The thing is, Sabot, Anna's blog is the hottest spot in town just now, so they are all reading it.

And one of the Duncroft 'victims' has shown up, threatening a 91-year-old woman, and generally acting like an abusive troll.

Not very good for the image; makes people start asking questions.

That Mewsical is very bad news, not least because she got pipped at the post.
It is quite simple. She made a blog post about the 1970s when she was no longer at Duncroft, and completely failed to do what Anna then did. Since when she has tried to catch some of the limelight. She has since gone on to suggest that the Mail Article could be true. And I can't be bothered to point out what is absolutely obvious to me.

I have been assured that she is schizophrenic, but I don't think I needed to be.

I always know where my loyalties lie. And it doesn't take me very long to work it out.

Jimmy Savile's name is to be removed from Scarborough's list of Freemen of the Borough. Councillors voted to delete his name from the role of honour as a gesture of support to his 300 alleged victims. There was also an unsuccessful call to exhume the disgraced presenter's body and cremate it following complaints from the distraught family of a child who is buried in a neighbouring grave.

The council will decide whether to permanently scrap Savile's Freedom of the Borough status when a Metropolitan Police investigation concludes. Leader of the council, Mr Tom Fox, who raised the motion to delete Savile's name from the honours board at a town hall meeting, said it was the first time such a move had been proposed in Scarborough.

He said: "We have some very serious issues, serious allegations and indeed the quotes we've heard from the Metropolitan Police don't use the word 'alleged'. They actually describe Jimmy Savile as a serial, predatory paedophile. I think it was most appropriate that the council, at least in the first instance, considered removing it from the board."
The late BBC star was awarded the accolade in November 2005 to celebrate his links with the North Yorkshire resort, where he owned a second home and was buried overlooking the sea a year ago.

Mr Colin Haddington, councillor for Filey, called for Savile's body to be dug up and cremated out of respect to families who visit the graveyard. He said: "I was approached by one of my constituents who informed me that her granddaughter is buried in Woodlands Cemetery and unfortunately Jimmy Savile has been buried very close by this lady's granddaughter. This has caused a great deal of distress to her constituent and her family. I put it to the council today if Jimmy Savile's body could be exhumed or cremated." He added that the response from the council was "disappointing" but acknowledged the decision could only be made by Savile's family.

The wooden plaque listing Scarborough's freemen - which adorns the town hall lobby - will be taken down and sent away to be changed on Tuesday.

Personally I find the council's suggestion in extremely bad taste. The man is dead, and for anyone to suggest the violation of his grave and the burning of his body is too much for me. And as you rightly say, bonny, we are still in the room marked 'Allegations', not in the one marked 'Proof'. LL

Especially as several of his accusers have been found to be liars, LL, it is most distasteful.

I have little doubt he was a dirty old man who would have benefited from getting his face slapped, but this witch hunt is disgusting, especially as the person who started it has a book to launch.

It's a rule of history - any time the mob is in full cry and out for blood, then the mob is wrong. They are acting like a bunch of mediaeval peasants convinced their neighbours' cats are familiars.

Savile was from the era where bottom pinching/groping etc were the norm for a 'healthy male', often copied from the somewhat saucy films from France, mainly, that became popular at that time. Also a lot of young men were travelling abroad to countries where such practices were in play. Savile was almost certainly a dirty young, then old, man with wandering hands. What one needs to be worried over is the discrepancies in some of the stories, and the obvious wish to get cash from his estate as 'compensation' for perceived wrongs. If you are going to make such accusations then you must get your story right from the start and stick to it; very minor deviations can be accepted but not rampant falsehood. What make me very leery of all this is, as I said earlier, the number of claimants. LL

I was sickened when I read that they were going for his estate, LL. Those millions weren't left to his family for high living - it was all going to charities. By the time the lawyers have finished, it will all be gone, and the 'victims' will be lucky to get enough for a Starbucks. So much for, Oh, we don't want money, we just want to tell our stories.

Then threats were being issued as the stories unravelled. No-one knows what is true, and what has been made up by people smelling compo - that surely is a job for the police to sort out, not the mob?

