IMO, the simplest solution would be for a non-Western nation to intervene and assassinate Fatso and his inner circle - the West CANNOT get involved, that will make matters worse as it will present the regime with an external enemy.

Just as nominally-Communist Vietnam had to step in in Cambodia. I can't see it suiting China to have a pariah state on its doorstep much longer?

I read somewhere that his second in command has disappeared. But at least his wife is safe for a minute or ten. Unless he decides that she has been norty with someone else.

I don't know what is to be done, but someone has got to take him out. But will it destabilise the country and make it worse than it is already?

Well, the West can't do anything, meddling would only make it worse. And any complicated CIA plot is guaranteed to fail and cost thousands of innocent lives, as well as restarting the Korean War.

IMO, it has to come from within. I doubt if anyone's going to care too much if a few generals are bumped off in the course of overthrowing Fattie, and hopefully China would then come in and help when the bullets have stopped flying.

China may be officially communist, but it's awfully fond of making money and is benign and liberal in comparison to the current regime.

I know it's a bit late, but it really is time I got an education instead of talking a load of opinionated bollocks.

Basic facts, China supported the North in the Korean War while the USA supported the South.  The status quo is still the same which is why the two Koreas will probably never be united, a very big shame, as if they were one country I think they would be a real powerhouse over there.   LL

That's the real tragedy, isn't it? The contrast between the north and south could scarcely be greater. The energy and drive in the south makes it seem as if its on another planet to the dreary, deadly north.

The lady who housekeeps in S Korea for my daughter and s-i-l escaped from the North after her whole family was executed for being anti the Kims.    LL
