Not Guilty.
Bill Roach has been found Not Guilty on all counts. The right decision in my opinion.

Re: Not Guilty.
The jury couldn't have been out for more than an hour or two - I can't imagine why a prosecution was brought on such flimsy 'evidence' in the first place, beyond someone was bandwagon-jumping and caught up in the hysteria.
Personally, I wish these women making false allegations of heinous crimes could be charged with perverting the course of justice. Not because I have any great concern for ageing male celebs, but every time one of these high-profile cases collapses because of non-existent evidence, it makes it harder for GENUINE victims of abuse to be believed.
I will hark back to those poor girls in the Midlands who were being pimped out - they were written off as making 'lifestyle choices' while the media competed for the most ridiculous, hysterical headline about some elderly celeb.
Those girls didn't sell so many tabloids though, did they?

Re: Not Guilty.
The whole thing was awful and disgusting. One of them couldn't even remember what happen the second time she was raped after going willingly to his house. And another was in the Gent's Toilet of all places. As if.

Well worth a read.

I suspect the clincher for the jury may have been the lurid tale of wrong-doing in a Roller Roach didn't actually own at the time.
Incidentally, why is it always a Rolls?

Re: Not Guilty.
It makes you wonder why the CPS didn't do the most basic fact-checking before prosecuting - like finding out whether he actually owned the Rolls at the time of the non-existent offences.
Or did the CPS just assume that because some woman shrieked and pointed, it must be true?
I saw Master Roach dancing with the Devil! Burn the witch!

And always a Rolls that the celebrity didn't own at the time. These "girls" don't do their research, do they.

Re: Not Guilty.
It's a fantasy that the girls have. He's rich so must have a Rolls. It makes it sound, to them, like it happened in a luxurious place. Would hardly be the same if they said he had a Reliant or something would it?

Re: Not Guilty.
Hounder yoyo thinks he must have been guilty really, because...
Straight from the horse's mouth, Roache claimed he'd 1000 lovers.
Jealous or what?

Re: Not Guilty.
Not true anyway. It was a question he was asked and didn't answer.
So off they go again, creating libellous myths. Although I very much doubt he cares at the moment.

Re: Not Guilty.
No, what yoyo failed to grasp is that having '1000 lovers' may be tacky, but it isn't actually a crime....
That yoyo seems to think it is, or should be, might explain why so many of the hounders are obsessed with 'debating' other people's private lives.

Actually, you are right, Bonny. It isn't a crime - far from it.
Why are they trawling back to the 60's?

Probably because they can remember the 60's. And they've never had a day's fun in their entire miserable, hate-filled lives.

Re: Not Guilty.
They might also think that no one would refute their version of events as it was a long time ago?
There is only one motivation in all this by those women. Money. it seems to also be the way of others who have been pressing it.
What on earth has the world come to?

Re: Not Guilty.
I have little doubt that £££££££ is playing a large part in this witchhunt, Lily - I don't include Hall in this, he was investigated and charged in the course of an independent investigation, not this Yewtree bandwagon.
He also confessed, and it seems to have gone on throughout his life, which is a totally different matter.
No, too many people have been making a money-spinning career out of 'celebrity child abuse', either as self-appointed 'experts' - M T - or as compo lawyers like that Dux woman.
Not to mention all the psuedo-science involving 'recovered memory'. Hello? You'd remember things clearly if you were burgled, or mugged and robbed in the street, you wouldn't 'forget' about it for forty years until you hopped on a money-spinning bandwagon.
I've seen people on the Icke site demanding that jury trials be done away with for cases like this because the jurors 'obviously' thought it was Ken Barlow on trial. And anyway, 'victims' never lie. Yeah, right. The jurors clearly weren't as stupid and gullible as conspiracy theorists.
This latest lot of 'victims' very obviously DID lie. Thereby doing women - and men - who have been GENUINE victims of this most heinous crime no favours at all, which is unforgiveable.
I blame the CPS. Either they didn't bother to find out if that 'Rolls Royce' actually existed, or they did, found out it didn't, and decided such a atmosphere of hysteria had been whipped up by the tabloids the truth wouldn't matter. The boss man would get a celebrity head to mount on his office wall, M T could emit more bullshit - who cares if an innocent man was jailed?
It's all happened before, of course. Anyone who thinks otherwise should spend some time reading The Crucible, or educate themselves learning about the Salem Witch Trials, for starters.

Re: Not Guilty.
Trying William Roache over allegations dating back 50 years was a high-stakes gamble for the Crown Prosecution Service which has backfired with potentially far-reaching consequences.
I have seen this part of the Telegraph article. High Stakes? These are peoples lives they are playing dice with even though they are well known. How very dare they? They wanted the high profile names to go with their er..... 'glory'?
If they were guilty that is something else.
You are so right about comparing this to the Inquisition. Is this where we are at now? You may get Justice if you are lucky?

Re: Not Guilty.
Can The CPS be so stupid that they didn't bother to check the Rolls Royce story at all? There is already a fake Rolls Royce story kicking around in the Savile accusations.
Whatever. Someone ought to take a closer look at The CPS. They are making a laughing stock of themselves.
And very nearly ruined the life of an 81year old man.
Or else they are corrupt. Heaven forbid.

Apologies, Bonny. It would appear that way, wouldn't it. I'm surprised the D.Ickes haven't pondered that question more.........

Oh, I can't imagine why no-one asked about anything.
