The European Union's executive arm says it's very concerned about plans by Austria to set up border controls at a main crossing point to Italy over fears of a new migrant influx.
European Commission spokeswoman Natasha Bertaud said Tuesday that "if these plans should materialize, then we would have to look at them very seriously."
Austrian police said that crews were to begin pouring concrete on Tuesday for the foundations of a registration hall, barriers and other structures at the Brenner Pass crossing.
Bertaud said "the Brenner Pass is essential for the freedom of movement within the European Union."
The EU should have thought of all that before they let Merkel invite half of the Middle East into Europe.

It does seem as though this is nothing more than a botched up plan from the start?

http://www.breitbart.com/london/2016/04/12/soros-european-union-mortal-danger/
Billionaire financier George Soros has warned that the European Union is in mortal danger of collapse if it doesn’t agree a massive cash injection to fix the refugee crisis.
In an essay written for the New York Review of Books, Soros also claimed that a humanitarian catastrophe is unfolding in Greece.
“The asylum seekers are desperate. Legitimate refugees must be offered a reasonable chance to reach their destinations in Europe,” the investor wrote in the publication.
“EU leaders need to embrace the idea that effectively addressing the crisis will require “surge” funding, rather than scraping together insufficient funds year after year. Spending a large amount at the outset would allow the EU to respond more effectively to some of the most dangerous consequences of the refugee crisis.”

Since Soros is worried about what is happening, why doesn't he do something which would be so easy for him to do?
Why doesn't he fund everything between himself and his pals? That would be such a kind thing and would make them all feel good while at the same time telling the taxpayers of the world that it will never be at their feet. Bless him.

So, what else does anyone expect to happen, if Italy won't turn them back? Austria is perfectly entitled to protect Austrian borders and Austrian citizens.

Re: Hungary is new hot spot on migrant route into EU - Part 2
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/14/world/europe/migrant-crisis-idomeni-protests.html?_r=0
ATHENS — Clashes erupted at Greece’s northern border for the second time in three days on Wednesday, with the Macedonian police firing tear gas on scores of migrants as they protested border closings that have left more than 12,000 stranded in a makeshift refugee camp.
The protests in Idomeni, a town in Greece on the border with Macedonia, came as Greek authorities arrested 14 activists there, saying that they had incited the migrants to storm the razor-wire fence dividing the two countries.
The police accused the activists, from Britain, Germany and other European countries, of encouraging the migrants to protest by telling them that doing so would arouse sympathy among European governments and in that way help reopen borders and let them proceed on what was once the main migrant path to Germany, where most say they want to go....etc.
They misjudged that one then, as the only emotion stirred by pictures of the baby-hurling barbarians attacking the Macedonian police defending their own country was utter horror at the prospect of any more of them being allowed into Europe.
Indeed, most commentators thought that the only thing the Macedonian police did wrong was not to use live rounds on them.
Though doubtless Bono was all teary-eyed.

http://www.breitbart.com/london/2016/04/14/asylum-seekers-refuse-food-demand-cash/
Since they have access to the food at the cafeteria the migrants are paid around 144 euros less than migrants who have no access to the service. Many migrants see that as unfair and some wish to be able to send money back to relatives in their homelands to support them or to help fund bringing them to Germany.
Absolutely astounding arrogance and entitlement. These creatures are draining Europe dry, and laughing at the stupid politicians and moonbats while they do it.
Here's a thought - if they're desperate to see their vast, extended families again, then send them back to wherever they came from.

Pope: Refugee Crisis 'Greatest Human Catastrophe'
Reports suggest the Pope will take 10 refugees facing deportation to Turkey back to Italy with him in a hugely symbolic gesture.
Bet they're carefully-selected photogenic sad kiddiez, not a bunch of baby-throwing barbarians, or louts that imagine they're entitled to invade Europe.
The pope would be well advised to keep out of this. IMO.

It's distressing to see detained refugees begging & crying for the Pope to help them #Moria #Lesbos #PopeFrancis #refugeesGr #RefugeeCrisis
And why, pray tell, are moslems begging the head of the catholic church for anything? Shouldn't they be accepting their fate, as ruled by their moon god? They're supposed to submit to the will of Allah, not beg from Christians.
Unless the Pope's minders have managed to dig out a handful of photogenic Christians?

Pope Francis has taken 12 Syrian refugees, including six children, home to Rome with him after visiting migrants on the Greek island of Lesbos.
The hugely symbolic gesture will be seen as a damning indictment of European leaders' reaction to the migrant crisis on Europe's and the EU deal to deport migrants to Italy.
I doubt that very much. Pointless Papal virtue-signalling, more like. Why, if he really wanted to, the Pope could take THOUSANDS of moslem migrants back to the Vatican, behind those nice high walls built to keep rampaging moslem invaders out.

Oh, I do too, Lily. I don't get any feeling of greatness from him. With John Paul II, for example, he gave off an aura of strength, of being a man who could do great things.
This one is more like a rather irritating, bossy social worker. I gather from a few things I've read about him that he's a product of liberation theology, a rather peculiar, South American union between the Jesuits in particular, and marxism.
I freely confess, I will LMAO if he gets his throat cut by one of his new flock, when he finds out too late that they've been practising taqiyya, as good moslems.
But seriously, couldn't he find any Syrian Christians, who really ARE being oppressed and massacred, to rescue?

I'm sure he could find them Bonny but that would not be what the world's elite want on view?
They do, after all, have a narrative to present for which the world's western taxpayers are expected to dig deep for?

Thing is, the narrative they want doesn't seem to be working with the public any more, Lily. The rapes, assaults, terrorist attacks, etc., may have something to do with that.
The public are especially fed up of being lectured by protected elites. Like the Pope and Bono....

Terrifying moment massive migrant brawl explodes near Paris metro station as thugs hurl wooden pallets
16:55, 16 APR 2016 UPDATED 17:25, 16 APR 2016
BY JONATHAN SHARMAN
Disbelieving residents called police twice as the first fight, broken up some time after 9pm, was rekindled at about 11.30pm
Migrants hurled pieces of wooden pallets and other makeshift weapons in a mass brawl outside a Paris metro station that forced police to use tear gas.
Disbelieving residents called police twice as the first fight, broken up some time after 9pm, was rekindled at about 11.30pm on Thursday night, Le Parisien reported.
Men can be seen hurling pieces of wood, bags and other missiles. At times the fighting is at close quarters but groups of the men later splinter apart, before police move in and tear gas is seen filling the air.
Four people were taken to hospital after the battle finished, it was reported.
The spot, underneath a rail bridge at the elevated Stalingrad station, was until the end of last month the temporary home of nearly 1,000 migrants in a makeshift camp.
The camp of Afghan, Somali, Eritrean and Sudanese migrants was cleared on March 30 by police and immigration authorities, but many have returned.
One Afghan man told Vice News: "Even animals don't live like this.
Yet strangely, these 'migrants' seem to bring the customs of their homelands with them, wherever they go.
People seem to be forgetting that there were millions of GENUINE refugees in Europe only seventy years ago. None of them behaved like this, despite, or maybe because of, surviving Hell on earth far beyond anything this lot are supposed to have suffered.

I have a question.
The Pope was on Lesbos yesterday, as were many Orthodox priests.
Where were all the imams, scooping up their flock and taking them to comfort and safety in Saudi Arabia or the rich Gulf states?
Why is this Europe's problem in the first place?