It seems there are screengrabs of the original 'victims' chatting merrily about stitching up Freddie Starr. What is going to happen if more material like that comes to light? It's a fortnight since there was all that big talk from the police about knocking on doors, and celebs being rounded up. And what's happened? Naff all - beyond Freddie Starr looks as if he is at Death's Door, and Gadd was arrested again. And no-one cares what happens to Gadd, least of all me.

This is all just too 'bread and circuses' for me. There are questions that do need answered - like WHAT ON EARTH WAS HE DOING RUNNING BROADMOOR?

But again, that's a job for the police. And naturally, there has been little or no coverage of what has been going on in Rochdale and other cities. Odd, that. Also, with all this sound and fury about a dead DJ - how much attention is actually being paid to this business of children in care in Wales and Tory grandees?

I know some are pressing for a proper investigation into that, but sadly, I can see that getting buried in a sea of endless committees and inquiries, which will get nowhere. If I was a really, really cynical person, I would say that the Tory party would rather the mob seethed about a dead DJ, and didn't look too closely about a rather more serious scandal involving itself.

It just seems sometimes as if the mob has been pointed at a dead DJ, so they don't look too closely at other matters more close to the government itself.

So is anyone going to be asked to prove any of this? The Police AND The Press are already quoting allegations as though they are proven facts.
Savile is dead, and this stuff can never be proven, so I think the best thing they can do is to give the victims 50 Quid each and share out the rest of his estate among the lawyers. And then they can all go away and write a book about it all.
The Charities can whistle, unless they want to claw back whatever they can from The Family, including the houses and such other things that Savile bought them before he died.
They certain sure can't hurt Jimmy Savile, and that's probably the only actual fact.

Jimmy Savile: Nephew died from 'heartbreak', say family

A nephew of Jimmy Savile may have died of heartbreak following abuse allegations against the former DJ and TV presenter, according to his family.

Vivian Savile, 69, a charity volunteer from Pontypridd and the only son of Jimmy's older brother Vincent, died last month.

His family said they believed he "hero-worshipped his uncle" and went into decline as the scandal erupted.

"Heartbreak may have been the cause of his condition," they said.

Vivian Savile died on 14 October in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant, after he was admitted nine days earlier.

His funeral on 29 October was attended by close family friends and staff from the local Red Cross shop where he worked as a volunteer.

Police believe Jimmy Savile, who died a year ago aged 84, could have abused as many as 300 people over a 40-year period.

They have described him as a "predatory sex offender" and are following 400 lines of inquiry.

'Quiet and withdrawn'
In a statement, Vivian Savile's family said he became depressed and unable to eat properly when the media storm surrounding his uncle erupted.

As a result, they said the keen cyclist became weak and unable to walk any distance which suggested "something was very wrong with him".

The family explained that Vivian Savile had spent time with his uncle in the 1970s, but lost touch with him when his parents divorced.

His father moved to Leeds with his family, but Vivian Savile remained with his mother in Porth, Rhondda Cynon Taf.

When his mother died, he moved to Pontypridd where he made a lot of friends, the family said.

"Although he had no contact with his father's family for 25 years, it is generally felt that when the current Savile scandal concerning Jimmy became almost daily news, the allegations affected his own self esteem.

"He hero-worshipped his uncle and was proud to be the last male member of the family with the surname Savile.

"At the height of the media blitz, he became quiet and withdrawn, leading to a lack of interest in almost anything including food."

Deborah Cogger, told her story about how Jimmy Savile groped her to BELLA magazine.

Deborah was just 14 and at an ‘approved school’ when Jimmy Savile came to visit one day. It was then he groped her. Deborah’s story had appeared on the front page of THE SUN newspaper when she contacted Featureworld for help. She’d been inundated with media requests and didn’t know which way to turn.

We took control and her story was placed with ITV THIS MORNING followed by this feature over two pages in BELLA mag.

Far from coming out only recently to tell her story, Deborah has been trying to get it out there for years. She had actually spoken with THE SUN months ago before she knew of any allegations from others. But like everyone they’d initially been reluctant to print for fear of dishonouring Sir Jimmy Savile’s memory.

So for Deborah – to finally get her story out there – this has been the something she never thought would happen.
