They are all galloping towards disaster and none of them seem to be able to see it. It is stunning in it's idiocy.

Re: Jimmy Savile accused in ITV documentary
This one is dated the 11th November - I'd missed it earlier:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/freddie-starr-hands-police-dossier-1430275
Quote:
FREDDIE Starr has handed a dossier to police that he believes will finally clear his name.
The comic, 69, compiled the “damning new evidence” with the help of lawyer Dean Dunham and a team of private detectives who have been “working non-stop round the clock”.
A pal of the popular star said of the crucial files: “The stuff in there is unbelievable. Freddie’s team have left absolutely no stone unturned in their mission to help prove his innocence.
“The police have been given everything now so they have the full picture. Hopefully it won’t be long until Freddie’s nightmare as a suspect is finally over.
“This allegation is ruining his life and his career.
“A lot of venues are too scared to book him for a show until his innocence is proven.”
No doubt his private detectives have found out all about just how many untruths have been told by the shriekers and pointers.

I don't know. But I have got this theory that you have to come up with evidence. I could be wrong about this. In fact, I could well be. In fact, I am almost certain that I am wrong about this.

Jimmy Savile scandal: Dame Janet Smith seeks witnesses
Quote:
Dame Janet's review is designed to "examine whether the BBC's culture and practices during those years enabled the sexual abuse of children to continue unchecked".
Part of her role is to obtain evidence from people who allege inappropriate sexual conduct on the part of Savile and investigate "whether BBC personnel knew or ought to have known of Savile's conduct".
The Dame Janet Smith Review website says it would like to hear from those who were the subject of inappropriate sexual conduct by the presenter on BBC premises or on location, and from those who were aware of or suspected such conduct.
It also seeks information from anyone who complained or raised concerns about Savile within the BBC, and from people familiar with its culture and practices, including those who held senior positions.
Dame Janet, a former appeal court judge, will also consider whether the BBC child protection and whistle-blowing policies are fit for purpose.
It will be interesting to see if she gets many actual witnesses, as opposed to compo-seekers who shriek and point.

Re: Jimmy Savile accused in ITV documentary
This is bizarre:
http://profpurvis.com/
If accurate, it suggests that that Thompson person who headed for the Big Apple, declaring, I know nothing! did know - or should have - as the BBC had earlier threatened to sue over allegations about Savile.
What a mess this is; I am totally lost now.
ETA quote:
But I am as certain as I can be that Mills and Reeve specifically refer to ‘BBC premises’ in their letter on behalf of Thompson and Boaden.
How could the solicitors have denied the allegations about events on BBC premises on behalf of Thompson if he had not understood them?
The bottom line would appear to be that the man who now runs one of the world’s great newspapers did , earlier this year in his BBC role, put his name to a threat of legal action against one of the world’s other great newspapers after they put to him an allegation about Savile’s behaviour at the BBC that now seems to be accepted as fact.

Re: Jimmy Savile accused in ITV documentary
I don't think that I can cope with this anymore.
Basically a good man who actively raised millions of pounds for Charity is being torn to shreds without a vestige of evidence. And there will never be any evidence.
Apart from anything else it is simply not possible to prove that Jimmy Savile ever did anything inappropriate. And God forbid what ever motivated this in the first place. But whoever they are then I hope that God will get them.
I personally place no importance on Karma. Karma is a much too personal. And only in my own head.

Savile Cops Arrest Man For Sex Offences
10:27am UK, Thursday 15 November 2012
A man in his 60s and from Bedfordshire is being held by police investigating the Jimmy Savile child abuse scandal.
He was arrested at 7.45am on suspicion of sexual offences and is being questioned.
A police spokesman said the allegations made against him do not directly involve Savile and are classed under the strand of their investigation termed "others".
The Metropolitan Police Service is leading a national investigation into abuse allegations made against the disgraced television presenter.
So far, around 450 potential victims have come forward and 200 allegations of sexual assault have been made.
Officers are looking at three strands within their inquiry - claims against Savile, those against Savile and others, and those against others.
Most of the "others" allegations have been made against people associated with the entertainment industry.
So far Gary Glitter, comedian Freddie Starr and a 73-year-old man have been arrested and bailed in connection with the investigation.
More follows...
-------
So, it isn't directly related to Savile? That'll disappoint MWT, he needs to whip up a bit of interest in his Xmas Grope Special.
He must be praying it isn't another of his witnesses.

Incidentally, I would be interested to know why the media keep knocking two or three years off Ms Ward's age when they are recounting her tales of My Grope Hell.
She was born in Spring 1958 - which is a matter of record.

If the Met have stated that, why is Brunt mouthing off re former TOTP presenter? Maybe he knows something - or wants us to believe he does? LLIt is the fourth arrest by Operation Yewtree officers.
In a statement, the Met said the latest arrest "falls under the strand of the investigation we have termed 'Others'", meaning the allegations are unrelated to Savile.

Ex-BBC presenter charged with child sex abuse
By AFP | AFP – Tue, Nov 13, 2012
A former BBC presenter has been charged with sexually abusing children, although it was not related to the ongoing Jimmy Savile investigations, British police said on Tuesday.
Norfolk Police said that Michael Souter, a former presenter for BBC Radio Norfolk in eastern England, had been charged with 18 offences against boys, one offence against a man and one against a woman. The alleged offences date back to between 1979 and 1999.
A spokesman for the force told AFP the charges were not connected to Operation Yewtree, the Scotland Yard investigation into the late BBC star Jimmy Savile who is now accused of sexually abusing hundreds of children over four decades.
Souter, 59, is due to appear before Norwich Magistrates' Court in Norfolk on November 30.
The former radio presenter, who now runs a media consultancy, issued a statement "strenuously" denying the allegations.
"This is the third time that Norfolk Police have investigated these alleged offences," he said.
"On both previous occasions, the Crown Prosecution Service advised against making charges." He added that the current investigation against him started two years ago.

