A German minister has warned that his country is reaching its limit as thousands of refugees continue streaming across its border every day.

His words come as the German government is reported to be considering temporarily bringing back border controls to cope with the numbers, a move that would breach the EU's open borders Schengen agreement, according to newspaper Bild.

There has been no comment from the German government on the report but it is understood this move would affect the country's border with Austria first......more at link.

Why not just dismantle the whole EU experiment and be done with? Between this and Greece, it is now FUBAR thanks to Merkel.

I'm not surprised it isn't.  This was a huge disaster waiting to happen all along.

A German minister has claimed the country is reaching the limit of refugees it can take, as train services from Austria were halted in an attempt to slow the influx.

Services were stopped as the government reportedly considered bringing back border controls for those crossing into Bavaria, a move which would breach the EU's open borders Schengen agreement

So, what are the 'migrants' going to do when the gates to their Promised Land are slammed shut? Besides riot?

I pity the people trying to go about their lawful business in the middle of this Merkel-approved anarchy.

Germany has reintroduced border controls along its border with Austria in a move that represents a part suspension of one of the founding principles of modern Europe: free movement of people.

Controls are to be introduced on the road crossings and Germany has stopped train traffic from Austria in an attempt to slow the influx, which has seen 13,000 people arrive in the country on Saturday alone, and another 3,000 on Sunday morning.

The move illustrates the strain Germany, which has said it expects 800,000 asylum seekers to reach the country this year, is under as it continues its policy of welcoming migrants.

City authorities in Munich have said they are "at the limit" in terms of the numbers they can house, while Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel has warned a "lack of action" across Europe is "now pushing even Germany to the limit of its ability".

Reacting to the move, EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said it showed the need to agree proposals at a meeting on Monday....etc.

Whoever could have seen that coming?   We do know of some though.  

I know, it's only a few days since she was being hailed as 'Mama Merkel' and moonbats were crying over her, and how kind and sensitive Germans were in comparison to us horrid Brits.

Germany will no longer allow refugees to pick which European countries should host them, Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said in the press conference earlier, essentially reversing a measure that has sent record numbers of asylum-seekers into the country.
The asylum-seekers must understand that "they cannot chose the states where they are seeking protection," he told reporters. Under EU rules, the first country of entry is required to deal with the asylum-seeker's request for protection. But Germany had earlier in practice waived the rule for Syrian refugees.

That isn't going to go down well with the country-shoppers, either.

How dare anyone tell them where they can or cannot go!

There's something else Merkel overlooked when she started this madness - temperatures are starting to drop already, and it's not going to be long before really bad weather starts.

How's she proposing to get all these people under cover before then?

Do you think she expected such a vast number of people arriving?  Did she imagine lots of countries would open up to them?

Lily, I have absolutely NO idea what goes on in Merkel's head these days.

I used to think she was fairly steady and sane, but this year, she's made one catastrophic mess after another, without the slightest thought for the consequences for Germany or anyone else.

It's a right proper pig's breakfast.  I shudder to think how it will end.

The Prime Minister has visited a refugee camp on the border with Syria to see the impact of the humanitarian crisis "at source".

David Cameron visited a UN operated camp in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, home to 500 people in 90 tents including many children.

He met a vulnerable family due to be resettled to the UK as part of a commitment by the Government last week to take 20,000 Syrian refugees by 2020....etc.

Controls have been brought in on road crossings - and over the weekend, Germany had stopped train traffic from Austria in an attempt to slow the influx, which saw 13,000 people arrive in the country on Saturday, followed by 3,000 on Sunday morning.

However, the train lines between Austria and Germany reopened on Monday morning - with the exception of one route to Munich. That particular line, which has been used by tens of thousands of migrants, remains closed because of trespassers....etc.

So much for Merkel and her 'welcomeculture' - now they're tresspassers.
