But you can’t intimidate a modern fighter jet by waving around a sword and if you’re a newbie on the Mid-East militant scene, you can’t scare a three decade veteran by beheading a couple of people, which is why if you’re ISIS, the combination of the Russian Air Force and Hezbollah ground troops is absolutely terrifying.
We don't seem to have seen any glossy ISIS propaganda videos for a couple of weeks. What happened, did the CIA cut their funding?

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
https://www.rt.com/news/318926-syria-latakia-refugee-camps/
RT’s Murad Gazdiev has been reporting from Latakia, where the Syrian army has been fighting back against the extremists. The other side of that story are the Syrians themselves – especially those who have been displaced and have fled to sprawling refugee camps.
Look at that report, and note the differences between those Syrians that are displaced within their own country, and the mobs swarming Europe.
One look is enough to tell you that those people - women, children and the elderly - are genuine refugees.
And look at the shrines of mementoes of their dead men, and remember, we in the West backed the terrorists that did this to them.

As at September 2015:
Turkey: 1.9 million
Remarkably, this country now shelters almost half of the Syrian refugees and clearly has more than it can handle.
It's the No. 1 destination for displaced families.
Geography explains much of it: Turkey and Syria share a border.
The masses are so vast that 14% of them are sheltered in camps, U.S. figures show.
A staggering share of them are children and teens: More than half are under age 17, according to U.N.

Some photos there of a re-invigorated Iraqi army knocking sh*t out of ISIS - in all the other uproar, it's almost been forgotten that Iraq and Iran have kissed and made up, and joined the Russia-Syria alliance.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-10-17/mainstream-media-finally-admits-syrian-conflict-us-russia-proxy-war
“A December 13, 2006 cable, ‘Influencing the SARG [Syrian government] in the End of 2006,’ indicates that, as far back as 2006 – five years before Arab Spring protests in Syria – destabilizing the Syrian government was a central motivation of U.S. policy. The author of the cable was William Roebuck, at the time chargé d’affaires at the U.S. embassy in Damascus. The cable outlines strategies for destabilizing the Syrian government. In his summary of the cable, Roebuck wrote:
‘We believe Bashar’s weaknesses are in how he chooses to react to looming issues, both perceived and real, such as the conflict between economic reform steps (however limited) and entrenched, corrupt forces, the Kurdish question, and the potential threat to the regime from the increasing presence of transiting Islamist extremists. This cable summarizes our assessment of these vulnerabilities and suggests that there may be actions, statements, and signals that the USG can send that will improve the likelihood of such opportunities arising.’”
These cables reflect an even older plan, which was detailed by Dan Sanchez at AntiWar.com:
“A veritable ‘carpe chaos’ manifesto was written in 1996 for a Washington think tank by David Wurmser, an Israel-first neocon (but I repeat myself) who would later play a key role in the Bush administration’s drive to the Iraq War: advising Dick Cheney in the Vice President’s Office, assisting John Bolton at the State Department, and fabricating fanciful ‘connections’ between Iraq and Al Qaeda at the Department of Defense.
In ‘Coping with Crumbling States: A Western and Israeli Balance of Power Strategy for the Levant,’ Wurmser made a case for ‘limiting and expediting the chaotic collapse’ of the Baathist governments in Iraq and Syria.”
Utterly disgusting - if there is any justice at all, the bloodthirsty lunatics responsible would be in the dock in the Hague, charged with crimes against humanity.
We really do need to stop telling ourselves we're the good guys.

Syrian jihadists feud & bomb each other over funds as Russian jets destroy supply lines

Russian attack jets have hit 51 Islamic State targets in Syria in the past 24 hours, including four command posts, six arms depots, a mortar battery, two underground bunkers, 32 field camps and six outposts.
The strikes took place in the Latakia, Aleppo, Hama and Damascus provinces.
The damage the Russian SU-34 jets caused to the underground bunkers was especially significant, Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said.
They hit the terrorists' underground infrastructure in Homs, which had allowed the militants to move undetected and increase their effectiveness in combat.
The well-funded Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) has been hiding whole weapons caches underground, which included explosive devices for carrying out terrorist attacks.
A small missile factory was among the objects destroyed. However, these underground bases and conduits are believed to be widespread across Syria, so more work needs to be done, Konashenkov says.

A frontline supply junction for transporting fuel, arms and food supply lines was also hit in the Damascus province.
The entire command infrastructure of one of the terrorist groups operating in the Hama province was disrupted by the strikes, sending the militants fleeing from the area, the Defense Ministry added.
According to information from the Russian armed forces, desertions on a massive scale are occurring amongst IS ranks in the north and north-east of the country. In the Raqqa province, IS has started a mobilization of everyone aged 14 and over
In Idlib and Hama, field commanders with Al-Nusra Front are resorting to separating families at gunpoint in order to get their hands on ever younger child soldiers.
Fighting between different jihadist groups over territory control and funds are also on the rise, the Defense Ministry report states. Intercepted radio communications suggest that IS has targeted Al-Nusra Front with three car bombings in the past week.
IS leaders are demanding that their field commanders employ more car bombs and other home-made explosives against advancing Syrian forces, the report says

Destroying supply lines? How fiendishly clever - why didn't Washington think of that?

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
Reading US comments in the media, etc., it does seem to be sinking in slowly, Lily, but I suspect it is going to be very difficult for many Americans to face up to the fact that they are now the bad guys in the eyes of the world.
This isn't meant as a criticism of the American people, please don't think that, but they've been fed so much sh*t over the last few years by Washington, the truth may be hard to deal with?
Personally, I hope they're so disgusted when they do realise what has been done in their name, they march on Washington with pitchforks and torches and burn the place to the ground.

Re: Syrian terrorists being trained by US
It is, IMO, a good sign that Trump has brought up a few awkward questions about the Middle East - and events leading up to 9/11, Lily.
I have absolutely NO time for so-called '9/11 Truthers', with their babblings about holographic planes, and their utter ignorance of physics and chemistry, but if it makes people start thinking about just how it happened, and who profited from it, that can only be good.
Now, if he'd like to ask why Iraq was invaded, instead of Saudi Arabia....

IMO, it's only someone like Trump who can set the ball rolling, Lily. Anything spouted by that fat slug Michael Moore is only listened to by other moonbats, who, for all their noise, do not represent the famous silent majority.
They're the ones that need to stop being silent and start getting angry.
