Four Killed In Jerusalem Synagogue Attack
Israel's Prime Minister has blamed the attack on Hamas and the Palestinian leadership and vowed to "respond with a heavy hand".
Two Palestinian men armed with axes, knives and guns have killed at least four worshippers at a synagogue in Jerusalem.
The incident happened at around 7am local time at Kehilot Yaakov synagogue in the ultra-Orthodox Har Nof neighbourhood.
The assailants were shot dead by police at the scene.
They have been named as cousins Ghassan and Oday Abu Jamil from the Jabal Mukaber area of east Jerusalem.
Six people were wounded in the attack, including two police officers. Four were said to be in a serious condition.
Police say they are regarding it as a terrorist act.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed the attack on both Hamas and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Referring to Mr Abbas by his alternative name, he said: "This is a direct result of incitement led by Hamas and Abu Mazen, incitement that the international community has been irresponsibly ignoring.
"We will respond with a heavy hand to the brutal murder of Jews who came to pray and were killed by lowly murderers."
US Secretary of State John Kerry described the attack as "an act of pure terror and senseless brutality" and called on the Palestinian leadership to condemn it "in the most powerful terms".
In a statement Mr Abbas said: "The Palestinian presidency has always condemned the killing of civilians on either side, and condemns today the killing of worshippers at a synagogue."
The attack is the worst in Jerusalem since 2008, when a Palestinian gunman shot dead eight people in a religious seminary school.
TV footage from the scene showed the synagogue surrounded by police, medics tending to the wounded and a bloodied butcher's knife on the ground nearby.

And the never-ending spiral of killings and revenge just goes goes on and on.

Re: Four Killed In Jerusalem Synagogue Attack
This seems to have been sparked by Israel demolishing more Palestinian houses and grabbing more land, and by West Bank settlers lynching a Palestinian bus driver.
So now, to avenge the dead at the synagogue, the Israelis will attack more Palestinians, and on and on it will go forever. No-one will ever gain or achieve anything, except a pile of corpses.

Re: Four Killed In Jerusalem Synagogue Attack
http://news.sky.com/story/1375842/jerusalem-attackers-father-blames-mosque-row
The father of one of the Palestinian cousins shot dead after killing four Jewish worshippers at a synagogue has said the attack stemmed from his anger over the al Aqsa mosque.
Abed Abu Jamal, who will be forced to leave his home after Israeli Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu ordered it to be demolished following the attack, described his son as a "normal boy" and said the cousins had jobs as a cleaner and a grocer in the Har Nof neighbourhood where the attack took place.
He told Sky News: "Everybody sees that they are preventing people from praying in the mosque, including women. When the youth see this, they react.
"I hope God has mercy on my son's soul, that's all I can say."
Now, what good is that going to do, besides guarantee another revenge attack? That's the sort of collective punishment the Nazis favoured, and one of the reasons Israel loses sympathy from the rest of the world.

I assume that's the Israelis; it's very hard to tell who's who nowadays.
