GONZO SACKS LAWYER IN NEW STUNT, DOES RUNNER FROM COURT

Maybe MR Amaral sacked his lawyer because he should have known about the WOC issue in the early stages, not leaving Mr Amaral to find this out for himself.

But Gonzo didn't 'find out' anything. He's known about Madeleine's WoC status since 2007.

Oh, the hounder must mean the utter sh*te Gonzo was fed by sources in the UK that have a long track record of failing to grasp the law and landing themselves with monthly payments to law firms?

Maybe GA's lawyer wanted the balance or a part of his fees before the summing up and GA fired him.

But...but...Gonzo is assured of victory! There never has been any good reason for him to be scrounging money off his idiotic fanclub, as according to them, he will be triumphant, and a rich man as soon as he is victorious.

Are they incapable of logic? They are all convinced he's going to win, so how does that square with his cowardly conduct? After all:

Amoral doesn't need your money - he has a pile of money that's been frozen by the court.

A rather interesting interview but not a word about the latest debacle and here’s the gist. He won’t be publishing a second book although he has already written it as according to him he had said everything he wishes to say about this case. In which case why a second book or is there some as yet undisclosed reason why he won’t be publishing it?

Good point - are we supposed to believe Gonzo didn't tell any of the other defendants?

Surely Oliviero, after he was sacked by txt on the Friday would have told the other lawyers?

Did we see ANY of the other defendants on Monday? I don't think so.

The only people I could see who turned up on schedule were the poor McCanns, who'd had to trail over from England.

The whole stunt was a put-up job, IMO, and in normal democracies, Gonzo would be facing contempt charges and his lawyer possible disbarment. Unfortunately, Portugal seems to bear little resemblance to a normal democracy.

I don't believe the Judge can make a decision, or take account of, comments made by or attributed to Amaral last week or last month.

No? His continual deranged outbursts go to character, sweetcheeks. Did they miss Stooge Sargento bewailing the fact that his current ramblings have caught the attention of the libel court?

Littlebore demonstrates it's incapable of accurately reading what was actually said...and it needn't worry, the judge knows EXACTLY how long the libel trial has been delayed, and by whom.

Right back to 2009, when Gonzo's old lawyer's secretary supposedly had swine flu. Then that lawyer was supposedly at death's door, and made a remarkable recovery when he was paid 2,000 euros by the Gonzo fund.

On Monday, the 16th of June, 2014, before the start of the last hearing of the ongoing trial, Gonçalo Amaral delivered a revocation of mandate at the Civil Court of Lisbon. This document ceased the mandate of his then legal representative.

According to the disposition in the Portuguese Civil Process Code, the trial was suspended for the legal period for Mr Amaral to appoint a new lawyer, given that a party in this type of action cannot remain without legal representation.

New dates were set. On the 8th of July, the judge will hear the parties' declarations to the court. On the 10th of July, the lawyers will present closing arguments.

PJGA - as if he still has something to do with the PJ. When the truth is that the PJ want to strip him of his pension and other perks because of the damage he's caused the reputation of the Portuguese police.

Probably why they're all in meltdown, hurling abuse, frequently obscene, at the McCann family. Why they imagine that helps their unsavoury idol, I have no idea. It makes him look ten times worse than he manages himself, when the media looks at their sites and sees the kind of foul-mouthed, foul-minded gutter trash that supports him.

ETA, the difference between his current appearance, as he lurches scruffily around the docks, and his previous appearance when he was spending money like a drunken sailor, is very marked.

Remember when he tried to serve Michael Barrymore in the Big Brother House? Big drama.... just like this. Which makes a person wondfer what is wrong with him as displaying dramatic acts, such as those, is not good.......

It was Santos who spoke first in the TV programme and he struck me rather like someone with his back against the wall.

I think too Isabel Duarte would have liked to say a lot more about that session with the judge and the comments of the other lawyers seemed stiff-lipped in the extreme. My guess is that the judge had a lot to say and none of it complimentary. I bet too she gave the co-defendants lawyers a grilling about how much they knew or didn't know beforehand. Somehow I don;'t think landing a judge with a king-sized omelette on the face is the best way to conduct one's case
