Seagull Dyed Orange After Falling Into Curry Vat
The bird, which has been nicknamed Gullfrazie, fell into a vat of chicken tikka masala while trying to scavenge a piece of meat.

A seagull was dyed bright orange after he plunged into a vat of chicken tikka masala at a food factory in Wales.

The bird fell in while trying to scavenge a piece of meat from a bin on Monday.

He was rescued by staff and picked up to be cleaned by a volunteer for Vale Wildlife Hospital near Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire.

Washing up liquid was used to remove the bright orange pigment from his feathers - but it failed to wash away the smell of curry.

Veterinary nurse Lucy Kells said: "We had never seen anything like it before.

"The thing that shocked us the most was the smell. He smelled amazing, he really smelled good."

The bird, which has since been nicknamed Gullfrazie on Facebook, will remain at the centre until he is well enough to be released.

"I think he has been put off spicy food but otherwise he seems to be doing really well," Mrs Kells added.

How bizarre! Not to mention raising rather a lot of questions about the hygiene of the curry factory......

They're very nimble - though maybe clogs aren't much different to shoes with huge platform soles to people who are used to wearing them?

The Dutch can do everything while wearing clogs!! These will be hand-made wooden ones. It wasn't so much the clogs that made me laugh, it was that doyen of Strauss music, Herr Andre Rieu enjoying himself dancing with the ladies!! I think the reason his concerts are so wonderful is his sense of humor comes through every time. Oh, I have a pair of leather full foot clogs, made in North Yorkshire, which I still wear especially when the paths here are muddy - so easy to de-mud. LL

No comparison. Crocs are from manmade materials, clogs are all natural, mainly wood or leather. I wear crocs, okay for wearing at the thermal pool, not for much else. I find my feet perspire too much when I wear them. LL

I don't wear them, LL, so can't really comment first-hand. I do see quite a few people clomping round in them, but I am not a big fan of plastic shoes. I can see they are useful at spas or stony beaches, but they aren't to my taste.
