http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/jeremy-corbyn-faces-backlash-after-political-adviser-andrew-fisher-describes-ed-milibands-cabinet-as-a6701911.html
Jeremy Corbyn is facing a backlash from Labour MPs after it emerged that the man he appointed as his political adviser described Ed Milband’s shadow cabinet as “the most abject collection of absolute shite”.
Andrew Fisher, a former RMT activist, also referred to Tony Blair and Alastair Campbell as “scumbags”, called Jack Straw a “vile git” and accused Yvette Cooper of pushing “racist” policies when she was shadow Home Secretary. Mr Fisher, a prominent figure on the left who was one of Mr Corbyn’s first appointments, is also facing accusations of party disloyalty for backing an anarchist candidate against Labour at the election and taking to Twitter to celebrate the downfall of the shadow Chancellor, Ed Balls.
Don't hold back, now.

'I'm sorry for the distress': Tom Watson apologises to Leon Brittan's widow after top cop brands rape slurs 'a baseless witch hunt'
Labour MP Tom Watson today apologised for the 'distress' caused to Leon Brittan's family by referring to him as 'evil' after he died in January
But deputy leader said he had a 'duty' to stand up for sex abuse victims
It came after a police detective said the case against Brittan was 'baseless'
DCI Settle ruled the case against the Brittan 'should not proceed' in 2013
But Lord Brittan was questioned after Tom Watson wrote to prosecutors

He's getting his 'apology' in before the Chilcot report is made public. I doubt he will ever be brought to account for what he and Bush did. LL

He replies: ‘I apologise for the fact that the intelligence we received was wrong.
‘I also apologise for some of the mistakes in planning and, certainly, our mistake in our understanding of what would happen once you removed the regime.’
Challenged that the Iraq War was ‘the principal cause’ of the rise of Islamic State, he said: ‘I think there are elements of truth in that.

With careful reading, it becomes clear that he hasn't actually apologised for taking the UK to war on a lie, he's trying to pass the blame onto other people.

http://news.sky.com/story/1576570/tax-credit-cuts-delayed-as-govt-defeated
Cuts to tax credits will be delayed after the Government was defeated twice in the House of Lords.
Ministers had warned that defeat would trigger a constitution crisis, yet the upper house voted for the changes to be delayed until a three-year package of transitional financial help for those affected has been agreed upon.
A second motion from Baroness Meacher - calling for the cuts to be delayed until independent analysis of their effects was carried out - was also supported.
She told Sky News: "I think it's a very powerful message that now goes to the Government."
But Tory MP Michael Ellis said: "We can't have a situation where the unelected peers overrule the elected House of Commons."
Tory MP Edward Leigh underlined the significance of the defeat, telling the Commons: "Not for 100 years has the House of Lords defied this elected House."..more at link.
Well, that's mucked everything up nicely......

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
Ah, but the Tories are normally all in favour of the Lords, stuffing the benches with Tory favourites, expecting the Lords to just rubber-stamp whatever legislation is put in front of them.....
The Lords aren't supposed to vote against the Tories - that isn't what they get £300 a day for. So we now have the bizarre situation where the Lords have rebelled and on the face of it, have protected the lowest-paid workers....
Very interesting indeed.

Re: Hopey-changey in the UK
David Cameron blasts 'alliance of the unelected and the unelectable' for blocking tax credit changes but refuses six times to say whether he'll cut the benefit
PM says that 'unelectable' Jeremy Corbyn propped up by 'unelected' peers
Labour leader used all six of his questions to major row over tax credits
Mr Corbyn chose to wear a red poppy not white poppy worn by pacifists
Lords rebellion means tax credit reforms will be pushed back beyond April
Mr Cameron is now off to Iceland to argue for staying in the EU

Scottish Labour conference video ‘misspells generation’
SCOTTISH Labour have issued a promotional video to tie in with the party’s 2015 conference - but misspelled one of the key messages in the clip.
‘Take a Fresh Look’, which was uploaded to YouTube this morning, is a series of quotes from Kezia Dugdale ‘setting out’ the party’s values, according to the video’s description.
owards the end of the clip, a quote from Ms Dugdale delivered during a visit to a Paisley nursery in August features.
The original quote is: “The test for everybody in Scottish politics is whether or not we secure a better future for the next generation.”
However, the video flashes up ‘for the next genertaion,” in an embarrassing gaffe for the party - especially given recent attacks by Ms Dugdale on the SNP’s education record.
Social media went to town on the error, with a number of references to The Who’s hit single ‘My Generation’ and the predictable independence referendum ‘once in a generation’ jokes.
