXYZ) - A police expert in the analysis of DNA testified Thursday in the Bianca Jones murder trial that a mixture of blood and saliva was found on the toddler's pillow.
The defense team for Bianca's father, D'Andre Lane who is charged with the two-year-old's murder, suggested it was a result of a teething child, not murder.
Lane says he was carjacked December 2, 2001 and claims Bianca was inside when the assailant took off with the car.
Prosecutors believe Lane lost his temper when Bianca soiled herself, killed her, then disposed of her body somewhere.
Bianca's grandmother also took the stand Wednesday to tell the jury how frustrated she was trying to get information from Lane about his reported carjacking. "I kept asking him questions", said Lilia Jones-Weaver. I couldn't get nothing out of him".
As Jones-Weaver was leaving the courtroom, she slowed down and leaned over to Lane and whispered "Where is she? Tell me where she is." The defense team stood up to alert the judge and Jones-Weaver appeared to be crying as she was quickly escorted out of the courtroom.
Prosecutors also called Carol Nevers to the stand. Nevers testified that she is related to Bianca but helped raise Lane and was like a mother to him.
Nevers told the jury that Lane didn't want Bianca to be born and that he even gave the child's mother about $150 dollars to terminate the pregnancy.
Lane has fathered seven children by seven different women. It's believed his youngest is less than a year old.

Tuesday, jurors were shown a video of Lane reenacting events he says unfolded on that day. The video was secretly recorded previously by FBI agents asking Lane to do so.
Investigators believe Lane killed Bianca for wetting her pants and created the carjacking story as a cover up.
Bianca's body has not been found. Wednesday a FBI dog handler testified that human decomposition was detected in Bianca's bedroom, car seat and Lane's vehicle two days after the child went missing.

What 'success'? The dog failing to alert to the accused, despite only a couple of days passing? The dog failing to alert unless a brown paper parcel was opened? Grime doing dog imitations?

Well yes, if you count standing in the witness box going Woof, woof woof, admitting you didn't actually know what the dog was barking at, admitting that the dog couldn't smell Death Miasma through brown paper, and admitting that the dog wasn't interested in the alleged killer, as 'key prosecution testimony'....

.....then I suppose he did. I suspect the jury won't be so easily impressed, however.

Grime sounds most unsure of himself. Until the very end, when he admits that the dog wasn't interested in the accused.

Which he should have been, given the alleged circumstances.

Why was there no Death Miasma on the clothing of the supposed perpetrator? He certainly didn't have time enough to get rid of his clothing, and nor is there any evidence that he even tried.
He is supposed to have carried this dead child by retrieving her from the closet and putting her in the car some hours later, and then removing her from the car to dispose of her body. But yet there is nothing to suggest that he did this. And all the while this Death Miasma is highly commutable.
And now we know that two more children could have been abducted, but for an accident with another high jacked car.

There's a long way to go yet, but if this was the prosecution's strongest evidence, then I will be surprised if Lane is convicted.

That clip was bad enough, and it wasn't even Grime's whole testimony. This made a farce of the whole thing:


Grime said there was no response during the first search, when the car seat was sealed inside the brown paper. He then asked officers to put a slit in the paper and move the car seat to another room.

41 Pound Springer Spaniel? Sheesh. That dog weighs more than my Shar Pei, who is bigger than your average Bull Dog, and just as muscular. Although probably irrelevant in the true scheme of things. But it does suggest that Morse gets a few too many Treats.
Over weight in dogs is a very bad thing, but Springer Spaniels are prone to this.
