I would not be at all surprised if their stupid twitter account was on Windows 98, with free AVG security, Lily, it's what was posted that should be the concern.

There was one pic that appeared to have been taken with a cameraphone, inside some kind of military facility - lots of people in Army uniforms were walking around and at desks.

There were also long lists of names and addresses - whose, I do not know.

There's always the possibility it was an inside job to convince Americans that it's OK for NSA to spy on them even more, but I don't think it was in this case. More like, how else can we embarrass the US, after the no-show by their cowardy custard President and his chums?

That's all I can say......

Thing is, Lily, if you weren't actually online, and didn't see what had been posted before the twitter feed was shut down, you would be somewhat in the dark about what had been posted.

A non-internet person might think it consisted of, Curse you, infidels, Obama has big ears or some such rubbish. It wasn't, it was far more serious than a stupid hashtag getting hacked.

Another tweet, linking to what appeared to be a roster of US military personnel, contained a phone number listed as belonging to Gen. Keith Alexander, the former chief of both CENTCOM and the National Security Agency. When dialed, RT reached the office of Admiral Mike Rogers, Alexander's replacement, and was referred to CENTCOM's public affairs office where the call then went unanswered.

A photo of the Queen in a headscarf - noting that she is foced to wear the ijab due to sharia law enforcement in the UK.

And news that Muslims are controlling the weather in theUK - "in some places its Sunni, but mainly it's Shi'ite"

It would never have crossed my mind to turn it upside down. But you have to admit that it's, erm, clever?

free speech is no reason to murder, but, the newspaper should also known that they are not dealing with reasonable people.

France is secular, and proud of it, Pedro. The magazine is NOT preaching race hatred, it is laughing at a belief system, which is perfectly legal.

How would any of us like it if, say, communists or fascists demanded greater rights than the rest of us, and slaughtered people if anyone laughed at them?

Simple - we wouldn't. That magazine is rude about everyone, not just about 'Allah'; it doesn't discriminate in who or what it insults. It's not a magazine I would rush out and buy, partly because that kind of French humour doesn't translate well into English.

If people wish to live in theocracies, well, I am sure Saudi Arabia - currently holding the world record for State beheadings - would welcome them. They might find Iran and other emerging Islamic nations a bit too liberal for their taste these days.

Interesting discussion with a friend, who is a devout Muslim.

I gather that accounding to the Koran, the prohibition on images of The Prophet apply only to Muslims - and similar to the commanment not to make graven images - it is to discourage idolatory and to keep the religion pure.

Thanks, Jean Pierre, that's interesting. I have no desire to make graven images of anyone. Except maybe the Harlow Hounder on occasion, and that rather involves a lot of pins.

That is rather similar to Jews. Mind you, they do share a lot of things from their early practices.
