He totally ignored the small detail that the annoyed owner of the Instagram account they were snaffled from had come forward to claim them, and made it perfectly clear that they were his chums, not 'secret Russian paramilitaries', or whatever Kerry insisted they were.

How does it help anything for Kerry to tell blatant lies like that? Anyone who's been following this knows he was lying through his expensive capped teeth.

He is taking everyone as suckers.

His problem is - people aren't suckers. How does he imagine it looks to other leaders when he comes out with nonsense and outright lies? What message is it sending to, say, Ms Merkel, who is already cross about having been bugged by NSA when he spouts this rubbish? Beyond the current US administration simply cannot be trusted, and the Secretary of State appears to have mental health issues?

Am appalled frankly.

He has blamed everyone but himself during his whole presidency. He started off blaming Bush - fair enough, he can be blamed for lots of things. However, he kept going and that was wearing threadbare by then.

It would be more realistic if he started taking responsibility for something. After all, the buck does stop with him. Or so I thought......

So, where are we today?

In Lvov, the local neo-Nazis marched in honour of the creation of the 14th SS-Volunteer Division ‘Galician’ on April 28, 1943. That's the kind of episode most countries would rather forget ever happened, but hey ho.

Obama's been stamping his feet again, and Kerry has been insulting Israel for a change. No-one from Washington has descended on Ukraine to sh*t-stir for a few days, which may have something to do with the violence being at a fairly normal level.

The latest is that the police and others have changed sides and their bosses in Kiev are threatening to sack them.

Who would have thought.   

I should think Merkel likes having this mess on her doorstep just about as much as Putin does...that stupid b*tch Nuland should never have handed out cookies to rioters and Kerry shouldn't have told risible lie after risible lie.

IMO, if it's clear after the May elections that the east wants to leave the current Ukraine, then it should be allowed to. Or are they going to be forced by Obama and co to stay united with a government they detest? Because that will end very badly indeed.

IMF approves $17 billion loan package for Ukraine

The International Monetary Fund board has approved a two-year, $17 billion loan package for Ukraine.

The IMF announced the assistance Wednesday following a board meeting at the fund's Washington headquarters.

The IMF assistance pledged in March was hinged on economic reforms in Ukraine. The changes included raising taxes, freezing the minimum wage and raising energy prices—all steps that could hit households hard and strain the interim government's tenuous hold on power

How on earth is Ukraine supposed to pay that back? When reality sinks in, whichever bunch of corrupt oligarchs are in power, are liable to find themselves decorating lampposts courtesy of irate citizens.

Seems to be the usual MO of the IMF? They want more of that interest coming in.......
