Re: US bombs Syria, kills civilians and children
Ah, I saw he'd done something discourteous, yet again. I hadn't seen exactly what.
Can't even put down his plastic cup of coffee. It goes with the territory, though, the selfies at Mandela's memorial, the gum-chewing at the D-Day ceremonies.
He should read up on history, see what happened to Caligula and others.

http://www.infowars.com/us-aggression-drags-world-into-age-of-global-anarchy/
For the very sponsors of ISIS to pose as a unilateral global force that can invade a nation’s sovereignty at will, bomb and kill militants, government troops, and civilians alike with utter impunity, in a quest to undo terrorists organizations of their own creation, is the work of a true “Axis of Evil.” That the West continues to condemn the Syrian government as a “brutal dictatorship” for fighting terrorists and killing civilians in the process, all while it now “fights terrorists” and is killing Syrian civilians in the process – plumbs new depths in utter, unhinged hypocrisy.
Quite.
Beheading non-believers in public squares, oppressing women, homosexuals, and other minority groups, and peddling a backwards perversion of Islam all sound like the hallmarks of the so-called “Islamic State” or ISIS as it is also known as. But in fact, they are also the hallmarks of America’s premier ally in the current alleged fight against ISIS’ global spanning terror operation – Saudi Arabia. In fact, Saudi Arabia was the chief intermediary between extremist groups across the Middle East and Washington in a nearly decade long conspiracy to violently overthrow the governments of Lebanon, Syria, and Iran with a regional mercenary army.
Notice it's all secular regimes the US has attacked? And Iran is supposedly Evil, but is, in fact, a democracy, with Jewish and Christian MPs. Some of its domestic policies may be a bit unfortunate, but it isn't Iran that's beheading 'sorcerers' in public.
No, it's US ally Saudi Arabia that is leading the field in the headchopping department.

Terrorist-creation for dummies:

Quote:
As we’ve reported for years, U.S. foreign policy is creating many more terrorists than it’s killing.
The U.S. Has Radicalized the Middle East
Wittingly or unwittingly, the U.S. has radicalized the Middle East.
The U.S. carried out regime change in Iran in 1953 … which led to radicalization in the country. Specifically, the CIA admits that the U.S. overthrew the moderate, suit-and-tie-wearing, Democratically-elected prime minister of Iran in 1953. (He was overthrown because he had nationalized Iran’s oil, which had previously been controlled by BP and other Western oil companies). As part of that action, the CIAadmits that it hired Iranians to pose as Communists and stage bombings in Iran in order to turn the country against its prime minister. If the U.S. hadn’t overthrown the moderate Iranian government, the fundamentalist Mullahs would have never taken over. Iran has been known for thousands of years fortolerating Christians and other religious minorities.
America has long supported the fundamentalist Islamic radicals in Saudi Arabia, and funded their radical madrassa schools. At the same time, we have attacked moderate Arabs … leading to a proliferation of the crazies.

AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!
He's just said, Bigger nations should not be able to bully smaller ones.
How many dead Iraqis is it now? A million? More? Dead Libyans, dead Syrians, dead wedding parties, dead eastern Ukrainians, dead children in Yemen, Afghanistan - blood and destruction all over the world. But no bullying.
Who the HELL does he think he's kidding? He was even BULLYING Scotland a couple of weeks ago.

His prepared speech has been released already:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/full-text-of-president-obamas-2014-address-to-the-united-nations-general-assembly/2014/09/24/88889e46-43f4-11e4-b437-1a7368204804_story.html
He's sticking it to the letter, useless creature that he is.
America is and will continue to be a Pacific power, promoting peace, stability, and the free flow of commerce among nations.
I don't think the unfortunate citizens of the nations he has set on fire would agree with him. This bears as much relation to reality as one of Goebell's rants.

Re: US bombs Syria, kills civilians and children
Lord, he's a slow speaker! It all ends:
The people of the world look to us, here, to be as decent, as dignified, and as courageous as they are in their daily lives. And at this crossroads, I can promise you that the United States of America will not be distracted or deterred from what must be done. We are heirs to a proud legacy of freedom, and we are prepared to do what is necessary to secure that legacy for generations to come. Join us in this common mission, for today’s children and tomorrow’s.
But he's not there yet....
He's managed to offend me, and I am not American, muslim, Russian, or anything else. I should think EVERYONE is going to rip this nonsense to shreds.

IS Beheads French Hostage In Video - Reports
Herve Gourdel is reportedly killed after the splinter group issued a warning to France over airstrikes in Iraq.
A video has been released that shows a French hostage being beheaded by a group linked to Islamic State, it is being reported.
Herve Gourdel, a 55-year-old hiker from the southern French city of Nice, was kidnapped on Sunday by Jund al Khilafah.
The group had given France a 24-hour deadline to stop its airstrikes against IS in Iraq.
In the clip issued by the Algerian militants, the tourist was seen kneeling with his arms bound behind his back, as four masked men read a message in Arabic which condemned France.
Mr Gourdel was then pushed on to his side and held down.
Shortly after the group - known as the Caliphate Soldiers in English - released the video, France's foreign minister Laurent Fabius insisted the abduction would not deter his nation's participation in a US-led offensive against IS.
The video was entitled "A Message With Blood To The French Government", and began to circulate on jihadist websites on Wednesday.
It began with an excerpt of Francois Hollande, France's president, making a speech, before showing Mr Gourdel in his final moments of life.
Before news of the mountaineer guide's execution emerged, Mr Hollande had insisted: "As grave as this situation is, we will not give in to any blackmail, any pressure, any ultimatum, no matter how odious, how despicable."
In a statement before news of the killing emerged, Mr Gourdel's family said they had learned of the kidnapping "with great pain", and described him as a "father, partner, son, brother and very dear friend".
Intelligence sources believe there could be 10 Western hostages still being held by Islamic State.
One Briton, David Haines, as well as Americans James Foley and Steven Sotloff, have lost their lives at the hands of the group in recent weeks.
Islamic State has recently threatened to kill Alan Henning, a British aid convoy volunteer.
Poor man. If there's one cause it ISN'T worth dying for, it's the egos of our leaders.

