A video has been released purporting to show British aid convoy volunteer Alan Henning being beheaded by Islamic State.

The 47-year-old former taxi driver, originally from Eccles in Greater Manchester, was captured by militants last December while delivering aid in Syria.

Since then family, friends and colleagues have made repeated calls for him to be released.

However, a video posted on YouTube appears to show Mr Henning being beheaded by a man in a black mask.

The video shows Mr Henning kneeling down in front of a man with a knife.

Last month, Mr Henning's wife renewed calls for his release.

In her first televised interview since he was captured, Barbara Henning said her family was "dreadfully concerned".

Last week, Mrs Henning revealed she had received an audio message from her husband pleading for his life.

No, there isn't, is there? It's just an endless stream of pointless deaths and heartbroken families, in the cause of - what? I don't know, I have NO idea what the western allies think they are going to achieve. Even worse, they don't seem to know, either.

From the money spent so far on pointless bomb runs, all the hostages could have been ransomed - with a strict warning that anyone else that puts themselves in harms' way is on their own. You only have to read the news to see all this high-tech bombing is achieving less than nothing.

Just look at the money it cost for the RAF to bomb a stolen pick-up truck; that's really going to defeat terrorism.

I really don't know why it isn't sinking in that bombing the Middle East yet again is creating MORE terrorists, not fewer. I can't even work out who is on whose 'side' any more - and why is Turkey suddenly making outraged noises? They were backing jihadists; a year ago, they were all set to blow up that tomb they're now so concerned about and blame Assad, just like they did with the gas attack.

An ancient prophecy that sees an "infidel horde" in a monumental battle with an Islamic army in the Syrian town of Dabiq has apparently been seized upon by IS fundamentalists.

The Sunni Muslim tale dates back more than 1,300 years and tells of the "horde" flying 80 banners before an Islamic triumph that triggers the end of days.

It has become a fundamental part of the philosophy that drives Islamic State militants.



That sounds like the sort of nonsense Bennett believes.

I recall Bennett getting unpleasantly excited earlier in the civil war in Syria because it looked as if Damascus was going to be attacked; this fulfilled some stupid Bible prophecy or other. No concern for the thousands of people facing death - just excitement about the idiotic prophesy. Fundamentalists are all the same.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei says efforts by the US and its allies against the ISIL Takfiri terrorists are not genuine.

“If anyone fuels the fire in this regard, he or she will definitely be helping sinister America and Britain which are the creators of the ISIL and al-Qaeda,” the Leader further said in a meeting with people from different walks of life on Monday.

Ayatollah Khamenei urged Muslims not to get involved in any move that would play into enemies’ hands.

“Shias and Sunnis shouldn’t help the enemy by desecrating their sanctities and provoking one another’s sentiments,” the Leader underlined.

Ayatollah Khamenei added all enemy efforts, including their divisive plots, against Iran over the past thirty-five years have failed.

The enemies of Islam have always sought to drive a wedge between Shias and Sunnis in order to deflect their attention from the real enemy, the Leader underlined.

The Leader said Britian, in particular, is an old hand in triggering divisions among Muslims.

Ayatollah Khamenei underlined that the ISIL and al-Qaeda were, in fact, created to confront Iran and the wave of Islamic awakening in the Middle East and Africa, adding the militant groups have now turned against their creators.


Good to see at least someone remembers that Perfidious Albion has a record of dividing and conquering going back centuries.

Islamic State Boasts Of 'Revival Of Slavery'
IS argues it has restored an aspect of Sharia to its original meaning by enslaving those it claims hold deviant religious beliefs.

The Islamic State has boasted of giving Yazidi women and children captured in northern Iraq to its fighters as spoils of war in the latest issue of its propoganda magazine Dabiq.

In it the terror group admits for the first time that it sells captured Yazidis as slaves.

Leaders of the minority group, many of whom have fled their homes in northern Iraq due to the four-month-old insurgency, warned in August the community faced genocide.

The treatment of the Yazidis, who number in the tens of thousands, has sparked outrage across the globe.

Many were trapped on a mountain near the town of Sinjar in August. Others were massacred and the fate of hundreds of missing women and children had been a mystery.

But in an article in Dabiq called "The revival of slavery before the hour', IS argues it has restored an aspect of Sharia (Islamic law) to its original meaning by enslaving people it claims hold deviant religious beliefs.

The Yazidi faith is a unique blend of beliefs that draws from several religions and includes the worship of a devil figure they refer to as the Peacock Angel.

The article said: "After capture, the Yazidi women and children were then divided according to the Sharia amongst the fighters of the Islamic State who participated in the Sinjar operations.

"This large-scale enslavement of mushrik (polytheist) families is probably the first since the abandonment of this Sharia law."

Dabiq said that, while "people of the book", such as Christians or Jews, could pay a tax or convert, the Yazidis could not do this.

Several Yazidi women and girls who have escaped captivity have claimed that they were sold to Islamic State fighters in Iraq and Syria.

Human Rights Watch recently produced a report including the testimony of a woman who said she saw IS fighters buying girls.

As they don't seem to be doing any 'enslaving' of men, just women and girls, I would suggest they're nothing but a bunch of dirty old- or young - men that can't get female company any other way.

Just the usual scumbags, in fact, hiding behind religion to behave like pigs.

They're not one bit better than the Rotherham gangs that corrupted and pimped out girls.

Saudi Shia cleric Nimr al-Nimr 'sentenced to death'

When Sheikh Nimr, who holds the rank of ayatollah, went on trial in March 2013 prosecutors called for his execution by "crucifixion", a punishment which in Saudi Arabia involves beheading followed by public display of the decapitated body.

But how can this be? Are not the Saudis Our Gallant Allies? Oh wait, I know. Headchopping and similar barbarities are OK when it's our allies, that happen to produce a lot of oil, are doing it.

IS Claims Video Shows Intercepted US Arms Drops
Footage allegedly shows fighters opening boxes of weapons intended for Kurdish forces, as they wait for reinforcements.

The Islamic State has released footage purporting to show weapons from a US airdrop to Kurdish forces that have been intercepted by the militants.

The footage was allegedly shot in Kobani, the northern Syrian city that is being defended against a sustained IS offensive by Kurdish fighters.

It shows IS fighters opening boxes seemingly containing grenades and other weapons.

Sky News could not verify the video's authenticity.

The US military on Sunday began airdropping weapons, ammunition and medical supplies to Kurdish forces defending Kobani against Islamic State militants.

The airdrops were the first of their kind and followed weeks of US and coalition airstrikes in and near Kobani, near the Turkish border.

Sky News Defence Correspondent Alistair Bunkall said: "That is not supposed to happen at all, but it is a danger - it has always been a danger - when the West has tried to arm moderate Syrian opposition in the country."
"One way or the other it (the aid) tends to end up in the wrong hands - either directly like this, because you drop it in the wrong place, or because it is sold on the black market."

Well, dropping weapons directly into ISIS' waiting arms does cut out the middleman....
