A disgraced former reporter was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Friday for several bomb threats to Jewish Community Centers, Jewish schools and Jewish museums around the country.

Juan Thompson, 31, was arrested in St. Louis by the FBI for making at least eight bomb threats and the cyberstalking of an ex-girlfriend. Thompson was a former reporter for The Intercept, and was fired after it was discovered that he made up sources and stories, including one about Charleston shooter Dylann Roof.

The criminal complaint states that threats made to the Jewish establishments across the country by Thompson were under his name and the name of his ex-girlfriend, and occurred after the relationship ended. The threats were made by both email and phone calls.

Dozens of Jewish Community Center bomb threats have occurred throughout the country since President Donald Trump’s election, and liberal groups and politicians have attacked Trump for them. The president condemned the threats during his address to Congress, but he reportedly said earlier that day, “sometimes it’s the reverse, to make people — or to make others — look bad.”

Thompson’s Twitter account, which is referenced in the criminal complaint, espouses communist and anti-Trump beliefs. Several tweets from the Twitter account are mentioned in the criminal complaint.

Trump does not specify how he uncovered the Obama administration's alleged wiretapping.

However, he could be referencing to a Breitbart article posted Friday that claimed the Obama administration made two Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) requests in 2016 to monitor Trump communications and a computer server in Trump Tower focusing on possible links with Russian banks. No evidence was found.

Quite. Because if there was anything to be found, Obama and Clinton would have screeched about it long ago. Like, before the election.

Isn't it just? Obama cannot let go - and he is the first ex-Pres to do that, so it is easy to ask why not?

Obama's behaviour has been appalling, frankly - remember, a lot of people said he wouldn't give up office? if Clinton had won, it would have been business as usual, doubtless that empty seat on the Supreme Court was reserved for him.

Even if the GOP had run Jeb!, it wouldn't have made all that much difference.

But instead, they have President Donald J. Trump and his twitter account, and they are no longer in control of events. Trump's enemies must HATE him tweeting, instead of respectfully waiting for CNN to tell people what to think.

So, some spokesman for Obama has just issued a statement in which Obama tries to distance himself from whatever has been going on.....

I don't think for one minute that President Trump is wrong. He may bullsh*t a bit, but he's rarely actually wrong about important things (see anarchy in Sweden).

Yet while the carefully-worded statement, an exercise in semantics, claims Obama did not himself, or through members of his White House team, order a potential wiretapping, it does not deny an actual wiretapping of Trump (or Trump Tower), which as some have speculated in the past, did in fact take place after a FISA Court granted surveillance of Trump over accusations of Russian interference. It also does not preclude the FBI - which is the entity that would most likely have implemented such a wiretap - from having given the order.

As a reminder, here is what the Guardian reported in early January:

The Guardian has learned that the FBI applied for a warrant from the foreign intelligence surveillance (Fisa) court over the summer in order to monitor four members of the Trump team suspected of irregular contacts with Russian officials. The Fisa court turned down the application asking FBI counter-intelligence investigators to narrow its focus. According to one report, the FBI was finally granted a warrant in October, but that has not been confirmed, and it is not clear whether any warrant led to a full investigation.
For the definitive answer, we suggest Trump ask Comey whether or not his building was being tapped in the days prior to the election.

Exactly. Remember, Assange said he had some material from the Trump campaign, but as Trump was the same in private as in public there simply were no huge revelations, no smoking guns.
