Re: Hungary is new hot spot on migrant route into EU - Part 1
I've got to the state where I don't believe anything unless I have personally seen it happen or the people I trust tell me; I have a good source of information here and I trust him implicitly. I post up what I find but don't comment often as I am not there in person and I am a cynical, skeptical fella. LL

Licences of police extended to soldiers at border
By Hungary Matters
Powers similar to those of the police force have been granted to soldiers on duty in areas where the government has declared a state of migration crisis. Under a law passed on Monday, soldiers will have the authority to detain people, search clothing, baggage or cars, perform traffic checks or apply coercion if necessary. Soldiers will also be in a position to close an area down, and ban people from entry or prevent them from leaving. Soldiers at the border zone can apply coercion if an attack cannot be otherwise prevented, but it must not be aimed against human life. Similarly to the police, using rubber bullets, sound and flash grenades, tear gas grenades or net guns will not count as use of arms.
The governing parties, which proposed the legislation, said that the migration crisis necessitates a closer cooperation between agencies protecting the borders, as well as the involvement of the military. The proponents, however, said that though the military’s new tasks are closely linked to police activities, they cannot lead to the military’s taking over police functions. Under the new law, managing a state of crisis is up to the police, with assistance from the military.

Re: Hungary is new hot spot on migrant route into EU - Part 1
The Spanish football team that has rushed to virtue signal looks rather foolish now, doesn't it, Max? Almost as foolish as those who wept hypocritical tears over that poor dead child, until the truth about the circumstances of his death came out and it was clear it was his horrible father's fault entirely.

Re: Hungary is new hot spot on migrant route into EU - Part 1
Reading those links, LL - how on earth do Merkel and co imagine they are going to enforce this insanity? Sending people that don't want to go to places that don't want them?
This is, IMO, the death of the EU.
http://news.sky.com/story/1557270/cameron-send-economic-migrants-back-home
Prime Minister David Cameron has called on European leaders to deport more economic migrants who don't have a genuine claim to asylum.
The call came during a meeting at Chequers with French president Francois Hollande.
The Prime Minister is joining other European leaders at an emergency summit in Brussels later today.
The problem with that is that the 'migrants' will then engage ambulance-chasing human rights lawyers, who will run up enormous legal bills at OUR expense, the bleeding hearts will shove their noses in and and every single deportation will take years.
Unless, of course, the military are called in and the 'migrants' are plain and simply removed from the country.
This is, IMO, the death of the EU.

Parliament passes gov’t resolution to call on EU leaders “to protect the continent”
By Hungary Matters
Hungary’s Parliament has passed a government resolution calling on EU leaders to “protect the continent and its citizens against the consequences of the migration crisis”. Parliament also green-lighted further measures enabling protection of the county’s borders. “The waves of illegal migration threaten an explosion in the whole of Europe,” said the resolution. The government blames the EU for allowing the situation to escalate. “People are now dying in the wake of Brussels’ irresponsible policies,” the document said. “All European politicians are irresponsible if they encourage migrants to leave all they have behind and risk their lives to get to Europe in the hope of better conditions,” it said.
The countries of Central Europe, which have just recovered from an economic crisis, “cannot afford to suffer the damage wrought by Brussels’ ill-advised policies”, it said. Hungary cannot allow “illegal migrants to jeopardise employment and Hungarians’ social security”, the resolution added. “We have the right to protect our culture, language and values,” it said, adding that the government is committed to further developing the economy “without the unbearable burden of illegal migrants arriving in Hungary”.

Re: Hungary is new hot spot on migrant route into EU - Part 1
I can't fault a word of that, LL. The other European politicians seem to have lost their marbles - and I suspect that, in the fullness of time, 'Merkel' is going to be regarded much as her moustached predecessor is.
ANY politician that encourages this mass immigration by God knows who is plain and simply betraying their own people and failing in the most basic duties of care to their own public.
This may be a straw in the wind:
http://news.sky.com/story/1557270/eu-migrant-quota-plan-faces-legal-challenge
Slovakia says it will go to court to challenge quotas for relocating 120,000 asylum seekers approved by European Union ministers.
It comes as David Cameron and ptjerEU leaders prepare to meet in Brussels for emergency talks about the migration crisis.
At the summit Mr Cameron will urge his counterparts to deport economic migrants who do not have a genuine claim to asylum.
EU's interior ministers on Tuesday voted by a majority in favour of the quota system, which will see migrants in Italy, Greece and Hungary redistributed to other member states.
But Slovakian prime minister Robert Fico says his country - which was one of four nations that voted against the plan - will be challenging the deal in EU courts.
"We will go in two directions: first one, we will file a charge at the court in Luxembourg... secondly, we will not implement the (decision) of the interior ministers," Mr Fico said.
"We have been refusing this nonsense from the beginning, and as a sovereign country we have the right to sue."
And Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban said the migrant crisis should be dealt with within existing laws. He also said his country should "reconsider its relationship with Russia".
I don't know why Merkel and co are ignoring all the flashing red lights - they are heading for disaster. Or rather, they are inflicting disaster on us plebs, elites always protect themselves.

