New Year's Eve, it has come to Cologne for numerous offenses. Several groups of young men were "completely disinhibited".
Revelers and travelers were massively molested and robbed partly.
Before the main train station and on the Cathedral Square 400 to 500 young men have uncontrolled fireworks ignited in the crowd.
Now the police is puzzled about a new level of aggressiveness.

Around 60 complaints have been made to the police in Cologne after a group of around 1,000 men attacked revellers in the city centre in a brutal and “completely unheard of” way, Wolfgang Albers, Chief of Police in the Rhineland city said at a press conference on Monday afternoon.

Around a third of the complaints were of sexual assault, regional paper Express reported.

“There was a very large number of sexual assaults there - and in a massive way. Women were grabbed and attacked,” said Albers, adding that in one case the alleged crime fitted the legal definition of rape.

“The crimes were committed by a group of people who from appearance were largely from the north African or Arab world,” the police chief added.

A group of around 500 men between the ages of 15 and 35 assembled at the central train station and in the area of the cathedral before throwing firecrackers into the masses of people celebrating the arrival of the new year.

This appears to have been a means of causing distraction, as during the disturbance groups of young men entered the crowd where they sexually assaulted women and pick-pocketed revellers.

Police then carried out a large-scale operation to clear the area of the miscreants, involving 143 local police officers and a further 70 federal officers. But due to the darkness and the sheer scale of people, Albers conceded that this operation was less than effective.

On Sunday police arrested five men at the central station who were accused of threatening and robbing female travellers. It is not yet clear whether these men are connected to the earlier crimes.

Cologne mayor Henriette Reker called for a crisis meeting to be held on Tuesday in the wake of the attacks, reports the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

“We can’t let it happen that an area beyond the law develops here,” she said.

Accusations of cover-up

As the extent of the crimes emerged on Monday, the story became the central theme of Twitter with #Köln and #aufschrei (outcry) both ranking in the top five hashtags.

Many people accused the national media of engaging in a cover-up due to the ethnic background of the criminals, with many pointing to the fact that it took days before the details of the story reached national attention.

One commentator wrote sarcastically that “it is fascinating that the event in Cologne on New Year made it through the media censorship.


Another person tweeted that “the public broadcasters aren’t reporting the events of Cologne… Says it all - educational mission and all that!”

Other Twitter users worried that the attacks would lead to a backlash against refugees, writing “it makes me sad that the refugees who really need protection will bear the brunt of the hatred because of Cologne. We need to be able to tell the difference.”

MP Steffan Bilger from Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union, meanwhile, claimed the events in Cologne were proof Germany needed to reduce its intake of refugees.

“It can’t go on like this,” he tweeted. “Urgently needed: reduction of influx, secure borders, intensifying of deportations and meaningful justice.”


Writing for the Huffington Post Deutschland, Anabel Schunke accused the police of covering up details about the suspected criminals in order to protect public order.

Questioning why no details were given on the appearance of the suspects when police called for witnesses, despite plentiful CCTV footage, Schunke suggested that police chose to leave important details out so that the public would not make a connection between the crime and refugees.

In its details, the case is reminiscent of the mass sexual assaults which took place in north Africa during the huge Arab Spring protests of 2011-133, Schunke points out, writing of her concern that so many people are moving to Germany from “patriarchal, Muslim societies.”

Germany shocked with wave of sexual assaults

Police are working to identify the suspects.

The German government condemned on Tuesday the various sexual attacks apparently coordinated against women that occurred in the New Year in Cologne, in western Germany, and which have been allegedly committed by men of Arab origin.

The German executive has warned of the dangers of anti-migrant sentiments and creating scapegoats.

The German Minister of Justice, Heiko Maas, called for a thorough investigation into these attacks which have been allegedly committed by a large group of revelers during the end of year festivities in the main train station in Cologne. Among the many attacks, there is a report of at least one case of rape.

Asked by journalists if the attackers could be refugees, Heiko Maas said police were still working to identify the suspects.

Police in Cologne said it had received 90 complaints-crimes, saying that several witnesses reported that groups 20-30 young adults "who seemed to be of Arab origin" surrounded and attacked the victims. Witnesses also described some thefts.

Cologne sex attacks: Merkel disgust at New Year gang assaults



German women thanking Ma Merkel for putting every single woman in Germany in harm's way.

A policeman told the city's Express news website that he had detained eight suspects. "They were all asylum seekers, carrying copies of their residence certificates," he said.
However, there was no official confirmation that asylum seekers had been involved in the violence. Germany' migrant influx triggered marches by the anti-Islam Pegida movement last year.

The crisis management team said prevention measures should include a code of conduct for young women and girls, and Mayor Reker said the existing code of conduct will be updated online.

The suggested code of conduct includes maintaining an arm’s length distance from strangers, to stick within your own group, to ask bystanders for help or to intervene as a witness, or to inform the police if you are the victim of such an assault.

How about, European women can walk where they please - as was the case until these elite moonbats invited God knows who in? How long will it take for her to tell German women to cover themselves and go around like the walking binbags?

It galls me when naïve people compare today's migrants with the Hungarian refugees, the Vietnamese boat people, or with Jews who fled Nazi persecution in the 1930s or joined the post-war diaspora. Over the past two decades the world has changed, it has been poisoned by a violently anti-Western, lethal brand of Islam, and we can no longer assume that those who come to live among us will adopt our tolerant, pluralistic ways. There must be a rigorously applied quid pro quo when a refugee is allowed to stay: obligations in return for opportunities. Otherwise our Western societies will self-destruct.
My father had a Hungarian Jewish friend called Lajos in London back in the 1970s, a '56-er who had made a success of it in the shmutter trade. He was a jovial man who loved his adopted country but his English language skills remained pretty patchy. My father told me how, once when returning from a trip abroad, Lajos was questioned by an immigration officer at Heathrow, who found it hard to understand his thick Hungarian accent. In the end he asked: "What nationality are you?" Whereupon an indignant Lajos puffed out his chest and declared loudly and proudly: "British!"

Absolutely spot on! The Vietnamese refugees are very similar - they too wanted to be free, and thrive.
