Such a pity Bennett hasn't payed attention to what has been reported correctly. He may not be in the situation he is in now if he had. He will lose and lose badly. For that he only has himself to blame.

I find it ironic that he runs crying to the PCC if he doesn't like what he reads about himself - but claims to believe every single bit of trash about the McCanns is true.

No, it wasn't. That is completely untrue, as they would know if they ever bothered to actually check anything, instead of believing bolleaux from Portuguese tabloids.

Well, how hard would it have been to check the source of that particular rubbish, Tony? It would have taken seconds for the hounder 'researchers' to find out that it was only a Portuguese tabloid and didn't actually happen. But they didn't bother, they just kept on repeating the lie.

Why they expect sympathy, I do not know. They're so busy hating, they can't even be bothered to do the most basic checks.

Books that have been discredited at that. Seriously, Amaral's book bears little resemblance to the official files.

That's the most ironic part of it, isn't it, Tony? Gonc's book doesn't even resemble the internet versions of the police files - but they haven't bothered to cross-check it with the online files.

If they had done, they would know how much he has plain and simply invented.

I was hoping Bonny, he had at least a modicum of sense and checked his details more thoroughly. It would have made for an even fight then. As it is, he will lose.

Gonc's book was published just as the case was shelved, so just before The Files were released, and at least six months after he was sacked from the case, during which time he should not have known what had happened or what conclusions had been reach for whatever reason.
His book is based entirely on the cock up he made of the investigation in the first six months after Madeleine was abducted. And on his assertion that The McCanns were guilty. I doubt he has ever even read The Files himself.

Madeleine's disappearance ceased to be any of his concern in October 2007, when he was kicked off the case. He shouldn't have had access to any information.

Yet we are supposed to believe he read the files, wrote The Truth - I Lied, got it printed and published, in a matter of days between the release of the files and the publication of his 'book'.

It cannot be based on the police files, unless he was illicitly being passed information.

Whichever way you look at it, Gonc wasn't being passed any accurate information since as far as I can see there doesn't appear to be any accurate information in his book.

And then there were all of those appalling radio and television interviews, most of which were made after he would have had time to read The Files, but none of those were related to what was in The Files either.

Nope. Gonc hasn't read The Official Files. Bearing in mind that he wouldn't even have had to get them translated. But then they bear no resemblance to his book, so they wouldn't have been of much use to him.

What I find particularly ironic is that Bennett has based his booklets etc on Gonc's fictional works.

So it will be Gonc who has caused him to lose money and whatever else is thrown at him.

It makes Bennett's fawning of the incompetent ex-cop more ridiculous when you think about it. GAAD and GASP spring to mind.

If, as already trailed, the strange lawyer from Madeira, Marcos Aragao Corriea, is called as a witness against Dr Goncalo Amaral in the fianl act of McCanns v Amaral, the cross-examination of him could be more than interesting. I'll try to post a bit more about hm on this thread, but for for starters, who remembers this outburst of his from over two years ago?

......so, if Marcos is all that dreadful, how come he and Professor Dore were supported in the Faro court by:

1. The defence.

2. The prosecution.

3. The judge.

Doesn't that tell Bennett anything? He can rant and rave at his hounders as much as he wants, it makes no difference, and it isn't going to change reality.