Breaking: I can confirm that the man arrested as part of the wider #Savile investigation this morning is Dave Lee Travis
Oh, FFS! I just knew it would be something stupid like this.
I cannot imagine how young people - like the poor girls in Rochdale - who are victims of real, horrible, vicious and violent abuse RIGHT NOW feel when they see the endless time and money being wasted on Historic Alleged Groping by ageing DJs.

Former Radio 1 DJ Dave Lee Travis is arrested in Jimmy Savile sex abuse investigation
Former breakfast show host held at his home in Leighton Buzzard at 7.45am this morning
He is the fourth man to be arrested in connection with Operation Yewtree
Gary Glitter, Wilfred De'ath and Freddie Starr previously arrested
Police investigating allegations of sexual abuse by Jimmy Savile have today arrested former BBC Radio 1 star David Lee Travis on suspicion of sexual offences.
Mr Travis, 67, is the fourth suspect to be arrested as part of Operation Yewtree after former BBC producer Wilfred De'ath, 73, former pop star Gary Glitter, 68, and comic Freddie Starr, 69.
The other three have since been released on bail.
The former Radio 1 Breakfast Show host, has previously strenuously denied allegations of sexual assault.
Mr Travis, from Bedfordshire, who hosted the breakfast show from 1978 to 1980, was arrested at 7.45am and has been taken into police custody where he is being questioned.
Police confirmed a man in his 60s had been arrested as part of investigations into the Jimmy Savile abuse scandal.
A neighbour of Mr Travis confirmed today that the broadcaster is being held in Aylesbury Police Station, Buckinghamshire.
The neighbour, who lives next door to the home of Mr Travis in Mentmore, Leighton Buzzard, Bedforshire, didn’t want to be identified but visited the DJ’s home to lend support to the broadcaster’s wife.
When he emerged and was asked if the DJ was present during his visit, he said he wasn’t and all he could say was that he had been told Travis was being held at Aylesbury Police Station where he was taken after his 7.45am arrest this morning by officers from Scotland Yard.
Police said the allegations made against a man in his 60s do not directly involve Savile, and are classed under the strand of their investigation termed 'others'.

Dave Lee Travis arrested as part of Jimmy Savile sex abuse probe
Dave Lee Travis, the former Top of the Pops presenter, has been arrested by detectives investigating allegations of historic sexual abuse.
By Martin Evans, Crime Correspondent1:18PM GMT 15 Nov 2012
The 67-year-old DJ was arrested by officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Operation Yewtree at his home in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, at 7.45am on suspicion of sexual offences.
He is the fourth person to be arrested as part of the investigation which began after scores of allegations were made against the late presenter Jimmy Savile.
Scotland Yard’s investigation is looking at three categories of alleged offences; those involving Jimmy Savile, those involving Savile and others and those involving others.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police would not confirm the identity of the person arrested, but said they came under the ‘others’ strand of the investigation.
A neighbour of the former disc jockey confirmed that the broadcaster is being held in Aylesbury Police Station, Bucks.
The neighbour, who lives next door to the home of Travis visited the DJ's home to lend support to the broadcaster's wife.
Mr Travis made his name as a DJ on the pirate station Radio Caroline in the mid 1960s before joining Radio 1 in 1968.
He became one of the station’s most established presenters, becoming known as the Hairy Cornflake, when he took over from Noel Edmonds as presenter of the Breakfast Show in May 1978.
He also presented Top of the Pops between 1974 and 1984, but left the Corporation in dramatic style in 1993, resigning live on air, in protest at changes being made to Radio 1.
Since then he has worked for a number of commercial radio stations, most recently appearing on the Magic Network.
Aung San Suu Kyi met DJ Dave Lee Travis when she visited the BBC World Service in London in June 2012 (BBC/Getty)
Last year Burmese pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi said Mr Travis’s BBC World Service music request show had given her a lifeline during her many years under house arrest.
The Nobel Peace Prize winner said, A Jolly Good Show, which was broadcast between 1981- and 2001 had made her world “much more complete”.
There is no suggestion that any allegations of paedophilia have been made against Mr Travis, but two women have come forward in recent weeks claiming he groped them during the 1970s and 1980s.
One of the women, who was aged 17 at the time alleged that Mr Travis had invited her into his studio in 1977 and put his hand up her skirt.
Speaking last month when the allegations surfaced, Mr Travis said: “I categorically deny that there is any substance in either allegation and I’m genuinely surprised that allegations of this nature have been made. I totally refute any impropriety.”
Mr Travis also said he would be more than happy to speak to the police to clear up the matter

Re: Jimmy Savile accused in ITV documentary
Well, maybe they should just arrest everyone who ever presented Top of the Pops (for fashion crimes, if nothing else).
Make sure at least four police cars go to every arrest, and that Sky News are notified in advance, so they can whip up indignation. The UK police have nothing better to do than arrest ageing DJs and appear on Sky News.
Every single teenager who was ever at TOTP, (or who watched it, just to be on the safe side) should be given a self-taught Abuse Expert, lawyer and media spokespersons to liaise with the police and a nice round sum, like £100,000 of taxpayers' money, to recover from the horror of seeing one of Ed Stewpot's jerseys, or even worse, hearing Tony Blackburn sing.
Mark Williams Thomas can be in charge of the whole thing, as the UK's Perv Finder General.
