If this happened now, the average pitchforker would:

Tell her not to bother, as statistically her daughter was dead

Tell her to shut up, as she was being boring, going on and on to keep her daughter in the news.

Decided that statistically a family member was involved and would set up an internet forum to make sure of "justice".

Produce books and leaflets to decide just how they would have behaved as parents and found her wanting.

Mz. Brown has absolutely no chance of solving this case, especially since she knows absolutely nothing about it, having patently not even read The Files.
It follows that she is doing this for self aggrandisment and financial gain. The woman clearly does not know what she is talking about.

Jayelles, you raise an excellent point: "if that isn't acting with real malice, I don't know what is. Pat brown has a choice. Laying off the McCanns is not going to impair the quality of her life, yet on a daily basis, she deliberately conducts herself in a way which threatens theirs"

She is putting it forward that it is her "duty" as a "professional profiler" to pursue this case. It is, in reality, nothing more than a hobby. What an empty, sad life she must lead to do this for the applause of the likes of "stella" and "petermac"

The version of the profile that I read suggested that the McCanns and their friends covered up Madeleine's sudden death, that her father disposed of her body and that both her parents were involved in moving her body a further two times.

These are VERY serious crimes. It is libelous to falsely accuse someone of a serious crime. Brown does so on the basis of misinformation. Her theory also requires the reader to disregard more than a dozen witness statements which corroborate the McCann version of events. Despite seasoned case followers on both sides dismissing her profile as ludicrous, she continues gto promote it, claiming that she is the victim of a hate campaign only.

It's okay for Americans to accuse people of committing Murder when they have No Evidence. It's in The Constitution. Didn't you know that?

I am still searching for it in The Constitution, but I'm sure it's there as Mz. Brown does this all of the time. I'll let you all know when I find it. But don't hold your breath. I could be gone sometime.

I as much as most am exceeding grateful for all of our American Members and the valuable help they provide, and I even am a member of two American Forums myself, but apart from basic facts of Law and Justice, would never presume to do in America what she is trying to do in this Case, and I almost certainly know a bloody sight more about American Law than she will ever know about British Law, or Portuguese Law for that matter. And by the time I have done, I will know more about American Law than she does, as well.

This is pure and nasty self aggrandisement with the expressed intention to earn money out of a Case that she patently knows nothing about. How much injury or distress she could cause is of no concern to her.
