Re: Judgement on Bennett
Anthony Bennett @zampos
@SafariSara Letters to PM DIDN'T say Drs #McCann CAUSED M's death, just there was CREDIBLE EVIDENCE she died in Apt 5A: see Tugendhat ruling
Cheers for repeating that outrageous and false accusation, I can hear gales of laughter coming from a certain office in central London, St Andrews Lane, I do believe

J B Littlemore @JBLittlemore
Would a member fo the defence for #McCann please post link to @zampos stating K&G killed/caused (directly) the death of Madeleine. Now, TY.
Well, the really bad ones would be repeating the libel. But don't worry, those who need the proof, have the screenshots

Re: Judgement on Bennett
Just a reminder for anyone who missed the Mirror:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/madeleine-mccanns-parents-in-court-bid-1397269
Madeleine McCann's parents in court bid to jail retired lawyer accusing them of causing girl’s death
25 Oct 2012 00:00
Mr Justice Tugendhat said the couple’s case against Mr Bennett should be heard “as soon as practicable
Court bid: Kate and Gerry McCann
The parents of Madeleine McCann yesterday won their latest court battle with a retired lawyer they say is waging a harassment campaign against them.
Gerry and Kate McCann want the High Court to jail Tony Bennett, 65, who has accused them of causing their daughter’s death, disposing of her body and covering up what they had done.
Mr Justice Tugendhat said the couple’s case against Mr Bennett should be heard “as soon as practicable”.
In 2009, Mr Bennett, of Harlow, Essex, promised to stop making allegations against the McCanns.
They claim he has breached that formal undertaking more than 150 times and are now seeking his imprisonment, or other punishment, for alleged contempt of court.
Mr Bennett wants the court to “vary” the undertakings so he can publish his “credible evidence” Madeleine died in their holiday home in May 2007.
==============
Now, let me get this straight.
Bennett thinks he is free to make up any old nasty garbage about people, and spread it all over the internet? He isn't particularly fussy, he has made up nasty garbage about gays, Muslims, women - just about anyone he decides to pick on.
But when a national newspaper publishes a brief, accurate report on HIM, he starts screaming blue murder?
What hypocrisy!
And if the hounders are screaming about this, how on earth do they think they are going to cope when Bennett is finally in the dock, and the whole world gets to hear about what they have been doing to the McCanns, and others?

Oh goodie. I am sure things became crystal clear after the Mirror staff read all those screenshots of Bennett posts, what he did to Christmas carols, etc.

Re: Judgement on Bennett
It really would not surprise me if the Mirror Group backed down and apologised to Bennett.
I have never seen him make the accusation directly. He always couches it in other ways. And it is possible that the Mirror will err on the side of caution till he is actually convicted of that particular libel.

We'll see. I would not be at all surprised if he gets the same kind of non-'apology' which a certain showbiz writer got from the Sun

Re: Judgement on Bennett
Please don't get me wrong. I don't for one minute believe he deserves an apology. Just that the Mirror Group may give him one. Such an apology would in fact be meaningless because it is the court that matters and their decision will be published very widely.

Re: Judgement on Bennett
I didn't think you were for one minute, Greenink.
I was just factoring in two things.
1. Bennett tends to be economical with the truth.
2. The media know all about him. For instance, it isn't often that the PCC rules that it is perfectly correct to refer to a group of people, and their activities, as Vile Sickos.

Re: Judgement on Bennett
A forker complains:
It is still on the online version though available to the, world
What happened to all that Free Speach, then? I thought they were all for fair comment?
Oh wait, I know. It's different when it's them who are on the receiving end of free speech. What are they going to be like once Bennett is in the dock and his Bad Acts are plastered everywhere?

Re: Judgement on Bennett
Oh Good. It is still in the online version.
Are we seriously supposed to believe that Bennett never meant such a thing? That Madeleine got out of bed unsedated and had an accident? Why would The McCanns and their friends go to such horrendous lengths to cover up that? Running around a strange country, hiding and recovering a body for three weeks, if Madeleine had died accidentally, and through no real fault of theirs.
Anyone with half a brain knows what he meant. He meant that The McCanns caused Madeleine's death.

I do hope Carter Ruck read out his disgusting parody of Silent Night to the court. Not much doubt about the meaning of that, is there.

I think that copies of all his worst claims and posts should be sent to the people he has been encouraging his followers on Haverns to pester with emails. Only in order to balance things up of course.

Re: Judgement on Bennett
Oh, the irony! Hounder:
Nothing but front page will do, if it's stuck on anything from page 2 onwards in a tiny box at the bottom of the page we will know where Rousewell and his colleagues sit! The newspapers and their journalists are all so scared of the McCanns all they think about is their huge salaries they get every year, they don't think about the lives they destroy whilst spouting their rubbish.
And what about the lives Bennett and his gang deliberately try to destroy while spouting their venom? Don't their victims count?

Neither, its just the honest factual TROOF. Something that he doesn't seem to recognise even when it bites him on the rear.

Total idiot. The best he is going to get is retraction of that single line about cause and thats not done and dusted yet. And as the original article never made the front page it would be ridiculous to expect any 'apology' to be placed there. They are complete idiots even thinking that a possibility.

Okay, so I am tail end Charlie on the minutae of the case, but don't I remember somewhere bentit complaining re something that had appeared in a newspaper about him and the paper in question merely acknowledging having received his comment, but no apology. Again, if I am wrong, feel free to beat me up! LL