I think that's what really gets me, Lily. The ones shouting loudest for WAR! never move out of their safe offices, or their cosy TV studios. It's always some other poor sod that gets killed, whether it's a hostage, a child who is 'collateral damage' or some young soldier who has been tricked into believing her or she is serving his country, even though they're thousands of miles from their own shores.
I don't care if the head-choppers are killed, but as often as not, they are missed and innocents hit, and every time that happens, new jihadists are created.

To help win over hearts and minds in Saudi Arabia newspapers there printed the pictures of the Saudi pilots with captions that explained that Isis 'damages the image of Islam and make it appear as a deformed religion based on killings and beheadings', the Financial Times reported.

Russia tops ISIS threat, Ebola worst of all? Lavrov puzzled by Obama’s UN speech

Edited time: September 25, 2014 04:44 Get short URL
Following the US President’s speech at the UN, Russian FM Sergey Lavrov was puzzled with Barack Obama’s ranking of international threats: deadly Ebola virus top, followed by so-called Russian aggression and ISIS in Syria and Iraq only third?
Gathered at the UN headquarters in New York, the world leaders attending the 69th General Assembly heard Barack Obama highlighting the three most significant global threats today.
“As we gather here, an outbreak of Ebola overwhelms public health systems in West Africa, and threatens to move rapidly across borders. Russian aggression in Europe recalls the days when large nations trampled small ones in pursuit of territorial ambition. The brutality of terrorists in Syria and Iraq forces us to look into the heart of darkness,” the US leader said at the beginning of his statement.
Reacting to the speech, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke with astonishment.
“We earned the second place among the threats to international peace and stability,” Lavrov told journalists on the sidelines of the UN assembly.
Not only the ranking of international threats seemed bizarre to Lavrov, especially in the light of the current strikes in Iraq and Syria that bypassed the UN mandate, but also Obama’s certainty that the world has become “freer and safer.”
“I didn't understand whether he was serious or not and whether there was an Orwellian element in it. Because George Orwell invented the Ministry of Truth and it looks like this philosophy is lingering."
The Russian foreign minister assessed Obama’s words at the session as a “speech of a peacemaker – the way it was conceived” which he “failed to deliver if one compares it to real facts”.

The US President presented a US worldview stressing the exceptionality of himself and of his country, the Russian FM said:
“That's the worldview of a country that has spelt out its right to use force arbitrarily regardless of UN Security Council's resolutions or other international legal acts in its national defense doctrine.”
READ MORE: Lavrov: Iraq developments show total failure of American-British 'adventure'
Regarding the sanctions, Lavrov lashed out that it was only the problem of the US which imposed them. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian conflict is a domestic problem that should be solved without US interference, he added.
“Ukrainians met in Minsk several times and signed two documents there. OSCE and Russian officials helped to foster this dialogue. It's all written in the protocol and the memorandum and they must be implemented,” he said. “This is what the Ukrainians themselves have agreed to, and it would be incorrect to dictate any of the implementation parameters to them.”
Moscow seeks to settle conflicts through equal dialogue and not through unilateral accusations, not by “shifting the blame,” Lavrov said adding that he will definitely point this out to US Secretary John Kerry in a meeting between the two later in the day.
The rest of the world seems to share Lavrov's puzzlement. Even the Fox lot, who never see a war they don't approve of, are going, WTF? Did he really just say that?
And it's going down badly with the US that Obama dragged the Ferguson riots into the UN security council.

Re: US bombs Syria, kills civilians and children
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-09-25/khorasans-fake-kardashians
Obama is now - after the fact - scrambling to justify bombing the sovereign nation of Syria without the permission of either the Syrian government or even the United States Congress by saying that we were going after the super-evil Khorasans, who were about to attack us.
My God! That sounds terrifying ... like a cross between Genghis Khan, Klingons and the Kardashians!
The U.S. is saying that they're even more dangerous than ISIS.
There's just one wee little problem ... the Khorasan threat is as as fake as the Kardashians' physiques. (Admittedly, it's confusing, given that the Kardashians have also inserted themselves right in the middle of the Syrian conflict.)
More at link.
Personally, I think Khorasan sounds like a mouthwash....

It's astounding, isn't it? Now, I personally couldn't give a flying one if every single one of these fanatics was dispatched to an early meeting with Allah, but bombing is going to make things worse, not better, kill civilians and create even more jihadists.
It would have helped enormously if the US and allies hadn't poured arms and training into the 'nice rebels' to begin with; if there had been an outcry from the West when they were slaughtering Christians in Syria. Hypocrites.

JERUSALEM – Syrian rebels who would later join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.
The officials said dozens of future ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.
The Jordanian officials said all ISIS members who received U.S. training to fight in Syria were first vetted for any links to extremist groups like al-Qaida.

The 'vetting' went well, didn't it?
