Here's a prime example of hypocrisy. The Scottish government has been pouring taxpayers' money into Prestwick Air/Spaceport, but it's only used by RyanAir and Trump Force One.

So, the latest wheeze to get into the black is to go into business with the US military. All this at the same time as our very own idiot Sturgeon is a leading light in the manufactured Outrage!.

Prestwick Airport is to bid for more “military business” as new figures show its finances have slumped into the red. The latest accounts for the airport show passenger numbers have dropped to 624,000, generating a pre-tax loss of more than £9.2 million.

About £40m of public money will have been invested in the airport by year end, which means it will have exhausted its share of state funding five years early, watchdogs say.

Prestwick Airport leaders have now outlined a range of options aimed at reversing the loss. These include attracting more military business.

Airport accounts also reveal that Prestwick had increased military aircraft handling by one-third in the three years to 2016.

Now, I know that insulting one of the people who was keeping the airport open for business reasons, and who is now head of the US military, isn't exactly the best way to attract trade, money and jobs.

But these virtue-signalling half-wits seem to have lost touch with reality. Who needs jobs, etc., when you can block streets and shout and bawl because you lost an election?

He may on security grounds. A president has the power to shut down the refugee program completely without approval from Congress. Federal law allows the president to bar entry to any immigrant “or any class” of immigrants if he deems them “detrimental to the interests of the United States," and to "impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate," according to the law:

U.S. Code § 1182 - Inadmissible aliens: "Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."

I think I put this on the wrong thread.

To be honest, green card holders should not have been told they could not enter and others with similar documentation.  

This weekend saw one million passengers enter airports in the US so I think things might have got a bit upside down but even so, they did pretty well considering.  It will most likely proceed with very few problems soon.

In-depth analysis has shown a massive 91% correlation between those who signed the petition to ban Trump from the UK and those who demanded a second referendum.

Speaking at a conference with his Russian counterpart, the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates maintained that President Trump’s travel ban on several Muslim countries is not anti-religious or otherwise prejudiced against Muslims.
According to Emirati FM Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, President Donald Trump’s order to bar individuals from certain Muslim countries from the US is a “sovereign decision” that would be a mistake to interpret as anti-Muslim.

“Without doubt, countries have the sovereign right to make decisions to ensure their sovereignty. The US president used this sovereign right,” the UAE’s top diplomat said.

“There are attempts to claim that this decision is aimed against a religion, but it is not aimed against a specific religion, this is a temporary decision, it is important to take these points of view into account,” he continued.

“Some of these countries that were on this list are countries that face structural problems,” he noted, stressing “these countries should try to solve these issues... and these circumstances before trying to solve this issue with the United States”

The White House press pool was caught off guard this afternoon, when President Donald Trump made an unannounced trip to honor the returning remains of a U.S. Navy SEAL killed during a weekend raid on an al-Qaida base in Yemen, AP reports. Trump was to arrive Wednesday afternoon at Delaware's Dover Air Force Base.

Trump abruptly left the White House with his daughter, Ivanka, shortly before 3 p.m. to travel to the base. The visit was previously unannounced.

Sen. Chris Coons accompanied the president during the visit, which was closed to the press.

Chief Special Warfare Operator William "Ryan" Owens, a 36-year-old from Peoria, Illinois, was the first known U.S. combat casualty since Trump took office less than two weeks ago. Three other Americans were wounded in the operation, which was planned by former President Barack Obama's administration but approved by Trump.

Questions have been raised about the raid, which U.S. officials said left 14 al-Qaeda fighters dead and resulted in the capture of sensitive intelligence. The 8-year-old daughter of U.S.-born al Qaeda fighter Anwar al-Awlaki was also killed in the operation. Al-Awlaki, a former top al-Qaeda leader, was killed in a controversial drone strike in 2011.

Trump is also expected to join Owens' family for a private ceremony.

The trip was not on Trump's public schedule. A small group of journalists traveled with Trump on the condition that the visit was not reported in advance.