A handy map:
I am sure Russia will do a thorough job, especially on the black bits. And then all the 'Syrian refugees' can go home again - though the ones that are actually jihadists may be none too keen.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/sep/23/militant-group-publishes-hit-list-of-bloggers-activists-and-writers
An Islamic militant group in Bangladesh has issued a hitlist of secular bloggers, writers and activists around the world, saying they will be killed if its demands are not met.
The list will raise fears that Islamic militant violence within the unstable south Asian country could take on an international dimension.
The targets in the list include nine bloggers based in the UK, seven in Germany, two in the US, one in Canada and one in Sweden. Some are Bangladeshi citizens living overseas. Others are dual nationals or citizens of the western nations.
The list was issued in a statement on the internet by the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), a group that has been blamed for a series of murders of bloggers and activists in Bangladesh over the last 18 months. All those killed have been prominent critics of extremist religious doctrines, especially in Islam.
The acting leader of the ABT and two close associates were arrested earlier this month in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, for their involvement in the murder of a secular blogger earlier this year.
Individuals on the new list have told the Guardian they intend to keep writing and blogging.
“Our weapon is [the] pen, and we can use it without hurting anybody. We just want to make people conscious about their rights. So that nobody can use them to fulfill bad intentions,” said Ananya Azad, a Bangladeshi blogger who has been forced into exile in Europe and is on the list.
There has been no previous indication that the ABT was targeting bloggers overseas and the list will worry security authorities in Europe and the US.
British-based bloggers of Bangladeshi origin named on the list have approached police in London and elsewhere following its publication. They say authorities have have advised them to take precautions to minimise the risk of attack.

It is unclear if the ABT has the capability to carry out their threats, but its call for action may prompt individuals to mount “lone wolf” attacks.......more on the delights that accompany multi-kulti at link.

NHS reports 1,026 new cases of female genital mutilation in three months
Health and Social Care Information Centre figures show extent of illegal practice in UK, with 75% of FGM cases self-reported.
More than 1,000 women and girls have been treated by the NHS in England for female genital mutilation in three months this year, according to figures that reveal the extent of the practice in the UK.
Between April and June, there were 1,026 newly recorded cases of FGM in England, latest figures from the Health and Social Care Information Centre show. Among the cases, there were nine girls under the age of 18.
Since the HSCIC started to record FGM data in September 2014, there have been 4,989 cases reported nationally. In the most recent tranche of data, 60 NHS trusts out of a total of 160 submitted data for one or more FGM attendances.
There is likely to be a spike in the number in the next recording period after recording FGM attendance became mandatory for acute trusts on 1 June 2015, and becomes mandatory for GP practices and mental health trusts from 1 October. Only one GP provided data for April to June.....more stomach-churning information at link.

He said he did not believe it would be possible to implement a quota system at present.

Well, I don't think a great deal of Dave, but at least he too is keeping them out....
I am genuinely terrified by the way so many European politicians are out of touch with the simmering rage building up in every country affected; sooner or later, there is going to be a spark which sets off bloodshed, IMO.

Re: Hungary is new hot spot on migrant route into EU - Part 1
Hungary's prime minister says a fence being built on the border with Croatia to stop migrants will be finished during the weekend.
Viktor Orban said Wednesday as he arrived in Brussels for a meeting of European Union national leaders that the fence would allow Hungary to enforce EU rules at the Croatian border about entering and traveling in the visa-free Schengen zone. Thousands of migrants a day have been entering from Croatia since Hungary finished a 4-meter (13-feet) -high fence along its border with Serbia last week.
Orban said that if EU leaders did not support enforcing Schengen rules, then Hungary "will set up a corridor through which the refugees or migrants can go to Austria or Germany."
Nearly 240,000 migrants have come to Hungary this year, 35,000 of whom crossed over from Croatia recently, including 4,500 between midnight and 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Croatia is taking migrants to the border with Hungary, which then takes them by train and bus to the Austrian border, from where they continue their journey west.
Hungarian immigration officials said that since Friday not a single migrant entering from Croatia had requested asylum in Hungary.

Amid migrant mobilization, signs Turkey is hardening rules
ISTANBUL (AP) — As refugees try to use a land route from Turkey as an alternate way into the European Union, Ankara has begun enforcing long-dormant rules on Syrians' travel, in part over concerns about how the flow is affecting the country's image, according to a government document obtained by The Associated Press and interviews with officials and migrants. So far the moves appear ad hoc and aimed only at preventing refugees from reaching the Turkish frontier city of Edirne, where hundreds are staging a sit-in near the Greek border. But one academic said it was a sign of a more-determined effort by Turkey to get a handle on the country's massive refugee population.
As soon as they leave the safety of Turkey, they are NOT refugees, they are benefits shoppers.
