Murky indeed bonny, and I think Dimbleby summed the whole mess up very well; it does smack of a vendetta. The Mail has a very bad reputation these days regarding the truth. And now this has turned up:

A male accuser claimed the trio twice assaulted him at BBC Television Centre in West London when he was 18. He said Rossiter, who starred in the much-loved series The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin and Rising Damp, watched the second 1960s attack. It is the latest scandal to hit the Corporation following the mountain of claims made about Sir Jimmy Savile.

That article made Miss Jones sound like a demented old woman who was trying to defend something indefensible. And I just don't believe that this is what she is.
In fact I felt a bit sick after reading it. So I hope her lawyers have been doing something about it.
I have long read The Mail, but in the last few days I have been appalled by their unproven allegations, their refusal to publish any dissent, and the number of unresearched statements they have published.

I am disgusted with the Mail's role in this, Sabot. They used to be a semi-respectable newspaper, but their recent conduct has been worse than NOTW ever was.

It's a pity, their photo-journalism is world class, but whoever is writing the words these days is nothing more than a muck-raking lizard.

I wish one of the heavies, like the Telegraph, had got involved in this, I don't see them being as totally irresponsible and mendacious as the Mail is being. And it is irresponsible.

If people have useful information - then GIVE IT TO THE POLICE.

I am disgusted as well, Bonny. For forty odd years I have relied on The Mail to be at least careful about what they print. But this is awful. And if they have deliberately misquoted an elderly lady who Anna Raccoon has said is far from losing her marbles, then I hope someone hangs them.
Anna Raccoon said that Miss Jones's memory is still excellent, and that she is a fair and honest woman, so would she be making libellous statements to The Press at a time like this?

I would think that when they didn't get the story they were hoping for, they manufactured one.

I seem to recall that that Claire Ellicot one was trawling the internet looking for lurid stories some weeks back. She certainly isn't playing with clean hands.

It sounds like it, Bonny. It sounds as though this Ellicot woman tried to trick Miss Jones with questions to which she possibly got vague and not at all precise answers, so she embroidered on them.
Despicable to try and trick a woman of 91 who gave many years service to disadvantaged girls, most of whom appear to be extremely grateful for her kindness and care.

IMO, a lot of this is payback for Leveson, Sabot. The hypocrisy is sickening - wind the sheeples up about dead/dying BBC personalities, but don't do any kind of in-depth reporting on ROCHDALE and elsewhere.

Are children in care in the year 2012, who have been/are being prostituted and pimped out by low-life scum less interesting than the compo-seekers? Because they shouldn't be, not in any civilised society.

Mail readers should be screaming to high Heaven for these children to be valued, respected and COMPENSATED in the hope they can build a future for themselves, but no, there is dead silence.

Reading round the internet over the past few days, I noticed something else very unpleasant and troubling.

The gossip and hysteria is reaching such a point that BBC employees who are gay are now being called 'perverts' too. In the course of the hoo-ha about this unknown Tory grandee, anyone connected to politics who wasn't (on the face of it) married with the standard 2.4 children was being 'named and shamed' as a 'pervert' on the internet.

Society is going backwards, from where I am sitting, if anyone who isn't an avowed heterosexual is going to be a target for the hysterical mob.

The fall-out from this is also going to do real damage to child protection, IMO.

The Mail is outright lying about one or two things. Although it goes against the grain to see public money thrown down the drain, I hope this DOES all go to court, where all these 'claims' can be subjected to proper scrutiny.

Sorry. I haven't paid as much attention to Rochdale as perhaps I should have done, but I do tend to wonder where the hell were the parents of these abused girls, and what the girls were doing wandering the streets unprotected and getting targetted in the first place.

We had a very nice Children's Home almost next door, and in a very nice area of Plymouth, and some of these kids were rampaging around and stealing wholesale. But if you complained you were just told that they were disadvantaged. I even caught one of the little sods in my living room helping himself, but The Police who came to collect him told me that I should feel sorry for him. And that was only what I caught him stealing.

I guess I am just tired of a society that blames anyone but the perpetrator, or the so called victim. I am tired of a society that never blames the parents or the care givers.

Most of them were in the 'care' of social services and the local authorities, Sabot - which is where the scandal comes in.

Some of them tried to get help, and were brushed aside as having made 'lifestyle choices'.

But hey, let's not investigate the politically-correct, loony lefties who did NOTHING about it, let's doorstep 90-year-old women over something that may, or may not have happened, in 19-teacake.

It is disgusting hypocrisy.

Yes, I know, Bonny, But this isn't just about a bunch of licentious Muslim men who despise women and young girls of some other Faith. They despise women of their own Faith as well, and probably quite frequently rape them.
The whole thing is nuts. But no one knows what goes on in their houses until they kill one of their daughters.
Don't know what to do about it.

That's my sympathy for them dropped another ten points. I have no doubt the MSM will be watching that blog; the 'victims' needn't complain if there is a sudden sea-change at hitherto-supportive publications when they are seen to be trying stunts like that.

Women who claim they were abused by Jimmy Savile at a girls' school were "delinquents" who are "looking for money" by making allegations against the late TV entertainer, their former headteacher has said.

But Margaret Jones admitted she was "hoodwinked" by Savile, whom she allowed to sleep overnight at Duncroft Approved School in the 1970s.

Allegations linked to three former pupils of the school were made in 2007 but Surrey police said they would not speak to former staff at Duncroft unless there was evidence they had witnessed or been told about sexual abuse.

A child protection expert told the Daily Telegraph this week that the failure to speak to the former headteacher as part of the investigation was a missed chance to catch Savile while he was alive.

But Jones said no one ever reported any abuse to her. She told the Daily Mail: "They had an opportunity to tell anybody. But it suited them – some of them, not all of them – to wait 30 years. They're all looking for money … they come out of the woodwork for money. I do object to my school being targeted … wild allegations by well-known delinquents."

Savile was allegedly allowed to stay overnight at the school and take pupils on unsupervised drives in his Rolls-Royce, according to the Daily Mail. At the time of the allegations the school was run by the children's charity Barnardo's, which told police they had no record of any sexual abuse reported to staff. Former pupils have alleged they reported Savile's abuse only to be dismissed by Jones.

The former headteacher said: "I was hoodwinked by Jimmy Savile. I thought he was a nice man. Not one person ever told me about Jimmy Savile. Nobody told me he was a pervert. I've just been talking to one of my [former] staff. We are horrified.

"If they didn't tell me about Jimmy Savile, they deserve all they get. They should've reported him. They knew if they reported him to me I'd report him to the police. And I have reported people to the police.

I just don't know, Bonny. I find the Rochdale Muslim business entirely different from Duncroft, and nothing much to do with bright girls who needed help.
Absolutely certainly not were all working class girls lacking in high IQs. High IQ isn't the prerogative of middle or upper class children. I know that for my own sake.
As far as I can see society has completely broken down. These girls who are totally neglected by their parents and society, are allowed to run wild, and consequently become the target of unscrupulous Muslim men? Unless one believes that all Pimps are Muslims, of course. Which is patently untrue. All Pimps are not Muslims. So who is doing anything about the rest of them? Who ever taught these girls that there is a better way? Are these girls to never take responsibility for what they do? Are they entirely victims?
